good tyres for the price
The tyres have good grip and for the price are excellent. I have fitted them to an Audi A3 Convertible and the
performance of the car is excellent. I would get these tyres next time new tyres are due without hesitation!
The original tyres which was Dunlop Maxx Sport are double the price but similar in performance

A great tyre in all conditions
These tyres were my first venture into the Kumho brand and I have to say they are the best tyres I've had on my 23 year car. I've done 25,000 kls on these and I believe I'll get 40,000 kls easily. Grip is excellent in wet and dry and noise level is excellent.

Quiet and Comfortable
Terrific Summer tire for everyday use. They're very quiet & comfortable when you want them to be yet deliver the shear 'grip' that any Summer tire should when you need it. they still deliver adequate wet traction. Very good value, in my opinion. very happy with the purchase of these tyres.

Great Tyres, value for money
Purchased 4 tyres from tyresales.com.au and got a great discount, ended costing me just over $700 including wheel alignment. Kumho Ecsta are great, used to have Michelin's before but in all honesty can't see any difference, actually would even go to saying that Kumho are slightly better when it comes noise.

So far they seem to be really good tyres. time will tell.
I am really not that bigly into tyres, you dig? To me they are round black rubber things that go under cars. They drive over tarred roads and sometimes dirt roads and now and then they go thumping over the odd dead possum or cat or what have you. Every now and then (usually when it is raining) you have to change one on the side of the road fearing for your life all the while, hoping that some fool isn't driving down the road checking out all the funny stories on bored panda on their smart phone instead of driving.
A trip to the tyre center is ...Read more

Solid performers with all weather performance.
Solid tyres with a great level of road noise; able to see a noticeable reduction in the Highway Josie at cruising speed. Grip in dry is fantastic with no evident loss of traction and exceptional in the wet. Wet grip has been a concern up to now and the tyre set have been fantastic in the rapidly changing conditions. The older set was prone to tram tracking at the lights (ie falling into he ruts made by trucks) however the Kumho easily steam rolls this over and provides pinpoint stopping. No great differences in the ride quality as these are not hyper sponge or soft tyres and I am keen to see how these were long term. An overall solid and high performing tyre - great purchase and a brand I'll keep in mind.

KU39 ECSTA Le Sport, is Performance on a budget, these Tyres will give you the fun back in driving,
As i have endorsed the Michelin's tyre product range, i will always recommend the best available the Michelin 'MAN' produces on the planet, "earth", so whether a product is made in the northern or southern hemisphere, whether it's made in a certain country do not be discouraged, Korea's KUMHO Tyre range is exceptional for the price, and you can afford to have fun on this type of rubber, sounds kinky well if the wife feels safe driving smooth and pacy along the Putty Road Via Great Divide with a smile on her face i say there's a winner! top ty...Read more
re for this front wheeler, think about it, "front wheel drive north south transverse under motor mounted gearbox, 5 speed of course, "sound like a Ferrari but in reverse!", (don't touch turbo/autos in this automotive variant unless you have deep pockets), back to the Le Sport tyre, they warm evenly with little time and give a wonderful responsive feed back to the drivers fifth wheel(steering for the info) excellent cornier hold and outward acceleration grip will not allow wheel spin when full warmed and set pressure to suit environmental temps and car load to road conditions, i run mine at around 40 psi rears and fronts, A wonderful and fun tyre to drive on, i hope you enjoy them as well. Great value & performance
After using ku31, the 39's are definitely a better tyre. Especially in the wet, much less wheel spin & cornering more confident. They are quieter also. A great alternative if Bridgestone performance tyres are out of your budget. They don't look as aggressive as other performance tyres but believe me they are great.

Good price and treadwear, decent dry grip, but nowhere near Japan/Euro rivals on wet
I had two front 225/45R18 on my Aurion. Although the 225 is the OEM option size for 18 inch, I was trying to find 235/45R18, which is the same overall diameter to OEM 215/55R17 but over that time there wasn't many cars on that size range so sourcing a good set of 235 wasn't easy. At the beginning (mostly dry weather in winter) the Kumho was quite ok. Dry grip was actually comparable to some very expensive premium brand (say GY F1, Dunlop SP Maxx). I ran a trip into Lamington national park with a 5 seats occupied and there was no problem for the...Read more
se tyres on those windy mountain roads. however all that changed when summer is approaching. Please note I didn't intend to test the limit nor doing anything "enthusiastically" -- I have direct comparisons -- mediocre rivals that you may never consider putting them side by side. If shopping trolley is the only thing you need, buy the cheapest things you can find and you will never have to waste your time to read any review. After visiting some relatives on a raining night I drove home on some pouring wet roads -- I know you will say I should slow down in wet -- I did try to drive carefully, and I had a direct comparison next to me -- a stock corolla. On a traffic light feast road with only the Corolla next to me, every time the light turns green the corolla started and gone, like it was driving on dry. In comparison everytime I tried to push more than 1/4 to 1/3 of the throttle to my Aurion the Kumho spin and the car was like driving on ice, then the ESP kicked in tried to settle the car but because there wasn't any grip at all the car started shaking and somehow almost non controllable. I then had to let the car roll on itself from stop and had only minimal throttle once it's rolling and got the grips. Yes a corolla splashed on the face of an Aurion every time when the light turned green. I immediately changed the tyres to a set of Falken 453 on 235/45R18. After changing to Falkens I easily pushing the throttle more than 1/2 way without any slips. Never ever duplicate the horrifying wheel spin with Kumho. I admit 225 was a bit of too narrow to cope with Aurion's grunt but still 10mm of difference shouldn't make such a huge difference. I worked in a performance import dealer before and I did drive various of fast cars, many different tyres, cheap and expensive. I have a set of KL51 on my ute and I can significantly feel the difference on dry and wet, so I prefer to switch the ute to 4WD mode when raining or on twisty roads to improve all round traction. I found Kumho can make itself closed to euro brands on dry, but apparently Koreans don't know how to grip in wet. Though they are good value, good treadwear and well constructed. So if you are after a set of good priced, durable and reliable tyres they remain good choices (though you need to scarify some of your enthusiast, especially in wet or when tread is getting lower). If outright performance is your fist priority (and money no issue), Goodyear F1 is always my first choice (though you scarify the lifespan). However for all those premium road tyres I tried, Premium range of small japanese brands are the most balanced choices. E.g Falken 453, Sumitomo HTR ZIII are priced comparable to KU39, with equally impressive dry and wet grip, as well as decent treadwear, well constructed too. These smaller names deserved much more popularity.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

