This is a fantastic product and an absolute must for any pregnant woman. Applying Lansinoh to each nipple after feeding is a wonderful preventative for sore, cracked nipples. Don't wait for nipples to get sore - use Lansinoh as soon as your newborn starts breastfeeding. There is no need to wash this product off - it is totally safe for feeding babies. Comes in two tube sizes.
Fantastic product - a little goes a very long way. Low cost and extremely effective.
Potential to stain clothes (oil stains) which are quite difficult to remove.
This product is FANTASTIC! A MUST for all mothers who are adamant that they wish to breastfeed. I was recommended this product by a number of mums and one actually bought me a tube to ensure that I took her advice!! Glad she did. I could not believe it - raw nipples one feed, then I'd apply the treatment & my nipples were fine by the next feed. I did not suffer from cracked nipples AT ALL as I applied it after EVERY feed (although I did do some preparation during pregnancy in order to toughen my nipples as well). I have also taken to purchasing...a small tube as encouragement to pregnant friends to give it a try. EVERYTHING!!!!!!! Comes in large and travel size tubes. Is versatile (The mum who recommended it to me also uses it for cracked lips!!!). It works between feeds - sore nipples one feed, apply, no longer sore on next feed. Can be applied between feeds - does not harm the baby. NOTHING!!!!!
This stuff saved me with both my kids, cracked nipples are the worst and are very easy to get at the start of a breastfeeding relationship. Make sure you slather it on after every feed as it keeps things moisturized, therefore your nipples are much less likely to dry out and crack. And it promotes healing if things have gone a little awry. Baby doesn't mind and no need to wash it off. And any leftover is good for lanolising wool covers for cloth nappies.
Soothes sore nipples, stops them sticking to breast pads, helps healing, doesn't need washing off before baby feeds, available at chemists everywhere
a little pricey but well worth it
This product was first recommended at my breast feeding class by the midwife so I bought a tube to have for when baby arrived. I also received a tube from a Hong Kong girlfriend, a mother of two - so its known globally for its relief! Furthermore, I even received a tube from my neighbour too as she found it invaluable when she was feeding a decade ago! I guess its reputation is long standing.
Lansinoh is a readily available product which every breast feeding mum should have on hand. Good for keeping your nipples in top condition and excellent to relieve grazes and cracks. A little bit goes a long way.
None to mention.
This cream was a life saver for me. It was recommended to me at a breast feeding class and also given to me at my baby shower and I used it all the time for at least the first few weeks after bub was born. It really helped my sore nipples to heal and enabled me to also continue to breast feed bub. It also stopped me sticking to breast pads which saved a lot of extra pain. I would recommend all mums to make sure you have some before bub is born, it truly is a life saver.
You don't have to wash it off before breast feeding bub, totally helps heal sore and cracked nipples, stops nipples sticking to breast pads, baby didn't mind taste.
Is a little on the expensive side... but well worth it!
A friend bought this for me as she suffered extremely sore, cracked nipples. Whilst I did not suffer cracked nipples, I did have sore nipples from a baby who started to bite and decided to try this ointment - and it really did help soothe and calm the pain. Was completely safe to leave on whilst baby was feeding so I used it as often as needed without worry. Taste did not bother baby at all. Highly recommend it for any mothers suffering pain or soreness from breastfeeding biting babies.
Very good product, highly recommend it as it does heal sore nipples.
