We have the LG NeoChef MS4296OBS for about 6 months. From day 1 we have had an intermittent issue with the door closing. It tells us that the door is not closed. Does not seem to matter whether you close the door gently or hard it still intermittently shows the door error. HELP PLEASE

Sounds like a fault to me. Call LG, it will still be under warranty.
Never had that issue with ours.

Could you advise is it a major issue with having at least 20cm space required all around microwave cavity ... sales rep advised..if less, does it cause issues, 20cm is a lot??

My space is only 5cm all the way around due to cabinetry. I have no issues. But the oven has a high wattage so you can’t have no room for circulation as it does produce heat.
How long have you had it please.

Hi All,
We had a National that died and resurrected our old Sharp and were reminded why we changed. The Sharp has a very annoying 'feature' that keeps beeping at you if you don't respond (open door, turn product etc) within one minute. They still advertise it as a feature. No, it's just plain annoying and let me turn the feature OFF.
My question is: Does the LG beep just when the heating time has finished or does it continue to remind you because apparently we're thick? There's nothing in the manual about end time.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Cheers
Ken

It reminds you with a tune so if you find a beep annoying the tune will drive you crazy

Choice says one of the bad points of this microwave is that it has 'Only OK visibility through door'. Is anyone finding the visibility through the door an issue ?

You can't see through the door at all. But why did you need to see through the door? Im sure you remember what you put in there, by seeing through the door, i dont think you can judge how hot is the food. Dont be lazy, just open the door and check.
Jo_L.. We recently purchased one and find that having the settings hidden behind the door is just a pain and downright stupid.
Even the controls on the outside of the door are difficult to see if the room is not well lit.
I am a big fan of LG products but seriously regret buying this microwave.

Oh gee, I don't know. Maybe to monitor your food to see if liquid is bubbling over or if splatters are occurring, without having the stop the microwave constantly?

Is a cavity 563 W x 335 H x 500 mm D suitable for housing this microwave oven? Ie what are minimum clearances required?
Thanks,

50mm Front, Sides and Top. Rear needs at least 125mm. This is generic specifications, you would need to consult the manual if you wish to use lower than this.

Is the model with the knob on the door, model MS4266OBS or OWS, better than the model with the flat door controls, model MS4296OBS or OWS? it is a little dearer!

Noticed that the manual indicates 20 cm clearance each side. Would like to buy this to put into cabinet with 60 cm wide in total above oven. Can this be done safely?

Our cabinet is 60cm wide as well, no problems here. I do tend to shift the microwave more towards right as vents are on the left side. Did not notice any ill effects or signs of struggle
Thank you - that's helpful to know.
My space is 66cm wide but I think this microwave gets pretty hot and it is best used freestanding on bench top. When used in microwave space the cooling fan works a lot and is noisy . Most microwaves suggest bench top use but it seems the majority of kitchens have an open space within the built in cupboards for a microwave and placing it there is what most people want to do.
