I have owned two LX470's firstly a 1998 and now a 2004
Sensational vehicles
I changed my exhaust system and put a 3" ceramic head extractor system on the 2004 model. Why?
2 litres per 100k better economy, and more punch. The exhaust gases are removed quicker
With that of course comes a beautiful V8 sound, but not too loud
This reliable beast tows a 3 tonne caravan with ease and ultimate comfort to Darwin and back
An ever reliable Great vehicle

Great reliable truck

I have owned this vehicle for the last 10 years and other than servicing it has not missed a beat nor let me down. I put it on lpg about 3 years ago and haven't looked back since. Lost the small aux tank and now have another 100 litres or discount running. Can bring myself to upgrade this yet as I still enjoy driving it.

Simply the best!

I own a 2000 lx and I can say after 12 years it is still a delight to drive, this is a quality vehicle. Yes it's big, comfortable, confident and competent in everything it does. I have had a few issues over time such as a cracked header and the fuel consumption is a bit on the high side but overall it's a beautiful car. FYI I return 14.7L/100k average trip and 18-20L/100k around town.
Space, space and more space. Long distance road eater! It will tow anything. Comfortable and quite. Lexus servicing is 1st class. Better quality to 100 series.
Some parts can be expensive (header) and with today's fuel price it can be expensive to run.

I have a 98 that has 310,000 km and has never missed a beat. It is a wonderful vehicle to drive and own it will be difficult parting with it. Fuel economy not great but safety for my family is worth more than that.

LX 470

Hi i am about to buy a 2008 Lexus Luxury sport Model is 250. The car looks great only about 84000 klm's. The worry i have is that the service Log Books Had the dates of the service written on them but no klm's were written anywhere on the service log books. The seller told me that Lexus doesn't write in the klm's and he said he used to sell Lexus in his old dealership. The seller has only had car for about 8 months and buys the odd car to on sell. I love the car just wondering if there would be anything to worry about this.

Hi there,
I did ask this question when i purchased my Lx570 new.
I recall that there was no room for the tank.
I have a 3 tonne caravan just came up to bluesfest byron bay from sydney. It took 1.5 tanks to get up here at about $150 per tank. The computer tells me 28 litres ooer 100kms. Thats fully loaded. With a massive caravan Around town in Sydney traffic about 18 litres per 100kms. Cant remember highway mileage without caravan. Parts are fully available as its under toyota parts management. Everyone will tell you its just a Toyota, which is partly true and also annoying..lol but that is cefinitely an advantage.as Toyota have the best parts availability in this country.
This is a car that requires less maintenance than the last model.
It has been super reliable no issues in 6 years.
Get the factory extended warranty if you can as parts can be expensive.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Jono, Awesome to hear parts are readily available. Fuel consumption is a bit of a concern.I am looking at second hand so I will wait and see what happens.
