The house was fully rewired 5 years ago and all lights, fans, fittings etc replaced at the same time. As a part of the refit I purchased 3 of these fans (plus a 32 inch) along with the remote kits. So around a $1000 outlay just for fans & $400 in remotes. All fans are very rarely used due to having ducted cooling.
3/3 fans have issues (all different). One fan got super hot then burnt out shorted itself out. Another fan just stopped working, new receiver required, another call out. Same fan, started tripping the lighting power safety switch,...
Read more another call out to disconnect, then another call out to replace. Only remaining of the 1220mm fans suffers from the below described electrical ripple sounds (other non-lucci fans in the house don't get the noise). On the upside, the bigger one purchased has been fine *touch wood*These fans look great and suit our house well. However, I bought 5 of these fans 4 years ago, 2 have completely stopped working and the other three are barely turning and get very hot. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a ceiling fan to last for 4 years and be functional.

I have these remote fans in my unit as the ceiling cannot be re-wired. After just over two years the light gradually stopped working (initially it would come on but go out if the fan was on at the same time and then stopped altogether). Then a number of months later the fan stopped working as well. As it was outside warranty I had an electrician come out and he replaced the remote unit and it worked perfectly. Then another 18 months later the light stopped working again - currently the fan will only work on the lowest speed. I have wasted enough money on this fan I'm going to go for a different brand this time - start from scratch!

Bought this fan in Jan 2014. Exactly after two years it has stopped working. Tried swapping the remote from other rooms, didn't work. Not buying it again. Such a simple machine these ceiling fans are, I wonder how someone can ever go wrong with making a sturdy fan. My pedestal fan has done more years than ceiling fan. Will have to spend fortune in getting it fixed. Disappointed.

Ours Beacon Lighting Lucci fan/light model is not that old, not used that often, and already has died. But of course I cannot tell without replacing either part, and this is not something I am prepared to do.Having read the long string of complaints here, I would be amazed if this does not deserve a product recall especially given the risk of fire/injury/death with electrical items such as these. In early 2013 I bought 4 Lucci Futura fans. They look nice and were exactly what we wanted for our Queenslander in Yeppoon.
We got one 1320mm with lights (lounge) and 2x1220 mm fans with lights (kids rooms) and one 1220 mm fan without lights (our room). All were installed by a licensed electrician. I use them only in summer.
In mid-2015 I replaced the 1320 mm fan as it had slowed down to such an extent that it was inneffective (top speed slower than the slowest speed on the others) and in late 2015 I replaced the 1220 mm fan without a ligh...
Read moret for the same reason.By Today (25/01/2016) the two remaining originals are now running slow. One had worked itself so loose I had to open it up and tighten the two large nuts that hold the motor assembly steady on the shaft as it was wobbling alarmingly and clicking at any speed, however it is only really effective on max speed where its output is pretty much the same as it should be on low. It makes a loud laboured hum when in use. The other is starting to slow now. If you start it on low it rotates at about 10 rpm, although it remains OK on mid and high settings. Of the replacements the 1220 without a light I replaced with a 1320 without a light. It had an annoying clicking that would manifest only at slow speeds which mean it could only be used at full blast. When I opened it up I found the metal rod right at the top of the shaft was about 5mm too short and was flopping around with the slight oscillation. I had to fix by wedging a small piece of folded paper at one end of it. Now its OK though. The thing I find most annoying about this entire experience is that all have failed outside their two year warranty and now, after three years, that I know they can't be relied upon, I'd have to replace all five fans (I bought another in 2014 for our kitchen) to make them match. Instead I'm locked into replacing them every 2-3 years and this just doesn't seem reasonable. In fact its a pain in neck.Hi Graham, I am sorry to hear an the issue you are having with your fans. I need to correct my review. The original four fans were purchased in EARLY 2011 and NOT 2013. The first replacement was done in late 2013 and the subsequent replacement in 2015 and the latter two are failing now.

Read morentacted Beacon lighting about the receiver that had burnt which was given to them for appraisal ( I never head any more about that receiver I have photo of the same ) I was told that this is a one off case and I should not be concerned. I now switch all these off after use as I still think that these could be a fire hazard. To have remote control that you need to turn on and off at the supply is defeating the purpose of having them. I am now deciding what are my options with these fans and remote, to buy 3 more controllers and continue leaving them switch off or to scrap them and have peace of mind that my house will not catch on fire if one of these burns up and purchase new fans and controllers. I would be very wary to buy from Beacon lighting again. Up until now I have spent $2706.27 on the initial purchase and $449.80 on replacement controllers, If my trade was not electrical I would have been up for a lot of service work from an installer.
