Dead after 9 months. Kogan stalling on refund / repair.
The television refused to switch on after 9 months. Have to go through Kogan’s warranty process (can’t actually talk with anyone just endless messages back and forth). Because this television is in a rental property I had to purchase a replacement Immediately (not another Kogan - never again). I had the dead Kogan unit packaged up and it is waiting at my property manager‘s office for pickup. Problem is it seems impossible for Kogan to organise a courier. The first courier was mysteriously cancelled and now I am stuck with Kogan saying I need to...Read more
deal with the courier and the courier company saying only Kogan can organise. Kogan “help” desk has gone radio silence. So I have to pay for a replacement television while the dead one sits packaged up taking up space in my property manager’s office.3 comments
So the good news, a replacement is on its way. A refurbished replacement. So I am getting someone else’s faulty television.
And the finale... after going through NSW Dept of Fair Trading (and complete zero response from Kogan in the meantime), Kogan are standing by their right to send a second hand television in the event ... Read more
that the original is not able to be repaired. In a gesture of “goodwill” the customer service rep condescendingly extended the warranty so that I will have extra 12 months on the second hand unit rather than the remaining 2 months of the original warranty. So after 5 weeks, 25 sent emails, tweets, Facebook direct messages, chasing couriers, submission to Fair Trading, conversations with Fair Trading, we finally have closure. Anyone from Kogan reading this kind of understand how totally un-customer centric this is? Anyone from Kogan actually care?

Cheap but poor picture quality
We bought this TV for my mum who is in aged care. The care centre only provided old SD LCD TVs. We wanted something a chromecast/apple-tv would work with, but didn't want to spend a fortune on either. The price of the Kogan 40" FullHD TV seemed to good to be true, esp when compared to other 40" full-hd tv's in other stores, and as the truism says, "If it seems too good to be true, then it probably is", in our case has proven true.
The actual TV is ok physically, and is very plain looking, sound is ok (for my mum) but the biggest disappoint...Read more
ment is with the colour reproduction. The colour are all washed out, and although we have tweaked the picture settings and the colour temp settings, the colours are still very poor. We have an open support case with Kogan on this, so I can't comment yet on their support. I do not know if this is indicative of all of the 40" full-hd led tvs or if the panel in our TV is bad or something. To set the record straight, we were not expecting excellent picture quality given the TVs price point, but neither did we expect it to be barely better than a b/w picture either.Similar opinion? You get what you pay for
I bought this tv a few months ago, yes it is cheap and in some respects behaves cheaply. But all in all I have been happy with the tv, what I am not happy about is Kogan using the line that if an app does not work on their tv's then it is the app developer that is at fault. Netflix is an international app that over 95% of applicable devices are compatible. The other 5% of tv manufacturer use a cut down versions of Android so their tv's can operate efficiently and quick, at the expense of compatibility.
Now the likes of Netflix is available i...Read more

T V Review
The quality of this t v was the worst buy i have ever bought. Yes it was cheap. But it is substanded in finish and sound it is like back to the old times to use.. When you change channels you have to click on the number 2 - 3 times to get what you want. Spoke to sean in help department. Not his fault but no help.

Mediocre picture quality and terrible sound quality. Avoid this one.
Sadly I found my new 40" Full HD TV purchased in May 2015 was a big disappointment. Although it was a cheap TV, I thought that with new technology it would be an upgrade to my 8 year old 32" LG. Seems this is not the case. While the sales experience was good (website good, ordering easy, delivery quick), and the TV physically looked good, the sound and picture were a big disappointment.
The picture displayed subtle horizontal lines across the screen when displaying solid slabs of color, e.g. on a DVD menu screen; had obvious motion delay ev...Read more
en watching normal tv; seemed to have excessive 'artifacts' on the screen; and generally the picture quality was below par (not very crisp, contrast, color, all seemed not quite right). I assumed having a Samsung panel would mean Samsung quality viewing, but this is definitely not the case. Image quality is subjective true, but certainly this was below my expectations. The sound was, not to mince words, terrible. It could best be described as sounding like using your mobile phone speaker to play music. It was very tinny and the default settings made it hard to understand unless you had it cranked up very loud. "Movie" mode sound was a bit better, but I would not be happy watching even regular TV with it, let alone sitting down to a good movie. Very poor depth of sound. Actually the worst I've ever heard from a TV, except maybe those ancient tiny single speaker CRT TVs from the good old days, and even then I'm not sure about that. You do get a lot of 'features' for a little amount of money, such as the TV recording, all the right connectors, the size, etc. It all sound reasonable on paper, however when it comes down to it your TV should be about the picture and sound quality first, and this TV falls short of what most people would consider minimum acceptable quality for a TV. I will be taking advantage of the Kogan 14 day returns policy for a refund. I do at least give Kogan credit for having a reasonable policy regarding this, given it is an online only service. However I'm still not likely to purchase again, or at least not one of the Kogan branded products.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Do NOT Buy This TV Waste of Time and Money
This TV was bought 2 years ago and has been problematic since day one. The TV Tuner is terrible as every 2 minutes the signal flickers and drops out. This doesn't happen on our new TV.
The sound is really tinny.
The color accuracy is terrible as when watching TV Whites appear as cream
The remote is horrible as it has to be pressed several times before TV responds

Very poor sound
I bought one of these and while the picture is ok, the sound is terrible. Ive tried every setting including trying to set up something decent on custom but the sound is awful. It's tinny sounding and gets quite irritatiing after a while. Shame because the rest of the tv is ok.

Avoid at all costs
We received this abominably wretched box of garbage as a gift/replacement set. I will not write lies about it as so many other "reviewers" have previously. This is not trolling either. This is a review from your customer.
My thoughts on sound quality:
I give it 0 out of 10 for sound. It makes sound. Sound can be heard from this set, but apart from this provision, the quality of the sound this "television" produces can only be measured in degrees of awfulness and human shock/disbelief.
I own a smart phone, the sound from my smart phone's s...Read more

Great deal
This is an excellent TV set for the price, with features I'd never expect to find in a product in this range of price. Using my external HDD plugged in USB port and Chromecast in HDMI, the TV set is perfect.
