Very Disappointing...
It's 55" and slim unfortunately that's about all the positives. It has no buttons only remote control, so if you lose the remote it's completely unusable. The picture quality is SHOCKING. THE stand is very weak-thin little legs awkwardly Spaced far apart so youll need a very long TV unit. If you weren't planning to wall mount the TV set then make sure you have a very long TV unit to fit it on.

have a kogan smart tv "KALED553DSMTZA" that says loading when powered on. I have formatted a USB, plugged it into usb1 and held down "volume up" when powering on to upgrade the firmware, as per your website.
I get the first blue screen reading the usb but then the TV flashes "usb in fail"and then the tv goes to the loading screen again.
i have tripple checked i have the right firmware and so on so i am unsure why this isnt working. could you please give me some assistance with this.

Junk. Just junk.
I've had this TV for three years and have just replaced it with a projector. It was, and always has been useless. Sure, it's big. the resolution is fine if you're far back enough. But you have to update the firmware every other week, or it just gets stuck on a loop trying to load up. It can literally take 15 minutes just to eventually turn on, but most of the time you have to do an update, which is just moronic. I've never used the TV part of it, I only use it as a glorified second monitor for my computer. So waiting around for it to just turn ...Read more
on is the most aggravating thing you can imagine. Kogan has never rectified the problem with an update to patch the issue, which is what made me decide never to buy from them again. They will claim this is an isolated issue, but if you read through these reviews you'll see it's common. It's just a rubbish product, from a product rebrander that simply does not care about quality, or even usability.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Bad TV.
Will work fine for a month then will take forever to start with the white KOGAN screen. I use the Firmware update, Works again for a month or so then the cycle starts all over again.
Just buy a better tv for more money and save yourself a lot of grief...

Kogan 55" Agora Smart 3D LED TV (Full HD)
Our 3D just about 1 year old, suddenly no picture and only sound, so we called up Kogan on 4/12 they sent us some software update via e-mail to be installed on the TV, we tried that but that didn’t rectify the fault, they arranged for TV to be taken to their local repairer, my husband took a day off work to be at home for the guy to come pick it up next day, after 5 days we got the TV back, it worked ok for only 5 minutes, again the same issue (no picture, just sound), called Kogan again, they said, TV now needs to go to their service centre in...Read more
Melbourne, they arranged their own courier (TOLL), we had to buy a box to pack the TV, again hubby took another day off work, (so this is 2 days worth of his pay gone because of their substandard product and their repairer not been able to diagnose the fault correctly), so that TOLL could pick up the TV on 15/12, its 29/12 today and we have been calling Kogan regularly and they still haven’t received the TV… Poor customer service, inconsiderate, we have been asking for a replacement TV as its now almost 1 month that we have been without a TV as this was the only TV we had, also I have 2 kids on school holidays not being able to watch TV during the festive holiday season. All our pleas going on deaf ears…. Very disappointed with the product, more so with the customer service who are not ready to understand our plight.Similar opinion? Worst TV Ever
About as smart as a fart in an elevator. Don't go near this TV, you will be lucky if anything other than the TV works. People faces glow orange and you just can't adjust enough. Processor must be as big as a pea as nothing will work although Kogan feels if it works 1 in 100 times then that's enough to claim it works. No Kogan Ever Again,

Has a potato for a processor, not capable of being a smart TV
Pros:
- Good screen
- Works well as a dumb TV
Cons:
- Has a SOC that is way underpowered for the purpose of a smart TV (I would gladly pay $100 more for something decent).
- 512MB of ram is nowhere near enough memory, the whole memory pool is almost used up just running the operating system, no wonder everything is so laggy.
- Takes 5 minutes to bootup and be semi usable as a smart TV

Terrible TV!! Nothing but trouble!
I bought this TV for Xmas last year, needed to do a firmware upgrade on it within the first couple of days of purchase, the upgrade wiped the TV of its software and was left with a TV that did not work. Sent the TV away for repair, still not able to stream anything live, which is the whole idea of purchasing a smart TV. TV won't recognise and other devices that are plugged into it, and does not stream you tube, Netflix, or won't stream or play any apps such as live sport applications. It can only be used for watching television and for what I paid for this TV, I could have bought a far better television that would work properly from a retail outlet. Hope this saves someone he headaches I've had with it.

Get What you paid for - never another Kogan product for me
Why is it so many of us search for a bargain, buy something that is an order of magnitude cheaper than other comparable brands and then get all bitter and twisted when it fails... WELL THATS ME!
Having said that though, if you advertise a product that does xyz, then it is reasonable for consumers to expect that the product will deliver on the sales hype. This TV was OK for general watching and even the occasional 3D blueray, however the "Smart" part of the TV had an IQ in the single digits and was from the start..... useless. Even after I did...Read more

