stopped working
I bought this fan with another one from Beacon Lighting Homemaker Centre, Fortitude Valley Brisbane on 5/1/17. They have both worked brilliantly up until today when one has stopped completely. The red light comes on on the remote with no response from the fan or light. What do I need to do now? Is there a simple fix?? I have a the receipt

Hi Debbie, Thanks so much and I have put in a warranty claim with Beacon and they hopefully will follow up, It is the remote that came with the fan.

Terribly slow airflow
Bought 6 fans (4 with lights) from Beacon Lighting at Underwood Qld. I did have them on lay-by for a few months and when I collected them 3 of them looked like a newer batch as the boxes were different. Three of the fans are extremely slow with very minimal airflow. Have to get the old pedestal fans out for the kids bedrooms. Obviously half my order had a different batch of fans which obviously had a manufacturing default. I checked my receipts and they are out of warranty. Very upset as I now have to replace the fans. There is obviously a very big issue with these fans which the company must be aware of.

Poor motor quality
We purchased five eco fans three with lights for bedrooms, and four of them have either stopped working or go very slow. The bearings are noisy and the worse they get the noisier the fan gets. Wished there was somehow they (bearings) could be oiled. One stopped working completely after two years, with the other two getting slower and slower. Even the replacement fan is starting to have the same problems. The problem is worse in the ones with the lights. Speed 3 is the slowest and to feel a decent breeze it needs to be on 1. Only one (without a light) seems to have lasted.

Poor quality fans - droopy blades
We purchased a 6 year old house in Brisbane with these fans installed throughout - 7 fans in total. Airflow is quite good - a little noisy but ALL fans have droopy blades and yet these fans are rated for alfresco areas. I assume the plywood used in the blade construction is of poor quality. We have replaced the worst one used in an alfresco area (partially enclosed with 3 full walls and one half wall), but all are going to need to be replaced.
Avoid these fans unless you live in the desert.

Disappointing
We have 3x Futura 52 fan and white light, model 210873, purchased 2012. Out of three units one had motor fail and had to be replaced after less than 3 years, we got no help from Beacon, only offered an $11 discount on a new unit and of course also had to pay for installation. Now another has a problem with the light going off after a few seconds. The cheap fan we installed in our bedroom 25 years ago is still going strong! These fans look great, but obviously have manufacturing quality problems judging by the experiences shown in this forum.

Not even electricians can change globes in some of these fans
I spent nearly a couple of grand on light fittings for my Queensland house at Beacon Lighting. I have always used them in Melbourne through multiple renos. I bought four Lucci Futura ceiling fan lights which were great until the Halogen globe needed changing. Handyman couldn't change it so I called electrician. He even had to take fitting off the ceiling and still can't get the glass bowl off to change it. He called Beacon Lighting, they said that he would have to break the glass bowl to change the globe which they would replace for free (...Read more
bowl that is). However, we could pay $60 for a LED conversion kit as apparently it may happen again with a halogen globe. I spoke to the manager who admitted that this had happened at his own house with the same fitting but said that this did not mean light fitting was faulty. I'm thinking nuking it DOES mean fitting is of faulty design as I asked electrician to check if he could unscrew glass bowls on other fans and another one of the three other fittings was so stubborn that he had to break the glass bowl to get access to the globe. Not satisfactory at all. I think I bought in 2014 and don't know month so have guessed both to submit review.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Future fans are terrible
Purchased 5 fans and spent a lot of money, one burnt out 2 weeks after warranty expired, the other 4 don't give any breeze at all. I am planning to throw them all out and replace with a better brand. I now have to spend double to replace them. I would not recommend these fans to anybody.

Installed 3 and they have all failed after 2 years.
I bought 3 of these fans for use in our bedrooms over summer. They got minimal use in the evening but it would appear the receivers for the wireless remote have failed on all of them over the last 6 months i.e. lots of flickering light, noisy motor with the light on and random activation in the middle of the night. I went into Beacon Lighting and was told I would need to have an electrician to replace the receivers as they only have a 12 month warranty. I'm not sure about the quality of the fan but the remote transmitter and receiver package ...Read more
is obviously pretty crap and not designed to last given the number of issues reported here. Certainly having to spend $99 per unit every two years is not what most people would consider reasonable. Do not waste your time or money. These fans a noisy / I bought tow of them, the first year had to get them both fixed. Light wouldn't work and the other second speed failed. The next year the electricals fail, the whole thing had to be replaced. C r a p! Then the other one the glass cover explodes in my hand trying to remove it for cleaning covering me in shards of glass and all over my daughter's room.

