I am extremely disappointed that there is no cook book available for download !! There is going to be too much trial and error involved using this appliance. Sorry I bought it! I would have thought that an appliance such as this would be accompanied by a more detailed user manual and some basic cooking instructions!

Lower if I could!
After two weeks of loving my TB it broke down....lots of noise, but no spinning blades...would shut itself off intermittently....overloaded on very few ingredients...sizzled when turned on. Very disappointing....if they fixed the issues it would be good value for money. On one Facebook recipe sharing site it appears 50% of those on the site have had to return the.... Very poor quality control....
When it worked well, it could do anything!
Too many issues to count. Broke down, sent back after two weeks.

had it 3 months and works perfectly besides delivery box is so robust I could send it back 20 times if necessary under warrantee - best invention ever - last nite I put can of mexican beans with equal quantitiy of pork stock, fresh jalopeno peppper and cilantro white wine for 5 minutes and then added cubed roast pork at end - bloody fantastic result

Arrived faulty
A much anticipated Christmas present - it arrived two weeks late - was faulty from the start - the handle was loose with a suspected stray screw rolling around inside. The machine worked for about 10 secs, then broke down - chopping onion, which had already been quartered. No satisfaction from Kogan - there are no "real" people on the other end, just automated email replies. What to do?

Needs improvement
While there are some happy users out there ..... I wanted to be one of them but it was short lived. The fact that there were very limited instructions and its basically up to the user to go figure out the machine is not good enough. It seems to me Kogan rushed this product to make the Christmas sales disregarding quality workmanship.
I say this because having combined the slack Kogan instructions with recipes from the Bellini my machine smoked and fired. It could not handle mixing. Was it a dud! Will they improve their design and properly t...Read more

Great Idea, Terrible execution.
First off I'm not a Kogan hater, I have one of their TVs which has been brilliant. I bought a thermoblend during their boxing day sale for $200 got the 5 year extended warranty. For the price I thought it was too good to be true considering a thermomix is up around the $2k mark. Was looking forward to getting it and making heaps of nice food. First use worked fine all good, on second use put ingredients in turned on, when finished nothing was mixed, tried again and noticed blade wasn't spinning. Took jug off and inspected blade, the gear that d...Read more

On the positive side Kogan although a bit slow and having to wait on the phone for 40min were happy to take it back, although refund took another 2 weeks. Saw another similar product in Good Guys the ThermoFoodPro Superchef. I decided to buy despite being a bit dearer, had it for about 2 weeks now, we have made tons of receipes cakes, rissotto, soup, almond milk, etc hasn't missed a beat. Price. Refund process simple. Had promise, but failed miserably
The machine started off working really well (for about 3 days), and then it all went down hill. The speed function was stuck on the highest setting, which caused the blade cover to fly off and get shredded, then the machine would shut itself off every few seconds with only light loads in it. Once this started happening repeatedly, I switched it off and contacted Kogan. Although a bit slow, their customer service has been pretty good and a full refund was issued without hassle. Perhaps my machine was a dud, but I have heard a number of other sim...Read more
ilar stories from first release customers. Lack of decent user manual and even a few basic recipes is the machines biggest downfall. Without these simple guides it makes the machine difficult to use. I adapted a number of receipe's from my mum's Thermomix recipe book, which has now led me to purchase the real deal instead of mucking around with cheap immitations. I hope Kogan can get their act together, as the potential for a good machine is there. A good point to consider in future is to avoid purchasing the first release of any new products. Wait until the bugs have been ironed out of the later releases. Price. Has potential Faulty, lacking instructional manual and basic recipes4 comments
Wow - I put a request in to get my refund on 7 January and am still waiting!!!!
mine took 2 weeks, give them another email or ring them if you've got a spare 40min

