Happy with this washer
This machine washes the clothes really good but having said that I don't have any very dirty work clothes that I've had to put in it. the best thing is the fuzzy logic, you can put a bath towel in with normal wash and there's no fuzz on your wash.

SCRUD.
LG WT-H750. Purchased in Oct 2011 from Harvey Norman Caringbah.
Machine has been operating fine till some 4 years ago. Then SCRUD started to appear on clothing.
SCRUD has been our only problem with this model machine. Seems to be a very common issue experienced by many other owners of this model. Can not get rid of it. Getting worse. Have tried ever suggestion of LG, including that which is in the owners manual. No luck.
Feel the only way to rid machine of SCRUD would be to totally dismantle machine, clean all the internals and start again...Read more

Direct Drive Motion - Fail!!
We have had this machine for quite a few years, it replaced our Hitachi. It looks good but the Direct Drive Motion causes the machine to unbalance and bounce across the laundry floor if you don't get to it quick enough to press the pause button and redistribute the wet clothing inside, then you have to stand and wait until it reaches its peak spin from the Direct Drive to make sure it doesn't unbalance again. This doesn't happen if there is a very small light load but still happens often and the machine is not overloaded. A few towels will ca...Read more
use the unbalance. It is very frustrating to have to bolt to the laundry to pause and fix the machine more often than not. It also does not seem to fill up with enough water on the fuzzy wash cycle. I do however like that there is no agitator in the middle of drum. I have to add that the machine is actually terrible now. I was not able to get to the machine quick enough when it started the spin cycle and again unbalanced, it was that bad that the drum has dented the front and both sides of the machine quite badly. It is so frustrating and too expensive to purchase a new machine at this time.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Would rather wash by hand!
I had a recall Samsung washing machine It was the best, My father Brought the LG for me, I'm hand washing my. The machine doesn't wash at all, washing powder still on the clothes.. My son spelt a cup of tea on his white an red sheet. (A small amount only) I washed it right away an used the soak mode as well. That day I washed the sheet 3 times an still the tea was there. Takes so long just to wash 1 load even on the quickest mode. It is very quiet when it's washing. An the best thing about the washer is the see though lid.

This machine pulls threads on brand new towels
My mum purchased this machine in 2012 and from the very start when she washed brand new towels it would pull threads on the towels ruining them. She rang LG about the problem several times, finally they send someone out to look at it. He came, took photos of the towels, looked at the machine, told her they would see what they could do. Then she didn't hear from them again. She rang several more times, getting I think an overseas call centre, which for my elderly mum was difficult understanding them. Finally, I rang the extended warranty pla...Read more
ce and they told me she had put in a claim (when the service man came) but apparently he said there was nothing wrong with the machine. Mind you, they never contacted her to tell her that. I asked if there wasn't anything wrong with it why does it ruin her towels, and all he could recommend was to ring LG again. They basically said there was nothing wrong with it and if she wanted someone to come look again it would cost her $101.00. Our only other option is to go to consumer affairs, which my mum doesn't want to do. Bad machine and bad service from LG. Also was a waste of money having extra warranty when LG are the ones to check it out and decide if its defective.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Beware the "SCRUD"
We have had this washer for just under 3 years. In general it does a good job, works well and is reliable, so out of 100 I would give it 95%. Unfortunately the other 5% is a deal breaker, in a nutshell you do not want a washing machine that gives your washing back to you dirtier that when it went in. The machine produces a flaky grey moldy residue that sticks to all washing put in the machine and stains everything especially the whites. We contacted LG and were informed this residue is called 'Scrud'. I don't know which is more disturbing the p...Read more
roblem itself or the fact that it is so well known to LG that they have a specific name for it. I was summarily informed that as the machine was outside of the 2 year warranty period any service call would invoke a service charge and as we live outside the Sydney service area this could come to a couple of hundred dollars. We were also asked if we have used White Vinegar to clean the bowl? Reply: Yes, no effect. Dishwasher Tablets? Reply: Yes, no effect. Dishwasher Cleaner?, Reply: Yes, no effect. Scalex Plus? Reply: Some effect, clears the problem for about a month and then returns with a vengeance. Long story short, we ordered a new Fisher and Paykel machine today and will never look at another LG cleaning appliance.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Brown crap everywhere another good guys crappy product
Brown scale everywhere, cant get rid of it same as everyone else who purchased this crap! Good guys buy big name stuff from third world manufacturers for example our LG H750 was made in Thailand, not Korea, and these models are crap not the fault of Thai workers. The fault is that people like Good Guys buy this crap and people like Samsung and LG just want profit, don't care about its usage because made outside Korea! Crap.