Reasonable TV - you get what you pay for
I originally bought the 55" borderless LED TV. Worked fine for a few months before developing issues with the picture (massive white/pale patches in dark scenes).
I contacted Kogan who arranged for the TV to be picked up. The pickup/delivery was a real headache but this is Toll's fault, not Kogan's.
After having my TV for a few days I was advised that it was faulty, out of stock and therefore unable to be replaced in the short-term until new stock came in - but that I could get a similar item of similar value. I picked the KALED553DSMTZA....Read more
Honestly it's a solid TV for the price you pay. 'Smart' TV's are a load of junk - get a computer/smart phone! These features are only ever basic and limited IMO. A TV cannot replace your desktop computer! Picture quality is decent. My only gripes would be the lack of customisation available to the user as I prefer to adjust more settings, and the previous 55" borderless TV allowed me to do so but this one does not. I watch most of my media files via external HD plugged in via my Blu Ray player - picture quality here is fantastic. The only time I hate the picture quality is trying to watch fast-motion sports such as AFL. The TV just can't keep up and the lines aren't crisp. Everything looks a bit fuzzy and hard to focus on.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Worst TV I've ever owned!!
I bought this tv about a year ago and its been nothing short of a nightmare ever since.
TV is very VERY slow on any smart tv function, in fact most of them require the power to be turned off to unfreeze it.
Youtube freezes constantly then comes up with random colours and squares on screen and is unwatchable, again requiring a switch off.
Using an external HDD is difficult and movies usually jitter until you forward a scene with the remote then go back a scene to fix it up....even using the usb3 port its still slow.
Plugging in a webcam for skype does not work and even with a logitech C920 HD camera the picture is unviewable.

DO NOT BUY
This has to be the WORST tv I have ever bought! People who have given it a good review, what a laugh.
To start I ordered it in October, I didn't receive it till late January because there was "issues" with the delivery. It worked fine for the first 2 weeks. Other than that it is a pest. My tv has always had a black mark on the screen. This is due to some fluff under the screen. When I asked them to fix it they wanted me to send the whole thing back with all the packaging. I clearly didn't keep the packaging because keeping a box that fits a 55" TV in it isn't small.
The smart function is a joke.
Laggy
Slow
Resets
Stops working
I don't even use it anymore.

This TV was sent back
Firmware fixes some problems but not all. Smart TV buys are not smart as stated in an electronics tv. The smart software running becomes outdated, and mostly, after some years is abandoned, leaving you with just the TV part working as you want. The best idea if you want a smart TV? Use a small computer with TV screen as display and wireless keyboard. The smart part is a gimmick. As far as not being able to return it: If the firmware does not fix it, then its not fit for the purpose. ACCC claims on this are fully consumer supported. Of course manyfacturers will say otherwise but if you bought it for the smarts paid the extra, and it does not work satisfactorily then you have a proper claim....

Do not go near it
I bought my two kids a 46" Kogan LED TV for Christmas and when we turned it on all three of us simultaneously said there's something wrong with the sound - it was literally like it was coming from a tin can. After adjusting through the TV's settings the sound was still extremely thin, lacking any presence or bass to give it depth or body.
I presumed there was something wrong so got in touch with Kogan and had a real battle getting the TV returned. I was astonished when they told me there was nothing wrong with it and the guy tried to bamboozl...Read more

Screen has black patch/bleeding
Not happy at all with this TV.. Was excited to get my 55" 3D so called "smart TV" ( dumb more like it) works as a TV should but forget about the Internet smart TV side as its total rubbish and you spend more time swearing at it then getting it to work. Even YouTube won't load properly and freezes ( I have no trouble on my WD Media player so it's not my wifi) I've had the TV for about 16 months and a few weeks ago it started acting weird and now there's a big dark spot or bleeding on the bottom right corner of the screen which will only grow I'm...Read more
told so yay for me..so I guess I have to get used to the dark spot till I can replace it with a known brand.. TV also takes a long time from day one to start up .. Don't buy these cheap agora TVs as they are cheap because they aren't good. I bought 2 so I guess my other one will surprise me too after warranty runs out.( hopefully not)1 comment

Poor excuse for a smart TV (or dumb TV)
I have had this tv since December. I had originally ordered it for delivery in November but due to 'quality' issues, Kogan delayed it another month. I have been using Android o/s for a variety of products for a while so was quite eager to test out its capabilities as a smart tv. I have been severely disappointed. The system is unstable (even for Android). Applications will crash after a couple of minutes of use (Browser, youtube etc). All attempts to stabilise them have failed. Worse still the DTV will crash. This will require a hard restart wh...Read more
ich means another long wait for the tv to startup again. Putting the tv on standby can also crash the DTV requiring a hard restart. My family has given up using it to watch media files as its too hard to use (even with MX Player installed- forget about the preinstalled media player which is rubbish). The EPG does not work unless wifi is on. Warning for those that own it, watch out for the micro sd slot as there is a gaping hole next to it. Miss the slot and the card falls into the back of the tv never to be seen again (from experience). The picture quality is average, 3D average and sound is below average I have tried raising support calls with Kogan but so far their suggestions have not been helpful. Their support is awful. You get one line questions back which after answering you don't get a response back.1 comment

Not many issues at all for such a cheap price
Picture is pretty good, not sure about sound as i have it running to a surround sound system, has a nice design, boots up quick for a smart tv, sometimes it can be a bit laggy, wireless is slow (not sure if tv or my [censored word removed] modem) does pretty good on ethernet though an ad-hoc network (computer sending its internet connection to tv via ethernet port), lovee the fact it has a wireless hot spot, cant really judge the 3d as i do not have a 3d player or 3d disc yet lol, have had the tv for a few months and am pretty happy :)
Wireless hotspot, clear picture, big screen, nice design
Slow wireless, can be laggy, cannot use music player and internet at once
