Champagne taste on a beer budget. Don't go to Kookai, go to Kmart
My wardrobe strategy is simple. I love the Lego look, it's all about the basics and how you accessorise. One of my favourite things is to buy the $2 & $4 earrings and paint them with Oox nail polish to match my clothing. I'm particularly impressed by the inclusion of bow/ties and braces. The leggings are smashing and I've noticed the overall quality and style this season has gone up considerably and is on point. I love Kookai and Maggie T but it tickles me pink that Kmart are giving them a run for their money. The only bummer is no Afterpay in ...Read more
store, their rivals do but the fashion is a bit Sharon from Fountain Lakes. C'mon CEO, trial it. Give HR extra FTE,. I've spent close to $700 at a competitor because of this. Makes for an interesting business case, no?P.S. I still love my flannies and faux sheepskin boots but props to the stylists and designers. I'll stand out at the RSL but fit right in at The Oaks.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Audio system already broken!!
I don't usually leave negative feedback because I really like kmart overall.
But I bought a bluetooth micro sound system and one of the speaker connections is already broken!
After 10 minutes,,,, Come on man..
The speakers sounded good before one went dead, shame.
Don't buy audio or speaker products from kmart!

Fashions forward organisation
Kmart is a fashion forward company. From homewares to clothing, they’ve really turned the corner in the last few years. Kmart is always my first stop due to their affordable prices and modern products.

Appalling customer service
First of all, no stores actually answer their telephones within a reasonable time period - ever. I've been on hold to three stores just this morning trying to confirm stock levels and product availability having wasted time in vain in two other Sydney area outlets who didn't have the items I was looking for. Secondly, the out of stock situation is chronic and appalling - huge numbers of items and sizes missing, with great gaps throughout the stores on the shelves. This is exactly the reason Target in Canada closed within eighteen months of o...Read more
pening its stores at a loss of billions of dollars, and these mass merchandisers don't seem to have learned any of the lessons of the recent past. (Target in Australia is absolutely no better.) Third, the stock on the floor is often trashed, with no attention to merchandising - stuff throughout the store in total disarray, and, of course, inadequate numbers of staff to remediate, as the corporation's trying to keep their profits high. And when you draw management's attention to these things, they seem almost indifferent and very defensive. I note that Kmart now wants a significant percentage of the items' total cost to deliver, if you order online, instead of offering free delivery over a certain order amount - which means the customer is effectively paying a premium for the fact that the stores are chronically out of stock and one is forced to order online instead if one still wants the products. No one at KMart seems to realise that it's not the twentieth century anymore and that more agile marketers are offering the same product ranges at equally competitive prices with free delivery, which is what will ultimately do lacklustre retailers like KMart in. I predicted that the central Sydney Lincraft outlet would be closing down six months ago with its equally shoddy service and inventory management, and I noticed last week that this has indeed come to pass. Wake up, Australian retailers. Train your staff, manage your inventories, and don't take your customers for granted! I've now spent my money with independent local businesses instead, and was happy to pay the premium just to avoid that hugely depressing waste of time that was my morning trudging through Kmart stores and waiting for phones to be answered. I hadn't been to a Kmart store for almost a year and had hoped things had got better versus my last visit, but it's got even worse, I'm afraid. And the quality of many products doesn't justify even the relatively cheap prices. So many Australian retailers who were once well-known brands have collapsed in recent years that you're going to have to do better than this, Kmart. You're not too big to fail.Similar opinion? Feels Like A Massive $2 Store
The last 5-10 years has seen Kmart go to the dogs in terms of product range, quality and staff. Prior to the dreaded 2010s, most stuff was usually of a better diverse brand range and quality. Now nearly everything (apart from the toys) is generally all imported cheap Homemaker brand garbage from Bangladesh. Unlike say BigW who stock not only thier own generic House & Home brand - which is superior to Kmarts, but they stock well known brands in across a variety of items say from electrical right down to a bag of lollies.
Furthermore the staff ...Read more
are generally uptight looking teenagers who zoom from end of the bloody store to another and don't really care about helping customers out when needed. In addition the new layout in terms of the central location of the cashiers is a retail design stuffup of the millenium. Who were the idiots in head office who thought this 'innovative' new idea up? All it does is confuse shoppers and creat a big crowd in the middle of the store where people generally need to move freely to explore the store and shop. All in all it's turned into a glorified junk shop masquerading as a big brand quality retailer. If I need to get general homewares, clothes, linen etc. I will stick to my local Big W thanks. Kmart doesn't deserve to grow any further than what it needs to...I hope they go out of business quite frankly!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Awful cotton rug looks like a towel
I finally got my hands on the famous stripe rug in large only to realize i have just put a towel for a rug! Honestly it is my fault to believe that a 69 dollar rug would do it. Waste of time.

