What’s the main difference between the Frankie and the Billi
2 answers
As I can see there is only one battery under the seat as the Frankie has two ( one in each arm ). I have not seen the Billie and have only seen photos
Thanks, it would be interesting to talk to someone with a billi to see how it performs

I am considering buying one of these chairs for my mum who is in an aged care facility and just gone into a wheelchair. She's going stir crazy needing to be dependent on staff to wheel her around, this makes her particularly more housebound with the current social isolation shutdown of aged care facilities. What I'm wondering is if this chair is suitable for this environment in terms of comfort of seat and width for all day sitting, and for a person who is not petite. The weight capacity for the chair is more than enough but I'm wondering about comfort and width of the chair really. TIA

Should be ok and I have been every where . Buy a thicker cushion and keep it charged and mum will be oer the moon. I have been every where with mine and had nno problems. Between my scooter & chair I can go anywhere.

can the arms be extended in width

No they can not. I had the same thoughts but after checking on line I took the plunge and bought on. It is about as wide as an office chair 20'' t0 22''.
Thank you. I brought the chair some months ago for my wife and she is very happy with it. It was just a thought to make it more comfortable for her. I will think on it and see if it can be modified with after products as the arms only need to be about 60mm wider. Regards Bill

We live in Sydney. If we purchase a chair, where could we have it serviced if it becomes necessary?

That is a question I can not answer. Ring Lietner or send them an Email. So far so good but if anything goes wrong that is what I would do. Any mobility shop should be able to repair it if anything goes wrong.
Thanks for that.
Allenasked
Where are these manufactured & where do you get them serviced .Allen
1 answer
These are made in CHINA like 90% of power chairs, even the top brands have their chairs made there. Any good mobility shop should be able to repair them or contact LIETNER and talk to them.

I would need this to drive on tar roads, maybe one or two kilometers at a time, would the front small wheels be strong enough to go from road to driveway over a 10 mil drive gutter, occasionally drive on mown lawn, where would I get it serviced, how much do batteries cost to replace .

I have used my chair over lots of surfaces for some time now. The only problem I have had is on soft sandy soil. I mostly use my chair for transport in situations as you describe and it is wonderful. I have not needed to replace batteries or get a service, after a couple of years now.
This is a great wheel chair for hard surfaces it will drive on a short mown lawn on a firm ground we have two of these chairs they are light weight & reliable
I drive mine 10km round trip to the local shopping centre with no problems at all, I’ve only had mine 6 months so haven’t needed a service but I’ve done a lot of ks in that time and had no problems at all

Folding wheel chair . Would this product be able to go on flat grass & how would the small front wheels go over a small bump, like road to driveway .

It transitions quiet well but any lip an inch or higher causes problems. I went to an engagement part two weeks ago on a farm and it handled flat mowed grass well, but as night drew on and dew fell the wet grass became a little problematic
Hi Allen this chair will drive on a short mown lawn which is grown on firm soil, on app by lawns it dosnt drive as well, it's a great chair easy to fold, it's light,& easy to drive .hope this helps

Hi Allen, Thanks for your message. The Frankie wheelchair should drive fine on grass on firm soil. You will need to ride this with care if you are using it outdoor especially over bump due to the low clearance of the footstep of only 6cm off the ground. The maximum climbing ability is 12 degree. We do recommend this product to be used mainly indoors such as at home and shopping centres, however, if you are to use this outdoor, please handle with care. If you want to discuss further or have further questions, please feel free to contact us via phone 1300 856 725 or via email at [email protected] and our friendly customer service representative will be able to assist you between Mon-Fri 9am-5pm Melb time. Thank you!

Hi Yvonne,
Sorry for the delay in our reply, for some reason there was no alert in our system that you had contacted us.
Unfortunately we do not have the facility for any test ride or try-before-you-buy.
However, we do have a 14-day money-back guarantee, which makes it possible to shop online, risk free!
The Frankie wheelchair is designed for mainly indoor use.
If you have any other questions, you can contact us by phone (1300 856 725) or email ([email protected])

Can the control be placed so that the attendant can use it and the passenger would be unable to reach it? Also I am concerned about the comfort for my father.

Are the frenkie OK for outside house your are they to unstable?

excellent for shopping centres, and compacted gravel. Will cope with moderate ramps, but sometimes tend to skid on descent.
the Frankie is very safe outside if you use it as directed we use ours at shopping centres on compacted foot paths on our concrete drive and on bitumen roadways
