Not too bad for the price granted the water cap doesn't break !
Purchased the Kmart steam mop and didn't expect much for the price. Have never used a steam mop before but surprisingly does a reasonable job on hard floors. Doesn't leave behind much water so hard floors dry quickly. I do find it can be streaky on tiles so prefer for hard floors. I would probably prefer a bit hotter for tile/ bathroom areas. The water tank is small and needs refilling a couple times so more suitable for a smaller home or doing an area of home. Wasn't too bad doing a quick clean on rug. What lets this mop down is the cord is a...Read more
little short ( easily fixed with extension cord) however the water tank cap broke after a couple of uses but can be wedged in ( a bit annoying and fingers crossed It is safe to use). The size and shape is great to get into corners. It has it's limitations, especially with water cap breaking off but I tend to leave upstairs to save me bringing up mop/bucket. All in all as a cleaning freak I had fun trying this out as an introduction to the steam mop world. Will be upgrading to a better brand/ model.Purchased in December 2021.

Stopped working after around 5 uses.
Only worked about 5 times. Now no longer produces steam. I suppose you get what you pay for in the end after all.
It stopped working during CV lockdown, rather inconveniently!

Cheap but effective, but beware
CAUTION..Do not leave water in it or, if it has, not be laid on its side even when unpowered. We have had two and both times, and our fault, the first, when powered up, flashed with destroyed electronics. The second somehow had the same misuse, and although we stopped it from shorting out, the point is, mains powered electrical appliances that uses water and steam surely should not be able to malfunction so. Even so, we would buy another but they are out of stock.

Good value for money, but not the best steam mop
For it's price tag, the Kmart Steam Mop is perfectly serviceable. As you should expect at that price point, it's not as good as others on the market, but, if like us, you want for occasional use, then it's great value for money. Pros: Price tag, has a decent size tank, the pad is reasonable quality and washes well.
Cons: It takes longer to heat up than others, and has a much shorter cord than my previous branded model, is a little tricky to fill without spilling water and only comes with a single pad - I haven't been able to find any additional pads in store yet.

Great for the price
I brought this steam mop based on the reviews. The machine is very compact and lightweight. I did need an extension cord. The microfibre mats were easy to attach and replacements extremely cheap at $9.50 for 3. I had been using a Vileda mop and bucket for 3yrs prior and was happy with it. After using the steam mop I was shocked at how much dirt was on the mat . I am now hooked and won't be using my mop and bucket anymore which was the same price in comparison. I did have a few streak marks but ok with this as I prefer the floor to be clean. ...Read more
Heats up very quickly and is easy to manouver. The only draw back is getting used to the cord and holding onto it as you steam. But overall a fantastic little steamer well worth the small price tag. Very happy.Purchased in January 2021 at Kmart Retail Stores for $49.00.

You get what you pay for
Compared to other steam mops out there this was one of the cheapest. It does do what it's meant to, however the quality of the microfiber cloth is cheap and leaves streak marks on my tiles. I prefer my Kmart spray mop to this one.

Leave streak marks on the floor
Bought this recently at K Mart after our HAAN steam mop no longer works (after almost three years). It left streak marks and the cord was quite short so an extension cord is required. Read many good reviews on the Homemaker Steam Mop that K Mart used to sell but sadly it has been replaced by this newer model which isn't very good.

Better Than Any Expensive Brand
This mop is absolutely brilliant. I have been using a more expensive brand for around 8 years and was getting fed up mopping the floor with towels every time I used it. Given the cheap price of this mob I gave it a try. I could not be happier. The fact that it doesn’t need a filter is also a bonus. The floor does get a little wet at times, but nothing like my old mop which in turn, saves me time. The other thing I like about it is you do not have to hold a button to get the steam. This mop automatically starts steaming as soon as you sta...Read more
rt to mop and it stops when you put it in the upright position. The cord length is quite good also, but I always use an extension cord as I have large areas of tiles. The pad is so much easier to clean also. Just rinse under running water and most of the dirt comes off. I had to soak my old one, and still was badly stained. The water tank holds a good amount of water also. 9/10, only because the floor gets a little wet at times. Highly recommend this product.Purchased in September 2021 at Kmart for $49.00.

REVISED REVIEW MODEL JC-23O
This is a revision of my previous review which expressed disappointment with this product. My main complaint was that the micro-fiber mop head did not collect grime from the floor (only around the edge) Determined to find a way around the problem I manufactured a pad and attached it to the base, then placed the micro-fiber pad over it, worked beautifully. The tanks capacity is very adequate to cover 3+ tiled rooms, steam flow exceptionally good and the floor dries almost immediately. Cord length could be longer - I attach an extension to save...Read more
from moving to several points. In my opinion more than one pad should be included with the initial purchase. Local K Mart does not have them in stock, will have to purchase on-line. To sum up, I am now very happy with the product (after my resourceful improvement) and believe the purchase was good value for me, for the price of $49.00Purchased in July 2021 at Kmart for $49.00.

Good Product, Reasonable Price
Bought this a few months ago so I have had time to assess it's performance. I chose to buy this one as researching other brands found this one to be rated well but also had a reasonable price. So far I have found it cleans, is easy to use and store. I only use it in the bathrooms and laundry. I did try it once on my polished wood floors but decided steam may deteriate the surface. My downstairs bathroom and laundry are large areas and mopping resulted in drying time of hours. With the steam mop, floors dry in one hour. I would recommend this product

Great price, excellent steam output.
I bought this steam mop from Kmart after my other more expensive steam mop stopped steaming after only 6 months. I had intended to use this new mop for only a short time until I purchased another more expensive brand but Ive had it much much longer than the previous one.
I have been absolutely blown away by how easy to use and well it cleans. This mop is super light weight and easy to use. It puts out lots of steam and gets off stubborn marks on our floor easily just by holding the mop head on top of the mark for a few seconds.
The only down si...Read more

Fantastic product for the price
Pros:
*A lot cheaper than other brand. I also own a Haan (old model) which was great but it died on me after 5-6years and was replaced once and costs over $200
*Heaps of steam power
*Water reservior isn't too bad. Not 100% but i think i can get about 10mins of steam out of it.
*Lightweight
*Handle extension
Cons:
Only comes with 1 mop mat (additional mat x3 was about $15 if i recall correctly)
Not detachable but I think you lose steam power if it's detachable like the Haan model I've had...Read more

Is this ok to use on wooden floors?
2 answers
I'm guessing yes, however I have tiles. Maybe a spray mop would work better for timber floors.
I have wooden floors in my bedrooms and have used the steam mop with no problems. Though i didn't leave the steam mop lying in one position for too long. Just do mayby one pass over. Couldn't see any streaking on them either.

I bought one but it's not worked
1 answer
Kmart will refund you or give you another one. I've used mine a few times the only downside is the streaks on my tiles. But quite a few diff brands streak also . I think I might look into seeing which ones don't streak.
Iqraasked
Is it good for carpets as well? I have toddler so I am bit concerned about my carpet cleaning.
1 answer
Hi Iqra I used it once on my rugs with the glider and a little dirt came out. They arnt really that dirty but i might see if I can use without the glider. Personally I think if you have a toddler you may be better off with an appliance that does everything . Check them out at the Goodguys they have ones that do hard floors and carpets. X