My first review of this machine was about it being faulty when delivered ( first time use would not empty ), was the pump not working for whatever reason . Second machine have used for nearly three and a half years and its perfect, use every second day with large loads, i have another smaller lg machine that is about eight years old and it got a problem just before the extended warranty expired at five years, all it needed was a eighteen dollar part that the technician from lg replaced to fix it and its still going strong . The only reason ...Read more
I buy lg washing machines is because they are hitachi design which were the top washing machine in au till hitachi withdrew from au, I always had their machines and they were brilliant. When I first laid my eyes on a lg machine I knew they were a hitachi design, I would not buy anything besides the washing machines in the lg brand. I have read some of the other reviews on this machine and its obvious that people do not know how to use an automatic washing machine, which I find incredible. First off clean the filters after every wash,it takes two minutes to do that. Ifwashing comes out dirty,is the water to hard (to many minerals, common to inland areas ) are you using enough washing liquid/powder, does it need soaking (put on wash only for ten minutes than leave for a few hours and the magic formula is napisan ( oxygen bleach to bubble the stains out, not normal bleach ) the cheap one for under two dollars has the same ingredients as the eight to ten dollar ones, I put a small amount in every wash with perfect results . Sort out the cloths so lint does not transfer on to other cloths . And I do an extra rinse where I untangle the washing if need be and put once again a cheap fabric softener ( I put in more than recommended but it works and the cloths do not transfer lint. This machine does not rinse with warm water on all cycles, but the digital reading is lit on warm,it is definitely cold water, I have tested it. And the comments give me back my such and such machine, the makes of washing machines that were mentioned I would rather wash them in the bath than use those antiquated machines.Does a car drive itself,no, all it takes to do washing is a bit of intelligence and effort.I realise some of these machines are faulty, but most things today are made with cost cutting measures and sometimes its really hard to buy quality products. I give this machine a five star rating,Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I will never buy any LG products ever again
My washer did an okay job but never seemed to really clean the cloths and seemed to leave soap power on the cloths sometimes. Yes it tangles everything. But it was okay.
Now 79 days after the warranty has run out, the pump stopped working. They wanted $160 just to turn up and look plus parts. I bought a pump for $65 dollars and fitted it, but again it did not turn on.
It must be the main board that has failed, internet pricing is $400, I cannot risk it, I will have to trash the machine.

Good machine and good service
My fiance bought this machine over 2 years ago and it has washed for his family since without issue. A month under the 2-year warranty, the motor started making an atrocious noise and I rang LG, who organised their repair man to come out the next day and it was all covered under warranty. No issues dealing with LG and their repair man was very helpful. I too had noticed a lot of brown muck on sheets and doona covers (not on clothes) since son and his girlfriend started doing their own washing, and was bamboozled as I clean the filters every wee...Read more
k (and boy do they need it - they collect so much lint and grit, which is great as my fiance and his son both work in construction, so lots of dirty clothes get done every week). I asked the repair man and he advised clothing softener could be the cause. I stopped using that and have since returned to using just laundry powder only and not the liquid. and no more problems with gunk on the sheets or doona covers. Very happy with the wash. If you're having problems, I'd suggest you also look at what products are being used in the machine as it made a difference for us :)Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Disaster of a machine!!!!
Bought two years ago....on to the THIRD new genuine water pump!!! It tangles the clothes so badly it is sometimes impossible to get your clothes OUT if the machine. The entire top section of my machine is cracked. All the plastic around hinges is cracked, so basically the lid is not really attached, and before the pump went kaput again, it was working only because the magnets meet when you close it. Thankfully LG have given approval for repair & most likely replacement even though it is out of warranty by a couple of months, but it is the biggest lemon there is!!!!!!!!

