Bought the machine in April 2016. Lint! Lint! On everything. Lint filter no don't one. Wash the clothes then go outside with a lint brush before bringing the clothes inside. Where does all the lint come from? Previous loads. As for service in Canberra act. One company only. One other Company want service call fee over the phone when you book. The other is sooooo busy can't service for at least another week. As for the LG Care centre, don't think the staff are in Australia. For future reference don't buy it unless it has a lint filter. LG products are good. Question - why no lint filter in this model?

Sounds like your filter at the bottom at the back of the machine. Suspect that could be full, in is further in the outlet pipe I think from memory. Needs cleaning that might solve it??

Hi Kristine, yes it does. Should be on the barrel on the inside on the side somewhere. Don’t know how to explain it sorry. But that where mine is. You have to like pop it open.

Hi, mine is a stainless steel inside but theres nothing else on the side. Just the drum.

Maree

no lint filter, hence I posted about dirty washing, impossible to get clean sheets, the lint sticks to the sheets and gets in the creasers, the sheets come out dirtier than when you put them in. Of course you can do a drum clean of two, which uses up 3+ hours of electricity, not good for reducing our carbon foot print. I asked about the lint filter at the time or purchase and was told the machine doesn't need it as it washes all the lint away, which is absolutely not true.

We have been generally happy with our machine, except for the erratic timer. It seems to reset the amount of time to go without any human input. We can check the time to run and it may be, for example a few minutes, when we go back five minutes or so later, it has changed to 20miutes or more to run. It has always done this but at first only occasionally, now it is with almost every wash. Any suggestions?

Ooh,no sorry. The only thing I can think of maybe its adding time according to the load? You may have to contact LG. I have always found them to be really helpful.

Thanks, I did that but all their call centre (Philippines, I think) did was refer me to one of their authorised repairers - $110 for the visit and $22 per 10 minute period for labour plus parts. No advice without a service visit I'm afraid.

I have never had a problem like that with either of our LG machines. Could it be fabric softener? I was getting a bit of build up in my front loader (Electrolux) and I have just switched to using vinegar instead and its fixed the problem,,it works just as well, its far cheaper and it cleans the machine as well! I know if you wash in cold water the fabric softener goes thick and gunky, especially in a front loader. Otherwise it could be too much detergent? Have you tried a tub clean?

Hi Mate,

The lint filter is built in automatic so you shouldnt need clean it to but a service technican should be able to confirm if thats the case.

Terrence

Have a look at page 34 of the User Instructions / manual -- (assuming --- not always wise -- that the 6.5 and the 7.5 are of similar construction ), there is a method shown for cleaning the pump casing and filter. Frequency is reduced by design and the task requires access to the rear of the machine. Machines requiring frequent lint disposal usually have the lint trap accessible from the front.
Automatic lint filter cleaning should not be taken too literally. Just as tub cleaning is often overlooked, and that process is in the manual as well.

Mary

Hi Bob,
I'm probably not the best person to answer this question as I didn't realise that the machine, WTG8532WH, had a filter, so have never tried to clean it.
I have now read the manual and it says to close the taps, turn on washer, press start/pause.
It will attempt to start washing. When the water stops turn off the power at the power point.
Remove the inlet water supply hose, pull out the filter and clean with a brush.
Refit the filter and and reconnect the inlet hose.
This does not seem to be a very user friendly procedure.
I have not had a problem with lint on my clothes.
However I don't think the machine has enough water if it fills up automatically.
Therefore I always set the water level manually so the washing has plenty of water in the machine to swirl around .

My warning was EE (the first letter was E was incomplete with the top bar of the E missing).

Paul

The DL Stands for the Door (Lid) lock. Check the lid is closed and nothing is caught under the lid and then press the start button. If the little red padlock light is on the display then it is working.

Paul

THe EE warning is something you need to call LG about (according to the Manual)

There is no foam on the clothes when we wash the clothes inspite of pouring more than enough detergent powder. I used the machine twice. How to sort out this problem.

i use front loader powder in mine so it dosnt foam up so much & it washers beautifully. You don't need it to foam up otherwise you will have soap in your cloths

Quilter

I use liquid detergent and you don't get foam from this.

shazjlee

Maybe use less detergent, more is not better when it comes to washing powder. Also do you do cold washes and use fabric softener, if so the fabric softener will leave a wax residue on the cloths which can be sorted with a hot wash.

Where is the lint filter located?

3 answers

I went to Harvey Norman today and was told by the sales guy that there is no lint filter in LG WTG7532WH. The problem reported by Gabe from Sydney sounds more like a faulty product. I owned a Whilrpool top loader that did not have a lint filter and lint never clogged the machine. The only problem is that lint stays on clothes. Is there any one else experiencing the same problem?

I read the instruction and it does state that the pump casing needs cleaning which involves pulling out the machine and removing foreign objects from filter. Is this where the problem is for Gabe? I would consider it a bad design if I have to do it every 6 months as maintenance. It also says in the manual that this is only for the pump model drain hose. So if I choose the non-pump model, then I would not have this problem?

I just bought this machine today now I am worried!!!

J.H
J.H

called LG today, to my horror, all the LG WTG7532W distributed in Australia are the pump model. The users are required to clean the pump casing located at the back of the machine near the bottom next to the drain hose, once every month, according to customer service. So I have cancelled the order and go for a Speedqueen.

Paul
Paul

Do a tub clean every couple of months (or monthly if you do a lot of loads) Buy a washing machine cleaner satchel from your supermarket (coles and woolies stock them around the wool wash). then you only need to clean the sump now and again.

I do not understand what you mean " compromising hot water hose." Do you mean without using the hot water hose ? That would be possible if you made your own settings using favourites, adc just selected cold water presets.
