Crystal blue kitchen aid
This mixer has changed my life. It mixes and whisks with ease and does it in half the time of other mixers I've used previously.. Easy to keep clean and bowls are available in steel or glass. I made a pavlova as my first dish and it was the lightest yummiest one ever . My only concern is the whisk or mixer tool is clumsy to remove of the main mixer and you hands get covered in food. When the mixer is lifted up it can tip easily if bumped, so advise to return it to the normal position. Worth the money !

I Love mine
Only had a hand mixer for years and then after much discussion and saving bought the mixer. It is awesome, saves so much time and I make lots of things from scratch. It stays on the bench as a feature of the kitchen not only an ornament but purposeful. They are expensive but you get what you pay for.

Find out how KitchenAid KSM160 Artisan compares to other Benchtop Food Mixers
Know better, choose better.

Bought especially to knead bread and for the KSM 160 to provide a long working production life.
Has lived up to its promise so far, and now to try cakes and other baking recipes. I read all the promos and write ups regarding the KitchenAid artisan mixer for approximately two years, finding only positive comments; I wanted a mixer for dough and bread making and the second requirement was that it maintains in good working order for at least twenty years to justify the purchase price. I am very happy with the bread making quality and look forward to a long and happy working life with the KitchenAid artisan KSM 160 into my retirement.

Love it. An investment for those who cook from scratch.
After using a handmixer handed down from my mother (20yrs old) I was ready to upgrade after it broke. The decision to buy a KitchenAid was a very big one as it is quite a pricey item. I did a lot of research before buying and loved the fact that you are able to purchase various attachments to add to its functionality eg. flex-edge beater, pasta attachments, mincer, sausage maker, icecream maker etc. This assisted with my hesitation to commit to the purchase. We make a lot of our items from scratch and therefore get our money's worth. It sits on...Read more
our bench and never goes away. It is very simple to use and makes life a lot easier when cooking. My 5yr old loves that she can now do a lot of the processes to help also and be involved. A KitchenAid is an investment, not simply a purchase. If you make a lot of items from scratch it is definitely worth it as you save a lot of time using the machine, however, if you are an occasional cook it would just be a luxury purchase which takes up bench space. I would add that the attachments are quite expensive in Australia, however, it is definitely worth sourcing online for cost savings. The machine is quite heavy but needs to be in order to efficiently knead dough without bouncing around everywhere. Loved that the KSM160 came with the pouring shield and the extra bowl. Fast, effiicient, time saver, mixes perfectly, kneads perfectly, simple and attractive design, easy to use, Flex-Edge Beater attachment a must for bakers Expensive, majority of attachments to be be purchased separately and pricey, heavy but needs to be to have a durable machine with its functionalitySimilar opinion? Looks good but wish I'd bought a cheaper one
I too was convinced that the reviews told the truth and maybe they do if you use it every day. It works well, and although touted to reach all parts of the bowl it doesn't. don't use it as much as I thought I would and find the attachments tricky to use. I should've bought a hand mixer really in retrospect *gulp*
Looks good, mixes quickly and powerfully
Quite large, too expensive, under utilised in my home and accessories over priced

I've found it interesting that I've helped over 25,800 people with my review but only 3 found it useful. Is it because I was too honest?

Its good but not 5 stars
Its great to mix large amount of cake batter or to make dough but I cant use it to make pizza dough for 2.
I also found that cake mix gets stuck at the bottom of the bowl and when you pour cake batter in the cake pan,, there is dry cake mix left at the bottom. Doesn't pick up all from the bottom of the bowl. I had high expectations from it but now I am wondering if it's really worth $700.
Making cake is now 'piece of cake'
Dry powder gets stuck, unmixed at the bottom of the bowl. not good for small amount.

Speed Controller; Hello, can the speed control lever be used as "infinitely variable" or must it be clicked into the preset speeds ie 1 - 10. Thanks.
1 answer
The mixer speed is adjustable between the increments provided. Please note speed increases by units of 2 from 0 to 1 then 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10. Please note there is only limited speed adjustment between each of above speed divisions as at each of the above steps it clicks into the marked speed position.