Great value for money
We've been using our Kogan Thermoblend several times a day for about 4 weeks now and absolutely love it. It's encouraged us to eat a lot more vegetables, as it's so quick and easy to woosh up a delicious chopped salad with nuts or beans; also does the most velvety green-smoothies ever (favourite so far: spinach, kiwifruit, ice, frozen blueberries, unsweetened apple juice and a dash of soda). Sorbet in seconds! Just buzz fruit and ice. Add a splash of booze and stick it in a fancy glass, delicious. Oh wait, that's a cocktail :P Does great frozen...Read more
cocktails. As others have mentioned, it doesn't weigh or have reverse, but considering it's currently a tenth of the price of a Thermomix I think that's not much to complain about. We've vegetarian, so have no idea if it's capable of cooking a meat casserole as others have complained about - but since there is no recipe book, Kogan haven't claimed it IS heavy-duty enough to do such things, so maybe it isn't. It's still a hundred times better than every other food processor I've ever owned. Incredible value for money, and if you're worried it won't last then pay a little extra for extended warranty. Our experience with Kogan's after-sales service has been fantastic. So easy to clean. Add water and a splash of cheap white vinegar for a minute or two on speed 5 and heat 90 if needed and it cleans itself. The handle came loose when we first got it, but Kogan quickly send out a replacement. Could do with better instructions and some basic recipes, but we googled Bellini, Thermomix etc and have found heaps of websites and even pdf recipe books for free.Similar opinion? Great value for money
I'm loving this product. It's great value for money - sturdy, easy to use (even without a comprehensive manual), easy to clean. I've made super cakes, smoothies, risotto, salads and more. Still working out the heating side of things and have mixed results with recipes involving heating/cooking (this could be my inexperience with the machine rather than the machine itself). If you can't afford or don't want to spend on a thermomix, this is a great alternative.
Easy to use, excellent food processor/blender
Limited manual however there are lots of recipes on line for these kinds of machines.

Amazing machine making time in the kitchen so much more fun
In love with the machine, it makes cooking so easy, and most of the time everything is done in the one bowl, making a lot less cleaning. You can do as it says, cook, blend, chop, grate, steam, crush ice. you can turn your normal sugar into icing sugar. Something easy like 'le rice' is even easier as it heats and stirs the whole time, so you set and forget. Cheesecake is also simple, melt the butter in the bowl, add the biscuits and it crushes and mixes it all together, base complete, then mixing the filling, it blends up 2 Cream cheese tubs and...Read more
sugar with a breeze, and the rest of the ingredients blend together. So simple. Today I tried a savoury item herb cheese pull apart, it warmed the water, mixed up the dough ( to rise the dough I had to do it traditionally) greater the cheese, chopped up herbs. Everything, it's neat easy to use, safe, does exactly what it says it can do on the website. Price is much better than all the other brands that are on the market. It also has individual selection buttons for the time and temp etc, making it easy to set it for you needs The user manual is the only thing I found lacking, all you receive is a. Piece of paper sending you back to the website and its online, there is also no recipes to get you started on using it, to give you the confidence of exactly what this machine is capable of2 comments
Print the Users Manual from the Help page. And check it out every time you going to make something, to make sure you use the right setting. Then you should have no problems ;-)
Print out the users Manual and while learning how to use the TB, read it the first few week when you going to use the TB, just to be sure you are using the right speed etc. etc Love my TB

Pretty happy so far
I received my thermoblend for Xmas, at first I was scared to use it because it came with very limited instructions and no recipes. After reading the manual several times and looking at recipes for other thermo machines I got some confidence to give it a go. So far I am very pleased with what I have done. elicious thermomix recipe called CADA, and lots of different smoothies (which have been great for getting hidden veggies into my 2yr old because it blitzed them up so well that he had no idea they were in there). I did get some burnt spots on my SS jug when cooking which I haven't put much effort into removing yet but it hasn't effected the taste or texture of any other things I have made. After reading quite a few people having smoke and motor issues I am still cautious and keep an eye on it but so far so good and for the price you can't expect it to be an exact replica of a thermomix, so it doesn't bother me that it doesn't weigh or have a reverse function (which I get around by using the blade guard) and steaming and cooking at the same time isn't an issue either as that wasn't something I got it for anyway. Overall I am fairly happy with it for the price that I paid. Allows me to cook from scratch with ease, price, easy clean up, very versatile No dedicated recipe book, very poor instruction manualSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Disappointed customer
The machine looks quite slick and if it had lived up to the blurb we would have been very happy. Unfortunately this machine has lots of issues, not least of which is an underpowered motor that cannot deal with anything thicker than soup and will not work for long on speed 1.
On several occasions the motor has stopped working (overheated). Another issue is burning in two spots inside the jug, even on moderate temperatures. Ash frequently falls from the machine. The Facebook group "Kogan Thermoblend" has many customers who have had smoke pour...Read more

