Does a satisfactory job
We have the 12,000BTU version of this. We got this after reading good reviews of the Kogan-branded portable air cons on Choice. Have had it for 2 summers now and it is still going strong.
It has been used in the room for our newborn, which is about 9m2. On a hot day we may need to turn it on an hour prior to going into the room. The compressor can make some noise, but the child sleeps through it, probably because its always been there. The air-flow swing blades make a creaking sound when it swings, so we don't use that function. The temperature sensor seems to be a degree lower to our other thermometer in the room, but that is not a problem for us.
For $370 it is decent value for money.

Ok. .Ok
I bought it from Kogan and it was delivered within 7 days. I am using it since December 2017. It struggles a bit to cool the room when the temp gets 35+. It just blows cold air into the room and after a few hours the room does feel cooler (colder) but as soon as you turn off the unit the room heats up again. You need to be close to the unit to feel the cold air. The biggest drawback is its swing function. It just swings up and down. It's a little noisy but not too annoying. Overall configurations wise it is much cheaper than other Brands available in the market.

Light, Simple, Cheap, Works very Well
Small moveable air conditioner which could be fitted almost everywhere needed. The unit is very simple to setup & operate. design is very robust. It delivers cold air very fast. It come with remote control. A little bit noisy but for the low $300 price, can't complain really. It works really well for small to medium size room.

As described
Happy with the cooling for my bedroom product as advertised not too noisy. The good thing about is that the tray hardly fills up. Has a function of a timer which is a good idea for the bedroom. Came with free shipping it took a while to receive by post which only down side.

Pretty Cool
Bought this from Kogan after seeing some decent reviews. The reviews are correct in saying that it's a solid unit and isn't too noisy. The window kit is a nice bonus and the wheels make it easy to move around. Actually I only received it yesterday but I haven't stopped using it since. It's actually a portable unit, as many similar products without wheels claim to be portable, but practically aren't. (These things weigh over 20kgs)

Keeps me cool for the summer and the price is fair
So far I am relatively satisfied with this unit, the performance has been average, it's nothing special as it won't cool a whole house cool. However, it keeps my room cool enough for the summer. The unit isn't extremely portable as it's very heavy, but for a portable AC, it's understandable. Installation was a breeze as it was simply a plug in and put the tube out install. The unit is very loud compared to my wall AC unit, it blasts the whole room with air.

Loud as a truck
Are you satisfied with the unit's cooling performance?
if only judging by cooling performance i would give it a solid 4/5.
How portable is the unit? How easy is its installation?
Unit heavy, but with wheels it's got some bare minimum portability 3/5 (but it doesn't bother me as i don't move it).
Installation is quite simple and instruction was nice and clear 5/5.
How quiet or loud is the unit?
VERY **** LOUD, i don't understand how can people write comment such as :"nice for kids bedroom", or "very quite". It's advertised to ...Read more

Excellent for the Price. Good Quality
Very happy with this unit. Cools the bedroom and an average size living room down well, though please note separately not together. Great in the bedroom as it doesn't dry the air out like other types and you don't wake up with a dry throat. Struggles a little in rooms without roof insulation though that is to be expected. Worked well on a 40+ day in rooms with an insulated ceiling. Make sure you have weather seals or seal your outside doors as notice it pulls the air in and it has to work harder to cool if not sealed. Great qualities at a very...Read more
reasonable price. Only gripe is the window connection kit slider is not long enough, though the connector which is round is absolutely wonderful as it locks in and doesn't fall out like others on the market. Would definitely recommend. Have never bought a Kogan product before though decided to give it a go as they have received a consumer rated award for best portable air conditioners.Similar opinion? sturdy machine, still not enough to cool down a room when its 40C
Bought this machine and was hope that it can cool down a room when the heatwave come during summer, unfortunately, even this 16000btu portable unit still can't do it, the exhaust hose is getting so hot so we use emergency blanket to wrap around it, so think again if you really want to get a really cool room, may be split system is the only way.

Noisy but it works
The cooling is actually pretty good for a small size room, plus make sure all windows are close.
It can be pretty loud no matter what mode is in, there are 3 modes, DRY, COOL, and FAN.
It has a internal water storage, so it doens't have to constantly plug on to a draining system for the cooling system to run.
I tried doing it on cool mode for a day, and when the unit is cool enough, change it to fan mode, so the water storage won't fill up. I have gotten the unit for 3 months, and i haven't drain it yet. It might have dried by itself.
Unit is very easy to install. Basically plug and play, except for the hot air outlet, that one can be tricky, but once you know the right way, it can be easily done.

Keeping me cool for its second summer
I am sitting in my bedroom next to this unit as I write. My nice cool bedroom. This unit is more than capable of keeping even s large master bedroom cool on the hottest summer days. It won't cool a house down but for keeping a single room cool it's more than effective enough.

