Good morning

i have a small white spot on the top upper left of the screen. it is there during local tv programs. netflix, foxtel, stan etc. Is this pixel that is not functioning properly? Or has a pixel died?It is not there when the TV is off

It sounds like a dead pixel. If you have warranty left contact the place of purchase or if extended warranty contact them to have it checked/replaced/repaired. I wholly advise you to ask for either a store credit to get a different brand of TV. If they won't do that for you tell them you want a replacement. Don't allow them to fix it, doubt they would anyway as a dead pixel means a new screen which is more costly than a TV.

Hi, I have just booked in my OLED65C7T which will be deliver tomorrow. By reading and researching I just wanted to know more on BURNT IN (Burnt Screen) issues and appreciate if someone can suggest on how to maintain for the longer durability?

I haven’t had any issues, when I pause on Netflix for a while the TV goes into a screen save mode to stop burn in.

We have a burnt imagine permanently on our screen. We have done the pixel refresh to try and remove the image, but without any success. The tv is just on a year old and were under the impression that a burnt image wasn’t possible with a tv of this quality. Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Hi Troy, unfortunately with burn ins you'll need to call LG for on-site support. Contrary to your statement about it being impossible for it happening, regardless of manufacturers, burn in is the biggest issue for OLED technology. Only way is to ensure image isn't static for hours on end and to ensure screen savers kick in ASAP, I think default is 2 minutes on TV, other devices like Apple TV will need to be validated manually.

I have not had burn in issue and I think for most consumers they won't either. Image burn in only occurs if you have a static image for hours on end.

We have the OLED65C7T which is a year old and it has the ‘Today’ logo burnt onto the bottom left of the screen. The tv definitely wasn’t on pause for hours and yet the image wont disappear even with the pixel refresher setting used. I didn’t expect this to occur on a tv of this quality nor on a OLED screen.

How is the picture quality of Foxtel HD on this OLED?

picture quality on Foxtel and Netflix is great. This depends mostly on the data coming in though as TV can only show what it receives. Like during a storm when you get pixelation happening or low incoming data speeds from satellite / internet.

OLED C7T Series

Hi all oled owners, I am not a lover of LCD/LED picture quality in general, and find compared to my Panasonic vt30 plasma to me has a much greater depth and contrast to it. I am still still sitting on the fence whether or not to pull the plug on this model, my main concern is that I still have a large collection of dvd's which the majority play upscaled on my pana plasma really, really well. I know that high def quality images on the lg oled are sublime, but how does it handle DVDs and standard def pictures? Is there anyone that can shed some light on what to expect in comparison.

I'd like to know this too - about to take the plunge and buy oled. I'll let you know what I think after a while, if no-one can answer us soon!

What Plasma does to LCD/LED, OLED does to Plasma. Plasma was the most superior tech until OLED came out. Now OLED is king, end of story. The blacks and contrast you get makes ANYTHING look good. Especially sport on FTA. And the upscaling is great. You won't be disappointed believe me. Even without 4K, 1080P on an OLED still looks nuts.

I had the best plasma ever produced for a long time: the Pioneer Kuro. The LEDs were always compared and never beat the contrast/blacks...until the OLED came out. The larger your screen is, the more you'll notice the pixilation regardless of which screed you have. The thing is, is this LG OLED is the best out there. There are tweeks, such as place the sharpen option to low etc...but even though it's upscaled, the main detriment is the size. 55, will do a better job than 65 inch because of less total pixels. Can't go wrong though! Ask the people who you want to purchase the product from if they'll let you play a dvd on it. Good luck!
