Hi, Yatala Leisure Pools installed our pool however there are still issues with the pool as well as property damage that they promised to have fixed 2 weeks ago. They now will no longer respond to us, is there anyone else at Leisure Pools we can talk to or do we now just contact the ACCC?

Alesia, I went with Gary in Hervey Bay branch and he was great, unfortunately because they are a franchise, it's the luck of the draw whether you get a good person or not, my girlfriend had the same sort of problems in Port Macquarie. Outside of complaining to Leisure Pools direct and giving bad revues to the person who did yours, I wish you luck.

Hi aleisa,

Unfortunately this is a common problem with Leisure Pools. I have received private messages from other customers with the same issue. The way the business runs with Leisure Pools basically just being a distributor of shells means theres no real path to follow when you have issues. If the franchise you use dont want to play ball you have no where to follow up the problem other than escalating with Fair Trading or small claims. Best to stick with a company that has a proper customer service and dispute resolution department.

Has anyone had issues with the smart cleaner? Mine is blowing fuses. If anyone has a link to a user manual it would be good. I have had the pool installed 6 years now and have needed to replace almost every component. I have had problems with chlorinator, swim jet pump, lights, heat pump and now the robotic cleaner. Parts and advice seems difficult to source. I have been told they are not worth fixing? Seems a lot of money out the door....again. The pool has faded badly as well!

Leisure Pools seems to have great reviews for the pool sales people. What I'd like to know is what about the installation and who did the installation? Seems a bit of a disconnect between the positive reviews, which seem to be of the sales people; versus the actual installation.

Our experience was that sales, installation, concerting and paving were all completed under the one pool builder. Each of the teams was very professional and they all work together to deliver the pool, so there was no disconnect. We’re really happy with the quality of the install, otherwise we wouldn’t have provided a positive review.

we didnt have a good experience at all and i tried to call the head office for assistance but was directed back to the local distributor. After getting the pool we have heard the same thing over and over 'after the contract is signed customer service is lacking'. Wishing we shopped around more.

Well they have a lack of customer service, the pool it self is ok but everything around it is sh@t I would not recommend them to anyone at all.

Yep! Dont do it! Look to one of the more reliable and larger companies like Narellan. Ben is great there wish I hadve gone with them instead of leisure Pools Thornton.

No. Not heard of them. I’d say Leisure Pools franchise and I used Leisure Pools Wagga Wagga and the owner/operator is Ash Dikkenberg.

We used Yatala and Stewart was the proprietor of that branch. He was the guy that actually dug out our pool. A real hands on guy. We found them great to deal with.

Hi all,

Has anyone gone down the path of making an official complaint about Leisure Pools in Yatala? I have been dealing with issues since installation almost and definitely since August 2017. It was great service leading up to payment and had no issues with the sales guy but the post sales support has been less than ideal. Now there is a stand still as both Astral Pool and Leisure Pools are saying its not their issue but no one gets back to us. Any advice is great, we are definitely not "naysayers" and would rather promote Aussie businesses but this is getting a little ridiculous. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

We’ve just had our pool installed by these guys (yatala branch), there’s a few issues that need to be fixed, and the owner was going to call and make a time to come out. It’s nearly been 2 weeks and haven’t heard a thing!

LEISURE POOLS YATALA QBCC

Going through some issues with these guys currently. The Pool has not reached practical completion yet and doesn't look like getting there anytime soon. Please go to QBCC with your issues. The QBCC keeps a record of all the complaints and will help resolve your issues. You will need to make your complaint within 21 months of the offence. Some things that are a breach of the QBCC contract requirements that we experience and you may have also Are
1. No Date of Practical Completion on the Contract.
2. The Stage payments. You should not have paid more than 50% in stage payments before half the work was completed. In our case we had to pay 98% of the cost before any work had taken place. (Stage 2 payment) This is a breach of the QBCC contract requirements.
3. Absence of a Timing Schedule. We receive no timing schedule for when the construction process would take place.

Check your contract and you may find the same issues. You will need to complete a Notification of Offence form on the QBCC website. The QBCC will step in to provide dispute resolution and get this sorted.

MollyPix - I am sure this is you [Name Removed] as you are the only client we have an issue with at the moment.

From the moment we came on site you have been nothing but abusive to our staff and demanding our professionally trained tradespeople do everything your way when you have no knowledge or experience installing pools. Your behaviour on site the other day was so bad one of our staff members is on stress leave.

Our tradespeople are not comfortable coming back on site until we have a guarantee that you will allow our qualified professional tradespeople to do the job you have employed us to do.

I think thats pretty standard, after all, they are ordering and paying for your pool from manufacturing. You cant install the pool without payment, how are they sure youll pay for a product that substantial?

I don't believe it's normal. If you contact QBCC they will suggest a 20% deposit on initial signing followed by agreed part-payments. Google "Construction Contracts" in your State.

Thanks for your time in answering. QBCC say up to 50% deposit can be paid when the constuction of a product is not on your premises. They did mention 95% was excessive though. Pool has been delivered.
