Excellent product.
So we've had this for years, our daughter outgrew it and it went down to our son... He has bashed it, thrown it, jumped on it, hurled it, used it as a hammer. It has to be made from titanium or something it just keeps working. The battery life is better than any phone I've owned..
The apps can be pricey but think about it, free apps on a ipad or tablet and he throws it on tiles once verse spending a few bucks and it lasts through a child abusing apocalypse..
Highly recommend it..
Purchased in November 2021 at Big W for $199.00.

Good quality& strong but you need to buy apps
We bought the leappad platinum for our daughter a year ago. The unit itself is very strong and The games that come on it are ok but not enough of them So you have to buy apps. Also the things my daughter loves most arnt available in apps yet like wiggles, minnie & there was only 1 peppa game I bought for $22 and I dont think it was worth that, the book that came within the app you have to select page by page so makes it hard for my daughter to go back to select the new page and other than that it has a game. All the $7 and $11 games and videos I have bought have definatly been worth the money I've paid for them. I would still recommend buying this over an iPad because of its durability.

Not worth the money
I bought 2 of these devices and really regret buying them. The apps are expensive, the free apps are misleading and both of them broke down. I followed the instructions by head office for the 1st one that broke down, but it didn't work so I got a replacement. The 2nd device said it needed an upgrade when it was perfectly fine, now the device won't upgrade when I plug it into the computer, and will have to get this one replaced. I've had them both for 12 months.
They really need to look at how these devices work and reduce the prices of the device and the apps.

Waste of money
I brought this in the July toy sale at big w for Christmas. It was honestly a waste of money I brought it for 199 and now they are selling at 119 at target. The apps are very expensive and it states it comes with 5 free apps but they are only demos and 5 imagicards. The kids safe browsing consists of not much at all, reminiscent of an outdated intraweb from back in my school days. Honestly I should have brought him a v tech watch or a real tabler for the same cost. Beware of the hidden costs before purchasing this item.

Good learning device.
I purchased the leap pad platinum from toys r us for my sons birthday but was disappointed at the misleading packaging that states 500 games available & in very fine print not included.
They should at least bundle a few games for the price we are paying.

Misleading packaging
Not impressed. Bought my 3 year old a leap frog platinum (meant to be best) as it boasts 500+ educational games on the front very clearly! Thought it was way better value than the iPad she has now instead with educational focus only. We bought it brand new from big W yesterday. Open it Xmas day to find u need to buy the 500+ that are"available" to purchase games but they are so gracious and my little one is simply allowed 1 free one!! We have to pay $15 each pay for rest!! Might as not wasted all that money. I went back to box and the disclaime...Read more
r is beyond a joke. It's do small, in a colour not easy to read and the 500+ games was what was displayed as a main feature. At the cost of every cartridge and online app I'm appalled. Even if my money isnt returned.. Leap Frog.. For other parents out there your packaging is very misleading and that's very unfair since that was her main gift from Santa. I encourage other parents to know what they are in for if Leap frog dont do anything about it at least I have made it public. We will be making a complaint with ACCC. I was the one who had to explain Santa must have forgot to put games in. So thanks guys! Disgusting. Thanks, SaraSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I purchased the Leap Frog Leap Pad Platinum for my daughter a week ago and have had nothing but problems. After just 2 days the screen was going blank when she was trying to access games. I looked at the Leap frog website and it recommended downloading Leap Frog Connect to fix the problem. After doing this it automatically started downloading around 2GB of updates one of which was 990MB on its own and took a few hours to finish. After this I was then allowed by the Connect program to use the repair function and it did fix the problem. However j...Read more
ust 2 days later the screen was again going blank after tuning on. We could hear the Lead Pad prompts but the screen was just blank. Repaired again. And then today (day 7 since purchase), it has a blank screen not once but twice in one day even immediately after using the repair function. To top it off, the Connect usb cable supplied with the product has a very loose connector that plugs into the unit for sync with P.C. and disconnects itself frequently whilst trying to use the repair function. Also the camera on the first day wouldn't work and the unit said it was because the memory was full - even though we had taken no photo's or downloaded anything to the device at all. I have tried calling the Australian support number but with no luck - no answer and no reply to answering service. So have lodged ticket with Leap Frog support. No response as yet. Please do not waste your money with this product, from what I have seen so far it has major issues that need sorting out and in my opinion is just not worth the hassle of having to plug it in to the P.C for repair every couple of days.Similar opinion?