Wouldn't buy another one
We purchased two of these fans about 2.5 years ago from beacon lighting. The light function is great but the actual fan is a dud! The speed function of the fan seems to have broken. It has three speeds... slow, slower and slowest. After reading reviews on here no doubt the second fan will also pack it in. Of course it is just outside the warranty so I guess we will look at changing to a more reliable brand.

Terrible fans, they all die, one by one!
We bought 5 cheap $ 50 fans to our old house from Bunnings and they never missed a beat during the 10 years we lived there. We moved in to our new house where my wife decided we should upgrade to some more expensive fans which we did by buying 4 Lucci Futura LD 140 129 WH for $ 169 each which was installed by a licenced electrician late 2012. After 2-3 years they started slowing down and eventually hardly moving at all. Late 2013 we did a big extension and installed 5 new fans, same model as previously but 2 of them for outdoor use. ose fans doesnt get used so often but we use the one in the bedroom frequently and it has now lost half of its speed and is pretty useless. It seems like the problem is in the fan motor as Ive checked the switches and they are ok. To have such a short life span on a relatively more expensive fan is just totally unacceptable! My wife were up to Beacon discussing the issue not that long ago but the shop assistant had never heard about a problem with these fans!!!!!!!!!!!!??????? I think the company behind them should come to the party and offer some solution even if they are outside the warranty period!1 comment

Perfect fan. Great airflow.
Have had these installed for some time and can't fault them. The airflow is great and the fans are quiet. Seems most people have issues with the remotes. Ours are on a wall control. Couldn't get through hot summers without them. We do get ripple in two rooms of our house, but it is very quiet and doesn't bother us. Seems most of the complaints on here should be about the remotes, not the fan itself. We have ten of these fans in our house.

Fan stopped working but great service from Beacon Lighting in replacing it
I bought 4 of these fans about 2.5 years ago so they were just out of warranty when one stopped working. I looked on this thread and decided to email Beacon Lighting to discuss the issue. They were excellent, I was phoned by the manager at the Artarmon store he arranged for the fan to be replaced and for an electrician to come and install the new fan all within 48 hours. Alan even delivered the fan personally to ensure it arrived before the scheduled electrician did. My other three fans are all still working perfectly so who knows why this one stopped work, but credit to Beacon Lighting their service in rectifying the situation was outstanding.

Same old story.....Dud fans
We purchased 2 x Futura Eco 122cm and 1 x Fijian II with remotes. After a couple of years and over $800 spent, both Futura's gradually stopped working and the Fijian is making a racket and no light working.
I rang Beacon Lighting only to be told it could the ripple effect....more like the Butterfly Effect!
I see Lucci saying they have 2 years warranty but I would not buy these again unless they had a 5 year warranty. It would be best to spend more money on a brand with good reviews than this one.
I have some different fans in our bedrooms that are over 10 years old...still going strong......

Premature failure
We purchased this fan from Beacon, and we didn't notice at first, but it got slower and slower until it became inneffective. The motor is gone, and so is our likelyhood of buying lucci brand fans again. It wasn't even in a high-usage area so the early failure shows up the poor quality of the product.

Not worth it
We purchased 2 Futura Eco fans in 2010. After about 18 months one of the fans started operating on high speed only and a few months later it stopped working completely - no fan and no light. About 3 years ago we asked an electrician if it could be fixed - he said no we'd have to buy a new fan. Meanwhile the second fan is still working but started making a clicking sound after a year or so, and still makes that sound to this day.. I wish we'd checked the product reviews first!

Terrible
Hi. I bought 4 Lucci Futura 48 fans in January 2013. They are noisy and make it difficult to sleep. Just after the 2yrs all four stopped working. Called Prospect Beacon and was told that they could not help because the warranty was for two years only. Called an electrician and was told the motors had gone. Wouldn't that show that there was something wrong with that batch. All 4 go at the same time. We also brought the remotes. Now we need to replace them. What do we do? Buy the same brand and use the same remote or go and buy another brand and have to buy new remotes? Terrible noisy fans.

BUZZING
Don't bother buying these fans. They may look OK aesthetically, but there is an intermittent buzzing that can wake you up from a dead sleep in the middle of the night and can last anywhere between 2 seconds to a minute!! It's absolutely ridiculous. Forget about it and spend your money elsewhere.
