Hands Down Best Toaster Ever

Artisan KMT423

Had toaster for a week. Makes perfect toast and calls you when its ready. Simultaneously toasted crumpets one side and toast on the other. Works fine and then turns itself off if unused.

The crumpet mode requires 2 cycles of toasting, but tell me what toaster has ever got the crumpet mode down to one toast cycle.

For toasting bread it cant be beat. Crumpets on the second toasting cycle are perfect by the way!

What are your thoughts, Is it my toaster thats missing the dial notches or is it all the toasters made like this, so its a guessing system or once you find what you like you just leave it there.

best toaster ever

Artisan KMT423

This toaster rocks! Perfect toast every time. When you press the button the toaster beeps and slowly lowers the toast, has a countdown timer so you can see how long your toast has left to toast. When it's ready it slowly raises it and beeps so you know it's ready. No more toast leaping out if the toaster onto the bench or floor, and if you are in another room you can hear the beep when it's ready. Has a keep warm button and digital display which turns itself off after a while to save power. The toast browns perfect and even every time. Expensive at $212 but I love it. Let's hope it lasts lol.

A risk I shouldn't have taken

Artisan

Bought in Dec 15 and broke down in Jan 16 after minimal use (toast would not come back up). Positive - KA agreed to replace to product immediately and the retailer (DJs) gave me $20 back for my troubles. I now have another new KA toaster. I'm feeling nervous although KA has a two year warranty.

complete failure

Artisan

On first use this toaster appeared to be dead. Plugged in, turned on but the display did not light and nothing happened. Turned off and on a few times and it 'reset' itself and worked ok for a few months of light use but then failed completely. Do not buy, poor quality control from the manufacturer.

Solid

Artisan

We have had this toaster for about 3 years now and its been good since then but lately the buzzer has stopped working and toasting now takes a bit longer for some strange reason they both happened at the same time.
The unit is solidly built and pretty heavy for a toaster.
It looks good but I dislike how i have to lever my toast up and down and turn the switch to toast.
the crumb tray is a convenient feature.
Solid, looks good
Overpriced, manual lever

Tomee

aaand the toaster has just died. It will turn off straight away when you set it to toast.

Expensive piece of junk

Artisan

I bought this toaster because I liked the look of it, but also because I felt by paying more I would be buying a quality product and it looked very durable. However I was sorely wrong. The lever to push the toast down broke very early on, that was OK, I glued it back on, but now the toaster won't work. The switch that turns on the elements just spins and therefore the toaster is ruined. I would never buy a KitchenAid product again.
The look
The quality of the product and the service of the company.

Do not buy this piece of junk.

Artisan

Toast lift handle has broken . Ready buzzer does not work after only four months use.
Toaster only works when it feels like it. Replacement circuit board / parts cost $ 250.00.
The Australian repair agent agrees they are not worth fixing . Kitchenaid knows they have a faulty product
and should recall every toaster.
Robust looking. I thought I was buying a good quality piece of equipment I could be proud of. ( WRONG )
Electrical component failures.

The worst toaster I have ever owned and the most expensive

Artisan

Have send it back 6 or more times electric faults every time fit and sent back for the same thing to happen again. The last time we had just got back from holidays, sitting at the table having a cupper.

The toaster had not been used for 2 weeks just caught fire, We could have come back home to no house.

Why have they not recalled all the KitchenAid toasters just read the blogs, lots have had electric faults with them and others have caught fire!

Not good enough our familys should feel safe not so in our house with a Kitchenaid toaster!

Unsafe!

Agreed, my kitchenaid toaster caught fire while not in use yesterday. How an appliance can catch fire while turned off i don't understand.Lucky i was home or it probably would of burnt our house down.
Should be recalled!

Brilliant - better than what I expected. At first I was reluctant to go with such an expensive item, but now I have no regrets. It's so quite, easy to use and to clean and it looks so pretty!!
Simple and quite to use and easy to clean.
Price - its quite expensive.

I WANT A REFUND, its a shame i read the reveiws before Jan 2010. Sounds like issues are all recent
The looks, the brand in general
OMG. Customer service in Australia is awful. Ours just started making this horrible sound instead of the buzzer but to get it repaired has been a hassle (still ongoing) and its only a few months old and rarely used due to house rennovations. lots of conflicting advise on how to resolve but apparently I need to find a registered repair centrem they'll replace the internal parts.

The toaster also doesn't always take the bread slice as its too shallow so often have to flip the slice mid toast

Terrible

Artisan

DO NOT buy this toaster as said above I rturned it twice, first time it was shitring when I pushed lever down and blowing the safety switch in my house. Second time it just stopped working. Third time I demanded my money back as it starting smoking and crackling/ popping, it wasn't even in use at the time just plugged in and switched on at the wall, just pure luck I was home when it happened.
Kitchenaid also have terrible warranty / customer service. A reeal shame it was such a nightmare cos I loved the toaster
Looks good, I like the manual lever action instead of the spring
Returned 3 times with electrical faults was VERY lucky it did not burn my house down
