I really wanted to love this but I think it’s faulty
The size and shape of the bowl in addition to its ability to fry food was what had me super excited about this purchase. I really wanted to love it.
I purchased this as a back up to my tm5 but am so disappointed.
Upon unboxing it the paint on one side was flaking. It looks as though when they were painting the top coat they missed a spot. Wouldn’t normally bother me but it’s visible and given the appliance heats up I wouldn’t trust it not to spread over time. I tried over two days to contact KitchenAid and can’t get through. Again, pretty disap...
Read morepointed. I have since written an email and am still waiting for a response. Seeing the appliance was damaged on arrival I thought I’d check to see if it worked properly so when I eventually talk to someone I can address any other issues, if any. Honestly this machine is awful. It makes the most horrendous squeal when cooking and after 25 minutes of cooking at 120 degrees was still showing that it was preheating. It never actually indicated that it reached temperature for the duration of the cook cycle. To add insult to injury when I opened the lid after it had finished, the rubber seal flicked hot stock all over me. Half an hour of using it and I had a burn and a headache. I’m pretty sure mines faulty as I’d like to think an appliance that costs this much money would perform so poorly. I have a KitchenAid stand mixer and food processor that are still going strong after 18 years and this experience will certainly affect whether I replace them with the KitchenAid brand again. I am regretful that I purchased this really and would like a refund ideally.
Purchased in June 2020.

Be careful unless you like trendy food and following recipes
I wanted something to cook mince and onion meals without burning them. Wrong.
Ibought mine second hand off eBay for and regret it. I would not buy one again without the back up of a consultant. It is so hard to learn to use without a demonstration and back up. Thanks to this group I have learned to use it. I have only successfully made jam, lemon butter and last week, cheesecake. I have had no success browning mince and onions, which is why I bought it really. It chops well but is an expensive grater.
The app is useless. This group is your best support if you buy a second hand one, but I wouldn’t again unless it was half new price.

Cooks fantastically, a larger pot would be fabulous. Cleaning is not clean cut, but not enough to stop me using it.
Upon Stirring however, there emits a god awful squealing. I find only when not stirring is there peace.
A really good addition would be a fluid catcher for when you open the lid with cooking, I get a substantial puddle around the cord after opening lid when cooking’s finished.
Hi,
An update to add to the squealing issue. I’ve noticed the squeal disappeares when on a low stir, and consequently is louder when on a high stir. ...

Im extremely happy with my machine although I still have the old lid which does trap food that can't be removed...
Love the ease of use but due to lack of recipes, I'm struggling with what I can cook in it. Yes i can use the online recipes but most are american and contain ingredients and measurements that just don't work for me. I love casseroles, stews and old fashioned curries. Overall its definitely pretty fantastic :)

Questions & Answers
Hi. I'm considering buying the cook processor- I really want to be able to cook stews and curries with very tender meat in the quickest possible time. Does anybody have experience doing this with the cook processor using stewing program? How long does it take to get the meat very tender?
Hi Gigi,
I cook my curries and stews on the 60min cycle and have had every one turn out lovely and tender. The red meats and pork turn out the best (chicken needs to be on a shorter cycle). ...

I find if you treat it like a pot on the stove it will do great stews and curries. So fry onion and meat like you would on a stove then had liquids and stew....
