Perfect appliance - terrible customer service
The bowl, the motor, the mixing is awesome. Customer service is the worst I ever encountered. 25 days to respond to an email and still waiting another 20 days later for another response. I would never again choose this product based on the level of customer service. Paying top dollar I not only expect a product that is fantastic (which it is) I expect a level of service.

Poor Customer Service Christmas Promotion
Purchased a mixer as a Christmas gift on the understanding that there was a Christmas promotion of a complementary attachment via redemption. Being a Christmas gift it wasn't opened until Christmas day and there was no redemption paperwork in the package. When we returned from our Christmas break I found the online lodgement and submitted the redemption claim on 3 Jan 2018. The reply from Kitchenaid 3 weeks later was that I missed the cutoff for redemption as it closed 31 December 2017. There were only 3 business days between Christmas Day and ...Read more
the close of redemption. The terms of the promotion (ie stating close of promotion on 31 Dec) were not displayed on the website I purchased from at the time and were not forwarded to me via either the supplier or Kitchenaid. Despite 3 phone calls to Kitchenaid I still have no reply so next stop is ACCC I think.2 comments

All models release a toxic aluminium powder from their components
Bought this product 3 months ago. The whisker is made from an unstable aluminium alloy which releases a toxic powder when touched. KitchenAid are refusing a refund despite photo evidence as they do not want to admit to selling a faulty product. Would not recommend buying due to the high risk of toxicity.

Serious Design Defect and Terrible 0800 Customer Service
We bought this one two weeks ago in New Zealand and it has a serious design defect. The bottom could not clamp tightly. Few seconds later after the machine operates, it moves. So when we called the customers service, we were told there is NO WARRANTY for commercial use. However, I got a piece of paper in front of me says I have 1 year warranty for commercial use. Seems like the call taker was rush to go home and kept telling me "Sorry We Are not able to help!". I gave them a call today, 9th Feb 2018, but the 0800 881 200 line says the Australia...Read more

Awesome for dough making
I bought this product mainly for dough making and my experience has been great so far. Machine is quite. Cleaning is also very easy. Mixing bowl is made of steel so it’s light weight and unbreakable. The machine is sturdy and comes in variety of colours. I bought silver colour and I am satisfied with the build quality and operation.

Extremely Disappointed with customer service
Was given mixer as a Christmas present, unable to claim free attachment offer via online at the time so sent a letter with a copy of my receipt explaining this, and then lodged the online claim form on the 1.1.18 which was apparently 1 day to late. Have been told by customer service sorry we can't help you, never received your letter and you are too late, any good company who cares about their customers would have handled this situation very differently. Never experienced this bad attitude from any other big company, they won't be getting any more of my business.

Bad quality control - I am really surprised
Early January, I bought a new Kitchenaid stand mixer KSM160 in Majestic Yellow. I was really excited. When I went home and pulled it out of the box, I was quite surprised at how filthy the mixer was - noting it came out of a brand spanking new box that had NOT previously opened. The stand mixer was filthy and on the back neck of the mixer it was marked, like someone had opened the head up for access to the bowl so roughly before the paint had hardened that the line was through to the silver metal underneath the paint. There was also a scrat...Read more
ch on the top. Round that point on the neck it also wasn't painted fully - it missed bits round the edges. I am really surprised it got past quality control in St Joseph, Michigan. I returned the product to the store and they don't have any product that is not 'damaged' in similar ways. Do I ask for a credit or it is possible get a mixer that is not faulty? I have looked at other colours and it looks like they sent out a bad run on majestic yellow. All I want is a majestic yellow one, warranting the cost of the mixer - painted properly and undamaged - they are expensive in Australia!! The question is can Kitchenaid Australia help out, or I need to contact Fair Trading and get a refund?3 comments

Fantastic product!
Love this mixer, I use it every week to make muffins and bread and it is just superb! It is expensive but it it the best! All the parts are very good quality, can't live without it! Very easy to use and clean, very robust, perfect size as I bake a lot. Highly recommended, had it for almost 4 years and still going strong. Great product!

A pair of extra hands!
After much research I decided to go ahead and purchase my first Kitchenaid mixer. As a homesteader, and farmer there are just some pieces of equipment I can’t live without, and this is one. It is up there with the milking machine and tractor. I have now enjoyed this machine for five months and felt it was time to write a review. I love it! I couldn’t live with out it. I make butter every day, and bread and dough every day. I now enjoy the pasta attachments and the kids love the pasta. The mincer is great when I don’t want to drag out my...Read more
big machine which I use for mincing 100 kg or more. The attachment Is strong but for smaller quantities, as it would just take longer, that’s all. Today we ordered the ice cream attachment, despite some negative reviews I read. Why, well I found the customer service was so good when I first purchased my mixer that I trust that they will provide support should I have problems. I hope you enjoy and value yours as much as I do mine. It is also beautiful, and as I spend a lot of time in the kitchen it helps if you enjoy your surroundings.1 comment

Saves so much time when baking
I purchased this stand mixer a few months ago and it’s been one of my best purchase! It came with a free attachment at the time and my attachment arrived In the mail a few weeks after my purchase. I did have concerns the attachment wouldn’t arrive after reading some online complaints.
With my old hand held mixer I could only make one batch of macaroons while kids were at school. With my stand mixer I can make two batches of macaroons and a cake while kids are at school and still have time to get dinner sorted and some pack up clean up. It h...Read more
as saved me so much time! And I can be so much more efficient with my time. There is only one small downfall, the splash guard doesn’t cover the whole bowl, only roughly 3/4 of the bowl is covered leaving the rest exposed to splattering and so cleaning the bench etc is still required. I’m definitely very happy with my new purchase. I have yet to try the ravioli maker attachment, I’ll place a review on that when I get a chance to try it.1 comment

Adore my stand mixer!
This stand mixer works well for egg whites, mixing cakes, mixing mince for meatballs...everything. Kneading bread takes a few practice runs but works really well once you’re familiar with the process. The two mixing bowls offer a good variety for different mixture amounts - e.g. making an omelette for one or two, I whisk my eggs in the smaller bowl. So far I’ve used all of the attachments and the only thing I’d recommend is to purchase a Flexi beater as well; this creams frosting a lot better than the standard attachment.
We love our mixer and couldn’t be happier to invest in a quality product that will last a long time.

