Went from bright to dim

published

Installed the 48 inch dimmable and colour shifting led ceiling fan in my sons room to give him more light. The lights worked fine and gave a lot of light when suddenly they dimmed right down.

Purchased in November 2021.

Lucci is Beacon’s house brand of landfill fodder. Cheap china junk with big margin. Poor design of oyster dome means it jams. Halogen globes blow constantly (though the newer model is now LED and likely more reliable). Fans are often poorly balanced out of the box and require fiddling with weights on blades to balance. Motors eventually seize or wall controllers fail. Have had four of these in my home now all replaced with a different brand over last seven years. 2 year warranty is not good enough. Two years is only two summers and a product like this should last 15 years or more. Only thing they are good for is keeping electricians busy earning coin from installing and then replacing.

Impossible to change the bulbs when they blow

published

I bought three Futura fans from Beacon Lighting less than a year ago - two of the fans have lights in them. These fans seemed fine, until both blew the light globes in under a year. I'm finding it impossible to remove the glass bowls to get to the light globes. I'm going to have to pay for an electrician to change the globes, which is ridiculous!

not worth buying

published

bought 4 of these fans June 2014, the one used daily didn't last 18 months. Couldn't find receipt for warranty so had to purchase another January 2016 as i didn't want odd fans on ceiling. Now 24 months along replacement fan is failing the same way, so they are good fans for decoration only just don't use them regularly. Seems that i will be replacing all fans with another brand, but wait having a sparkie at hand found out its only a capacitor used in the units that's failing, $1.50 part on ebay !!! For a sparkie very easy fix, so i was lucky i held onto the 1st one that died and will get him to repair both, but only because it will save me $1000 plus to replace all fans.

Don't buy this product. Warranty.. takes a month before they comes and have a look at it

published

The fan was installed 3 months ago and all of a sudden the fan and light not working. Spoke to Beacon Lighting and was told to fill in the warranty form. Takes a week before they reply and it will take another 3 weeks before they come and have a look at it. At the mean time i am left without the main light and fan in my lounge room. They said that they need to get the spare from the Eastern State. But they do have spare remote in one of the local Beacon light shop locally in Perth.

I bought this fan with another one from Beacon Lighting Homemaker Centre, Fortitude Valley Brisbane on 5/1/17. They have both worked brilliantly up until today when one has stopped completely. The red light comes on on the remote with no response from the fan or light. What do I need to do now? Is there a simple fix?? I have a the receipt

Hi Debbie, Thanks so much and I have put in a warranty claim with Beacon and they hopefully will follow up, It is the remote that came with the fan.

Terribly slow airflow

published

Bought 6 fans (4 with lights) from Beacon Lighting at Underwood Qld. I did have them on lay-by for a few months and when I collected them 3 of them looked like a newer batch as the boxes were different. Three of the fans are extremely slow with very minimal airflow. Have to get the old pedestal fans out for the kids bedrooms. Obviously half my order had a different batch of fans which obviously had a manufacturing default. I checked my receipts and they are out of warranty. Very upset as I now have to replace the fans. There is obviously a very big issue with these fans which the company must be aware of.

Poor quality fans - droopy blades

published

We purchased a 6 year old house in Brisbane with these fans installed throughout - 7 fans in total. Airflow is quite good - a little noisy but ALL fans have droopy blades and yet these fans are rated for alfresco areas. I assume the plywood used in the blade construction is of poor quality. We have replaced the worst one used in an alfresco area (partially enclosed with 3 full walls and one half wall), but all are going to need to be replaced.

Avoid these fans unless you live in the desert.

Future fans are terrible

published

Purchased 5 fans and spent a lot of money, one burnt out 2 weeks after warranty expired, the other 4 don't give any breeze at all. I am planning to throw them all out and replace with a better brand. I now have to spend double to replace them. I would not recommend these fans to anybody.

Wouldn't buy another one

We purchased two of these fans about 2.5 years ago from beacon lighting. The light function is great but the actual fan is a dud! The speed function of the fan seems to have broken. It has three speeds... slow, slower and slowest. After reading reviews on here no doubt the second fan will also pack it in. Of course it is just outside the warranty so I guess we will look at changing to a more reliable brand.

Same old story.....Dud fans

We purchased 2 x Futura Eco 122cm and 1 x Fijian II with remotes. After a couple of years and over $800 spent, both Futura's gradually stopped working and the Fijian is making a racket and no light working.
I rang Beacon Lighting only to be told it could the ripple effect....more like the Butterfly Effect!
I see Lucci saying they have 2 years warranty but I would not buy these again unless they had a 5 year warranty. It would be best to spend more money on a brand with good reviews than this one.
I have some different fans in our bedrooms that are over 10 years old...still going strong......

Not worth it

published

We purchased 2 Futura Eco fans in 2010. After about 18 months one of the fans started operating on high speed only and a few months later it stopped working completely - no fan and no light. About 3 years ago we asked an electrician if it could be fixed - he said no we'd have to buy a new fan. Meanwhile the second fan is still working but started making a clicking sound after a year or so, and still makes that sound to this day.. I wish we'd checked the product reviews first!

Terrible

published

Hi. I bought 4 Lucci Futura 48 fans in January 2013. They are noisy and make it difficult to sleep. Just after the 2yrs all four stopped working. Called Prospect Beacon and was told that they could not help because the warranty was for two years only. Called an electrician and was told the motors had gone. Wouldn't that show that there was something wrong with that batch. All 4 go at the same time. We also brought the remotes. Now we need to replace them. What do we do? Buy the same brand and use the same remote or go and buy another brand and have to buy new remotes? Terrible noisy fans.

Hi Greg, Sorry to hear about the issues you are having with your fan. I would suggest changing the frequency by changing the DIP switches located in the remote transmitter ( battery compartment) and the remote receiver in the ceiling canopy of the fan. The instructions for this can be found on the Installation Instruction shttps://www.beaconlightingtradeclub.com.au/media/wysiwyg/211025-028_IM_VER1_0_2015-12-9_.pdf
If this does not work I would recommend contacting our warranty department on 1800602243.

Hi there, 2 out of the 3 ceiling/light fans are working fine, however one of them seems to be half the brightness of the other 2 lights on all three dimmer settings. I changed over the light unit from the perfect fan to the fan of issue and this did not fix the problem. It seems there must be a dimmer fault in the fan?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