It is far from perfect and I could happily live without it.
It is far from perfect and I could happily live without it. Handing on our old faithful to cater for larger heavier washing loads we purchased the 7.5kg LG with the assistance of a Harvey Norman staff member. Sounded impressive and suitable. Despite trying seemingly, the strongest settings, soaking, rewashing and lots of cursing. Colours, whites, darks, let alone filthy, Nothing comes out clean. Once all untangled, even casual clothing comes out streaked. I would feel guilty selling it to someone else. Expensive giveaway. Id like to see the power bill after its gone.

Never Buy LG again
Changing lint filters is well nigh impossible, have broken 2 so far and of the new ones we bought only one goes in properly, here's hoping it comes back out !!!! Customer service is non existent and cost a fortune in calls, wasted time and so much stress with absolutely no result. The grey bits on my washing are unbelievable and I wish I had read these reviews before we bought this cursed washing machine.

hat it hasn't got any better. I can see it has been discontinued thank goodness but I would strongly advise everyone to steer clear of LG washing machines. Like everyone else I get this awful muck which LG apparently calls SCRUD so they know about the problem and there is no fix, I've tried everything they suggest in the manual too and nothing works. At least the filters haven't packed up yet but the programs have and it can take several tries to actually get a load to complete a cycle. The day it stops working will be great as I'll have to buy a new machine but can't afford to replace it yet. LG is a terrible company.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Terrible. Brown sludge on washing.
Extremely disappointed. Bought this machine less than 18 months ago and over the last 6 months it has been making our washing dirtier! We don't use fabric softener, we use the correct amount of detergent, we wash in warm and empty lint filters regularly.
I've done tub cleans, hot vinegar and bicarb washes, used dishwasher cleaner (as I've read is worth a try) and it's still the same. It has to be a design fault as I have treated it no differently to our previous Simpson machine which lasted 15 years and NEVER made our washing scummy.

s also quite noisy and tangles the clothes up. Definitely won't ever buy another LG washing machine again. As we can't afford to fork out for a new machine any time soon, I'll have to keep shaking the gross stuff off and giving it all a quick spin in the dryer.1 comment

Seals Peeling after 3 Years
I brought our LG WT-H750 (7.5Kg) Washing Machine from Harvey Norman castle Hills on 31 Dec 2011, it was delivered on 07 Han 2012. Now I have noticed that the seals between the inner drum and outer drum is peeling off like plastic thread. I believe it is a defective seals and the LG would be willing to replace it even though it is out of its 2 years Warranty by 7 months.
Burt unfortunately LG knows NSW Fair Trading is a toothless Tiger and hence LG declined to accept any liability, as pasted below:

I believe your Seal between the outer and inner drum is Peeling Off like mine. LG's Manila Customer Service has been trained to decline any responsibility without considering the Technical Aspect of the defects.
LG Wants me to pay $150 (25% of the costs of the WT-H750) for their technician for assessing if this is a manufacturing defects or not??
After providing the purchase proof and photo of compliance plates etc, LG wrote back to me as copied below:... Read more
sorry if LG may not be able to assist this time for it was found to be a non manufacturing fault as per verified by our tech dept based from the photos sent. " Not manufacturing defect, likely from overloading and inner tub scraping causing friction on surrounding tub ballast ring." feel free to have a second assessment at your own cost to check further the faults on the unit but again, service call will be charged to you. thank you. Erickson,I have checked the WT-H750 by running with only few clothes (Under Load-UL) to check the Response of the LG Customer Service (in Manila) that overloading was the issue for the seal to peel off. LG told me to use a screwdriver each time the wash finishes to remove lint filter.
The lint filters in this machine - which is generally a really good machine - are ridiculously hard to remove. First I was told to get a man to remove them (I'm a woman. I live alone. Was very unimpressed about this), then told to either get a screwdriver to get the lint filters out (I'm sure my warranty will cover *that* breakage!) or get a hose, aim it in the general direction of the (completely plastic encased) lint filters) and blast them. Very unimpressed.
Good machine generally.
Can't use it more than a couple of times if you can't clean the lint filter.

Also, one lint filter is really difficult to remove. One is fine, so it's nothing I'm doing wrong. Such a painful, disappointing appliance.