When you can't afford a split system
The unit is heavy but on castors. It was easy to install in my sliding windows and the duct exhaust kit is extendable to fit a variety of windows. The cooling unit is powerful, hence the weight, and cools my small living area beautifully. This is my first air conditioning unit and I wish I had invested sooner. Kogan received an endorsement for the best value air conditioners from a major industry ratings organisation and I totally agree. Great value for money, well built and a tad stylish! Good product Logan!

Good for a tiny room. Struggles with Aussie heat on hot days.
I've had this thing for 3 months now! Was simple to setup (even window kit) and worked out of the box. It is a small unit designed for mid-heat. If you want to cool down a little nook - or the kind of room that only just fits a bed - then this unit takes the edge off. Just. It depends on the day. If it's a 30 degree day - the kind where you almost don't need aircon - then it'll do a good job of getting the room feeling fresh. But if it's a scorching 36 degree or hotter day and you want to get the room to 28 or so, expect to leave it on f...Read more
or a few hours to get the temp down to not even 30 degrees. I don't have a lot of experience with portable aircons - but in travelling Australia I've stayed in lots of motels with very old aircon units. I've turned plenty of those old brown wall units on and have had my entire motel room cool 30 minutes later. I expected the same of this, considering my tiny bedroom size, small windows and it being modern technology. But it just feels underpowered. If I have it blowing straight at me on a hot day (36 - 38) then it keeps me mostly comfortable. Two final things: it's loud enough that the person in the room next door wrote me a complaint note that they couldn't sleep when I had it on in my room. It also blows out hot air though a pipe to an open Window, so if you have it poked out of a window next to another room - make sure windows in surrounding rooms are shut! The hot air output tube is thin and isn't insulated either... and while the Window kit was actually quite reasonable, I can feel a LOT of heat radiating from the pipe before it reaches the window. Mine is fully extended to reach the window and I reakon I'm losing 30% efficiency just from that alone. So if you are able to locate the aircon unit right next to the window it's going to be better. Or you can wrap the pipe in al-foil which helps. TL;DR - spend the extra 100 and get a 16000 BTU unit for anything other than a tiny room. It doesn't handle Australian summer heat. Expect it to be noisy!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

How Can Kogan sell items that have not been tested
The sound is good for me,It is Not The Problem of it,it Leaked Water all over my Carpet in my Bedroom,i really think that Kogan should test their products before sending them to Customers, especially when the product is Advertised as not needing emptying out the water as it is built with 'Misting Technology' that gets rid of the water,it's difficult for an Aged Pensioner who has disabilities to live in a bedroom that has water soaked carpet from a Shonky Air Conditioner. I contacted them about it,they sent me another one at no cost to me which ended up being Perfect,I'm Completly Satisfied about the second Air Con. but it Sticks in my mind why they didn't test the first one before they delivered it to me.

Great value for money
The cold air is fantastic! The external drainage feature is also a plus. The only negative I have is that the cold air shoots upwards. It was hard to tell from the product images how the air venting / swing would operate. Delivery was super swift (3 days). I have no regrets buying from Kogan.

Happy with it.
Bought this to replace a 5.5 kw moretti from bunnings. Chose it over a Polo because it won a canstar award and it was on sale for $397. (Before shipping etc) The delivery was super slow. If AOL can do it in 24hrs I think the 2 week delivery is a bit over the top. The first thing I noticed is that it as extremely quiet compared to my old one. That was impressive. Can sit beside it and watch tv no problem. The second thing I notice is the manual is rubbish and mostly left us scratching our head. The window connections are good but took me a...Read more
while to work out. Love the wall connector with cap. We set it up in the lounge room which is the hottest room in the house and around 16 - 20 m sq. It has doors and block out curtains and this unit only just manages to keep it cool. Definately feels air conditioned but comfortable not freezing. The fan is not as powerful as our old one so if the kids leave the door open the room will heat back up almost immediately. Overall it is better than the Moretti. We are in QLD with high humidity and are running it on AUTO which also dehumidifies as required. it needs the drainage hose to connect out the window as it is releasing about 40L of water a day. Definately happy with it until we get something more permanent.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Noisy and doesn’t cool the room
Extremely loud even on low setting. Doesn’t cool a small lounge room even with all other doors closed off. You have to sit in front of it to get the cold air. You would NOT be able to sleep with the noise. Window kit came with a screw that was too large so had to go to the hardware to get another. I would not recommend this product.

I have had my units for 4 years and can’t fault it but recently it has started to blow warm air when on cooling mode, any idea what could be wrong, regulator or do these units require regasing?