I'd give 0 stars if I could
My first stand mixer started to fall apart after about three uses. I returned it to Harvey Norman who sent it to an authorised repairer, two weeks later I went to collect it only to find the authorised repairer had scratched, dented and (amazingly!!!) tried to glue it back together. Another four weeks of chasing Harvey Norman resulted in a 'new' stand mixer being picked up. After opening the box I was absolutely disgusted. The 'new' stand mixer was filthy, scratched and dented. Another four days and a second 'new' replacement was sent to me...Read more
, this one had a massive dent in it! Six weeks of countless phone calls, emails and waiting for a replacement and after three attempts at getting what I paid for - with Christmas fast approaching - I'm now left with nothing and waiting for a refund. In the six weeks to date I have had to buy two birthday cakes, physically visited Harvey Norman twice and have made too many phone calls / emails to count so I'm not only frustrated and furious but also out of pocket considerably and STILL without the functioning stand mixer I paid a huge amount for. I have emailed Kitchen Aid with pictures of the damage to the first new replacement and overall disgusting condition of the stand mixer - no reply. Save your money and sanity - buy a stand mixer that won't fall apart or look second hand straight out of the box - I'll be buying a Smeg (NOT from Harvey Norman) and will be telling everyone just how poor Kitchen Aid is - from a quality perspective and their complete disregard for customers, any service is non-existent. Absolutely disgusting and extremely foolish to ignore disgruntled customers in the day and age of social media.4 comments

Poor Quality Control - Never Got To Turn it On
Purchase this KSM160 in Empire Red together with matching toaster and kettle for a special birthday for my wife who loves to bake. There was a dent and blemish in the cast alloy of the mixer's frame which stood out straight away when taking it out of the box an placing it on the kitchen bench. Very deflating.
Given the market segment this mixer is in, this is very poor inspection quality control by Kitchen Aid. Peter's of Kensington advise that the item is not a "factory second" and requested that it be returned so that Kitchen Aid can in...Read more
spect it. I provided photo's, so not sure what the "inspection" is all about. In any event it is on its way back to Peter's of Kensington who provided prepaid return postage, just no insurance to cover the item in transit, which I had to purchase from AustPost. I will post an update to this Product Review to let you avid bakers know what KitchenAid had to say, or whether I need to start a PayPal claim. ADDENDUM DEC 2017Similar opinion? So far, so good
After my second Sunbeam twin engine mixer started smoking again, I decided it was time to part ways with Sunbeam. I'd wanted a Kitchenaid for sometime, and I'm not disappointed. It is certainly powerful and effective enough. It actually feels more heavy duty than the Sunbeam and I believe it is faster at functions such as creaming butter and sugar. I love the Cocoa Silver colour too. I'm trying to get used to having to remove the bowl so I can properly scrap down the sides of the bowl. I was looking forward to receiving the bonus attachment,...Read more

Easiest most convenient mixer to use. Just pop it on the bench get your money ingredients out and pop in the bowl and mic away. Pizza dough has never been easier to knead. Crap using your hands to knead anymore. Cakes tun out better than ever. Everyone needs a kitchen aid

Flex edge beater still misses the edge
I love the look of the Kitchenaid mixer, and it's powerful. But I'm disappointed that I have to scrape sides, and bottom to ensure thorough mixing of cake batters etc. I bought a flex edge beater, and it's not much better. Am I using the wrong bowl??? What am I doing wrong?

Hi Liz, in the instruction manual you will find the steps on how to adjust your beater-to-bowl clearance, this will help the flex edge scrape closer to the bowl. Kind Regards, The KitchenAid Team

So happy my daughter made me upgrade my kenwood chef
So I finally upgraded my 20 year old kenwood Chef. I was worried that these had too much hype and not enough grunt as they have half the power of my 700kW Kenwood Chef. But the motor being right on the head delivers amazing power. My Pavlovas are fluffier than ever and they were always amazing so don't know how they got better. My daughter makes macarons that are better than any you find at Zumbo's. We had to pay extra to get the pastel pink model, but now it sits on my kitchen bench - I would never have doe that with the ugly Kenwood.

Mixer is good
I have used the mixer and I think it is working good, I mostly enjoy the look of it ;), it's an empire red one.
I have recently bought a citrus juicer attachment and not happy with that, every time the grease leaks down to the juice from the head.

Please everyone be very careful, because of very poor design of this attachment, if you push a little bit more than usual (you have to do it, so you can juice the citrus.), the aluminium comes off from the central shaft, since there is no plastic washer in between. Now that I have compared the new shaft which I just received with my previous ones, I can say how much aluminium we have been drinking it the last year.Similar opinion? The mixer speed is adjustable between the increments provided. Please note speed increases by units of 2 from 0 to 1 then 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10. Please note there is only limited speed adjustment between each of above speed divisions as at each of the above steps it clicks into the marked speed position.
