I have this fridge for almost a week already as a replacement of Samsung 725L 3doors. But I dislike the left door where it felt heavy and slam shut. Receiving the link to align the door from the LG chat representative and it still not working. The door slam shut is loud to me. I don’t have the problem with my other fridge. Could anyone please let me know how did you rectify the problem. Very much appreciate for your all input.

We lost a lot of vegetables freezing in crisper. Got runaround from LG for weeks before a repairman was brought in. Apparently it's a common problem and quickly fixed by adding a part. The space between freezer and crispers is open, allowing cold air to enter uncontrolled. Adding a flap fixed the problem.

Gf-L708pl - can the water temperature be changed?, at the moment it is as warm as tap water!

As per owner’s manual it initially takes up to 24 hours to chill the water/ make ice but after that it should be quicker. I don’t think you could adjust the water temperature.

Just like ours.. I filled the fridge and freezer. Set fridge to 4deg. Its been fine.. a little too cold imo in the crisper but not frozen.

I have the LG L708 PL and it freezes the vegetables in the crisper.LG are not being very helpful and have said I have to take it back for repairs. Which is great because we live 4 hours away from the city so dont know how I am supposed to get it back without scratching denting etc. and we have 3 of them between me and my 2 sons and they are all doing the same thing. Cant believe they can keep selling a fridge with a known problem. Wish we had not purchased these expensive lemons.

Tammy if you were sold a product where the company can't honour its normal warranty obligations to you because of where you live it should have made that restriction clear at time of purchase. I would call the Ombudsman's office to ask what they advise for Warranty claims that are restricted in country regions. It isn't reasonable to expect a customer to cart a very large, heavy fridge hundreds of miles to a service centre for repairs. My fridge had the same fault. It was relatively quick and easy for the tech to remove and replace the offending faulty part. The company may be able to subcontract out the repair and deliver the part to you.
You can also INSIST that LG offer you a practical solution - quietly but firmly point out that this model has a high rate of thermostat failures, that you don't have the capacity to safely manhandle a large fridge without risking personal injury or more damage in transit. tell the customer service operator to "escalate your claim to a supervisor" who has the capacity to make decisions at a higher level. Best of luck. The icemaker in mine just stopped working. Here we go again!

My model is LG GF-6708PL. Possibly just a different colour, but if a model update they should have addressed the issue. I had to get technicians out twice. The thermostat at the back inside the fridge unit had to be replaced. If the same model, prepare for problems as this fault does indeed seem to be widespread. Tell the dealer if you buy on their recommendation you will return it and expect a full refund if the thermostat fails. LG has had ample to time to recognise this as a systemic design fault and rectify it in their production processes.

Yes I just received a replacement fridge with the same freezing problem as the original it is more pronounced in the left side crisper. LG have been supportive on this issue, we will see what the follow up on this one is

Anyone else’s matte black fridge have problems with the “paint” coming off. There a few spots on the fridge where it has started coming off. Note; It has not been knocked in those areas so it’s very odd.

Should not come off at all ... call LG Service & get them to come & assess the problem. It sounds like a warranty claim to me for lack of adhesion of the paint system !

Hi I am looking at buying this fridge. Can anyone tell me how wide will the French need to be opened? I have a stone bench on the left side which will require the door to be 90 degrees.

If you can only open the door to 90 degrees you won't be able to slide out the crisper. The door needs to be fully open for that. From the back of the fridge to the door seal is 610mm so if your benches are only that deep you could have the fridge door part in front of the bench width and you'd be able to open the door fully if you get what I mean. The closed fridge is 912 wide but if it sits forward from the cavity that's all you need to be able to open the doors

Contact LG - they might not admit the issue and try to make you feel it's somehow "your fault" for not using the fridge properly, but it's a known (but not admitted) fault. Ours was fixed last week (5 mth old fridge) and now the drawers are perfect.

Just purchased this fridge and note that it leans backward quite heavily causing the doors to slam shut if you don’t close them carefully. Checked my floor which is level Sonia defiantly the fridge. Anyone else having the same issue?

The fruit and vegetables in the crispers on both sides are freezing. This is even with the temperature back up to 6c

I am having the same problem. Lots of fruit and vegies being spoilt and thrown out. Very frustrating.
Contact your LG rep or store where purchased. The problem is one known to LG and there is a fix by replacing a few items.
Yep, we just had our 708 fixed (apparently it's an additional insulation part that stops the cold air coming in from the freezer) and at last, it's perfect.
Worth noting that when my wife first contacted LG within days of using the brand new fridge about this, they pushed hard that it was all her fault (blocking vents, overloading, etc) all implying we don't know how to use our fridge. So therefore, if a technician called out and found it was "our fault" there would be a cost.
Yes, we tried their ideas to no avail and eventually after 4 months, got back in touch and she told the operator she had felt intimidated into shutting up (not typical for my assertive wife btw!). They sent a service tech who effectively said he couldn't admit there was a known problem, but there was a known problem requiring a new part.
So insist on a fix.

Yes, contact LG, it's a "known but not admitted" issue. Don't let them fob you off that it's somehow your fault.