howling low profile tyres
Wet and dry grip performance are fantastic as a spirited driver but the road noise from the 215/40/17 xl rating is unbearable the howling that comes from the tyres is beyond anything ive ever encountered.I had the car checked out as it was that loud and came back ok ;its down to the grip pattern to channel water away and give u the grip required.
fantastic grip
the noise on the low profile tyre unbearable

Cheap, quiet and just as good
Replaced the 18inch Continental tyres on my 2007 Mercedes E350 Avantgarde Sport. These are frankly just as good, ride better and are also quieter (although my Contis were pretty old and this hard). I think these are not particularly well rated against the Michelins on the track, but in the real world it is more than enough.
Quiet and inexpensive
Not as good at nine-tenths.

KU-39 Best value for money performance tyre - Awesome grip wet or dry and real confidence inspiring!
I Bought these tyres after extensive months of research and to be honest there wasn't a lot of reviews available due to the newness of the tyres, but read enough reviews to know they were worth taking a punt on. Well what a revelation!!! I came off Yokohama C-Drives which in my opinion were an excellent tyre in the wet and dry but the KU-39’s were a whole level above them. In the dry they were really excellent with high levels of grip and very forgiving of over-exuberant cornering techniques - they are practically, unstickable.... They are near...Read more
enough to silent and that's comparing them to the Yoky's which themselves are a very quiet tyre. In the dry they hang on like a granny to a handbag and offer extremely high cornering speeds - and give the driver immense confidence. Without going absolutely silly on the road I have not been able to break traction with them. In the wet, they are, if possible, even better. They do stick like the proverbial baby poo to a blanket and offer wet cornering at dry speed times, even when its really wet...I have been driving for nearly 30 years and these are easily the best wet weather tyres I have EVER driven on. The braking is prodigious - from 60 km/h in the dry I can pull the car up in literally 2 car lengths and in the wet it’s more like 3 car lengths. Crazy braking that inspires huge confidence when you stomp on the pedal. All in all an awesome tyre and the only downside I can forsee is tyre life - the tyres are a little softer than a lot of tyres and this might mean shorter life - but with a wife and two kids I don't mind that they make the car safer, even if I go through tyres a little quicker. For feedback I have two driving styles - Dr. Jeckle when the wife and kids are in the car, Mr. Hyde when they are not... e.g. drive it like it's stolen... final word on them is a positive one - they have the world’s biggest rim protector on them...it's not a lip, the whole beading is recessed, making it extremely difficult for the gutter to get anywhere near the rim edge. Shop around and haggle as they vary wildly from dealer to dealer. I was quoted as high as $285 per tyre fitted and while they are a great tyre (especially in value for money) thats high end Michelin territory. Will I buy them again? You bet, especially as I got these for $150 Australian, which makes them the buy of the decade! Prodigious grip in the dry or the wet and in near silence! Amazing tyres that wil reward you every single time!!! So far, nothing!7 comments

ll find them, but push a bit as they are initially a bit high.Tempe Tyres are parallel imports, hence the cheap price, you won't get a factory backed warranty from Kumho.

Kumho KU 31 245/35/20 95Y
I had these tyes fitted on my 08 ssv and i was happy with the overall performance, both in the wet and dry, They are what I call predictable. you could felt when they where going to let go and this was an important point on when to replace them, if you do not rotate them they can become noisy, I got 35000 kms out of the set that I had, and they where just on the limit. the treadwear marks.
Comparable with the more expensive tyres. ie Bridgstone, they are X3 times dearer.
The tyres where predictable

Hi Donna, I’ve had no such problems with my set of the KU39’s . So far (5000km in) they are performing well.
No such problem Donna.. your salesman probably didn't have them, were trying to sell you something else. Other good tyres are Bridgestone, Dunlop,
I was buying the tyres brand new off my son but asked Bob Jane what they were like as I don't want sonething that doesn't have grip in the wet & dry. Bob Jane told me there was issues with them & tried selling me sonething else