The machine doesn't have a reverse function but does have a blade cover which if works fine if the basic instructions are followed and the blade cover is in the correct position. The machine doesn't steam and cook at the same time but for me that's not a major factor - I will just steam the traditional way - it's really not that hard. Great value for money
With a friend whose had a Thermomix for 5 years we put the Kogan one through her paces...alright it doesn't come with a cookbook (what does for $250.00) and has no reverse. Once we translated Kogan language to Thermomix it works the same. We cooked solidly and it worked fine for a machine that cost $250.00 the food was beautiful and it certainly saved time.
Inexpensive way to trial before you spend $2000 and works great. Cuts down cooking time and really easy to use once you get the hang of it.
No accessories to buy and Not a wrong but not as durable as German machinery and you could say the same about cheap sewing machines.

I purchased the Termoblend from the Boxing Day sales email from Kogan. I first read all reviews on this website and they seemed positive enough to give it a go as the price was too good to refuse. Excellent thermal machine for the price
I purchased the Thermoblend from Kogan just after Christmas and since it arrived, I have been using it everyday, several times a day. Not bad but faulty
Now I wasn't expecting a miracle machine for $200 but I do expect it to work functionally.
I've made a great range of foods but had the motor stop on the third use- the blades are pretty hopeless and always leave ice and fruit uncrushed when I make smoothies, it doesn't handle large quantities of food so you have to do two batches.
It is a time saver when it works correctly but I find the bowl heats if you are just using it to blend and when I cook no matter how much I lower the temperature or how short I get at least 3 large burn marks :S.

Great Value For Money So Far
No - it's not a Thermomix for $1800 - this is $200. I certainly don't expect it to break down, regardless of price, but I don't expect it to have all the functions of a Thermomix either. For me, I cannot justify $1800+ on a kitchen appliance that costs more than my oven, cooktop and washing machine combined.

d processor that I ended up selling due to a design fault and spent $80 after carefully researching a food blender that would crush ice - and didn't. Our new Bosch washing machine needed a quick fix after a couple of months and Nespresso had to swap our Aeroccino, so it seems that you have to almost be lucky these days to have something work anyway and it doesn't always make a difference what the brand is as we've had cheapie TV sets work for years and expensive ones that fail. So far, I have made - mince spaghetti sauce, sorbets, ice cream, cakes, a chilli and sauces and it has coped brilliantly. I haven't made soups yet, but I think they will be easy. The instructions are awful, in fact non-existent, but the (terrible) user manual can be downloaded from the Kogan website. The instructions are hard to follow and some people have used the butterfly attachment at too high a speed and for thicker food, and that can overheat the motor. Malfunctioned 2nd use
Unit heats all by it self without the heating program on nor the heat indicator light. Found out by burning my hand after crushing ice in a milkshake!
It is going back for a refund although I am concerned that I have not kept the packaging, so I may have to accept a repair or replacement. It is a pity as the burn has destroyed my confidence in the machine totally.
I did make an egg custard, where it was great that one doesn't have to stand around stirring things.
Faulty and too hard to remove blades which must be taken out for dishwasher. Also have to remove blade to insert stiring blade and covers properly. Not good if you have chopped onions or other.. become a very messy operation.

You don't have to take out the steel blade to put on the blade guard/cover or Butterfly. I put it on while food is in there and it never has been any problems, even removing the blade is easy, So I don't what you find so difficult about it :-)

I've noticed the reviews are at least 3 yrs old. Please convince me that all these issues have been corrected in the newer model. Tia

Hi Nicola, our first Thermoblend over heated on the second use, Kogan replaced without any issues however the replacement also over heats. The only way is to half the suggested temp level when cooking. Note the instruction and recepy books are very ordinary. In Summary "you get what you pay for"
Sharron
Why would you compromise the heating. It should do what the manual claims. Halving the suggested heat is unacceptable ...and as a reviewer I would never say that to anyone...maybe I've been spoilt, I've had a Bellini for 5yrs now, replaced the jug once gets used 3 times a day sometimes, I just need a replacement now for when it ceases. Your comments are honest and I thankyou for that!