Used to be awful now it's awesome.
It's a good store now, they have a variety of on trend and exciting products and I'm never disappointed in the quality because everything is so reasonably priced. Their homewares range and their party section is particularly impressive and expansive.

Incompetent, unhelpful
Wish I could score it '0' out of 5. Completely incompetent staff at Lake Haven. Told 2 different things by different staff. Don't bother speaking to manager - just as bad.

Worst Hand held vacuum 2 in 1 Cordless Stick Vacuum
They must be putting reviews up from employees and friends to make this vacuum look great for everyone to buy. It is the worst vacuum I have ever used. Every time you use it, it wouldn’t pick up everything and you had to go over and over for it to pick up stuff and then the little stuff that was picked up would fall out of it when you moved it. It isn’t 5 star that goes on there site.
Do not buy it. Worst vacuum ever

Really good string lights, WOULD RECOMMEND
I bought these lights for my room and they are amazing, and work well. They are bright and super cute! They are also quite cheap, I am a teen who doesn’t have much money so these were also really good price wise! I totally recommend!!!

Dont buy the 8 cube shelve unit
The holes drilled were all off-centre and too short (hence unable to screw in the screws the entire way), There was nothing to connect the top and bottom half other than a small, loose, wooden rod in which the it wasnt stable at all.
Basically three it out the day I bought it

Crap vacuum. Definitely NOT worth 5 stars
I’ve heard nothing but good reviews about the 2200w bagless vacuum cleaner so I bought one from the Fountain Gate store. I vacuumed for about 5~10 minutes, emptied the container and now it’s not working. Not impressed.

purple sheets
I bought the deep purple sheets recently. I washed them and put them on my bed and they started to pill within the first few days. Very disappointed.
Beautiful colour, really good fit, such a bad product to sleep on.

Great toys
Mostly using Kmart for toddler/kids toys and am convinced this is the best place for the toys, especially the wooded (MDF) puzzles! Some toys are KMart own and are absolutely ingenious, love-love-love them! Toddler clothing too, can’t beat $2 tees and shorts that would only be worn a few times anyway!

Why when it's busy are so many(well all of them except self serve) checkouts unmanned? Must be saving money again I guess!
Tania McDasked
Yesterday my mum bought me a white queen size sheet set from kmart boronia but she didnt realise i had got myself sheet set 2 weeks ago.
Of course i dont know what i did with the receipt but its kmarts brand and they have always given refunds so i went to return sheet set and i was refused refund.
Why? My mum paid cash and its their brand and she just bought it a day ago. A friend of mine returned quilt cover without receipt and he got a refund no questions asked. Why was i treated differently. Its ridiculous.
So they only refund without receipt if a female is serving a good looking male ??????

each store does different things it all depends on who the manager is on the day & what staff are on the returns desk & what mood they are in, try another store
Has it to do with the huge theft problem retail outlets are having to deal with

How did KMart decide that centre checkouts were a smart thing? I have heard from a number of people that they don't shop at KMart since the change. I too avoid it as much as possible. It seems soooo dumb to me. The other thing that keeps me away from KMart is the stupid requirement to enter the number of bags used. It is not needed and it doesn't even specify whether they are your bags or Kmart bags. If they are Kmart bags I will scan them like everywhere else. I refuse to enter the number, which would be zero anyway, as a matter of principle. One staff member told me that I had to do it. I told her that I didn't, and walked out, leaving the two items behind. I don't blame the floor staff, the management and system are at fault, in my opinion. Why did KMart waste so much money on centre checkouts that upsets so many customers?

Have you asked the store manager or contacted Kmart it is the only way you are going to get the answer.
Yes, i spoke to the front end controller about the bag issue and she said that was the way it is and added that she didn't want to talk anymore about it, before turning away from me and walking away. She didn't want to know about it or wish to pass on the feedback. I also sent something to the KMart website.
Thanks Sister, I corrected the typos, etc.
