Terrible

published

This fan was recommended to us by Beacon staff as a good fan with lots of air flow for a living room. It does the opposite. Was installed by an electrician with remote however only operates at one speed! Works very poorly for our living space and we are very disappointed.

Thank you very much. I know the fan is over 12 months old and we purchased it a little while before installation. I will follow your advice though.
Thanks Tracey

Wish I had googled before I let the builder put these in my house!

published

I have 5 of these fans throughout my house, all of which make terrible humming noises and the lights seem to work only when they want to.

Had all the ballasts replaced when i moved in and still the lights randomly work, I've had electricians come out to take a look and was told they were all rubbish.

Local Beacon store was rude and should be ashamed of the lack of customer service delivered to a customer who spent $250 a fan.

Terrible Product. These Should Be Recalled.

published

What a crap fan. Bought in March 2012. Installed by licensed electrician. Was always noisy. Lasted 2 summers altogether about 40 running hours. Now won't go at all. Bad follow up from Beacon lighting. Won't go back there in a hurry! What a terrible fan sale. Will go to Bunnings next time. This must be the crappiest product of the decade!

Rubbish service and fan

published

I purchased 8 of these fans from Beacon lighting with in a few months 2 had to be repaired and 2 had moters replaced at no time did they say they were installed wrong, they were installed by a licensed electrian who had installed hundreds of the things. With in a year they were all having same problems rang Beacon tried to tell me they were installed wrong and sent a man out who quoted a lot of money to repair.I was not happy and asked my electrian who advised me that was not right and it was faulty remote controls. Beacon lighting I won't be coming back. The other 4 fans are also failing now as they are not used very much.

Bought this fan from Beacon lighting in Jan 2013. Had to buy a remote separately. Worked well the first year.
Second year 2014 the fan started to make a bit of a noise when on slow. This year it doesn't work at all. Disgusting . I wont be going back to Beacon lighting again. I will have to buy a new fan now from somewhere else. Actually Bunnings have them out for $80 with a remote and a light so that may be the way to go.

Faulty Fan remote control units

published

I purchase 10 Futura light fans from Beacon Lighting in January 2012. Since then I have had every remote unit changed atleast twice and some now 3 times. Coming into summer, I now have 6 of these units not working. Beacon have been good to deal it his matter but I do feel that as the units are now getting older, they will become reluctant to help. I'm tied of wasting my time and energy having these units replaced every 6 months. Surely these units should be recalled and replaced with an item that works. When you purchase ceiling fans, you don't expect a 6 monthly maintainance deal included.

Wrong attachment in box

Putting together the fan but couldn't work out why the light cover wouldn't fit. Purchased another light cover from Beacon for $30 only to find out it also doesn't fit. Took the assembled fan back to beacon and was told that one of the pieces was from a different model of fan. So basically I'm not happy and now $30 out of pocket plus my wasted time....

It's 2235 And I Can't Turn The Light Off

Pregnant. Uncomfortable. Wanting nothing more than to sleep in my own bed after 12 hour shift to rest my weary legs. Nope light on ceiling fan is stuck on. Perfect. Off to beacon tomorrow to hopefully sought this out. What an inconvenience, I should have believed the terrible reviews prior to purchasing. Product is less than 12 months old. Very disappointed.

Absolute Rubbish. Spend Your Money on Something Else

published

Luccia Future Eco fan rubbish. I keep feeling it's my fault why globes keep breaking or flicking and then the fan stays on high. Replaced receiver twice now with the seller in Alexandria advising me the slimline remote was much better quality. Exactly one year on it starts playing up again and now two years on it starts with same issues again. Not sure if it's the remote or the fan. Thinking of ripping it out and starting again unless Beacon can advise otherwise.

total rip off

published

Immediately after I had 3 of these installed (by a qualified electrician) they were noisy. I contacted Beacon who said if it turned out that they were incorrectly installed - they would charge me their electricians cost! which on reflection was a good way of putting me off!! They progressively got worse and not long after the warranty ran out they just stopped working. A very expensive and very annoying experience. I will never ever buy another product from Beacon. I work in retail and could never treat a customer with this deception. I was left feeling very ripped off.

Receiver Failure

published

Poor device - no power surge protection in the receiver - the new model now has it!
old receiver failed just outside 2 yr warranty - $63 to replace it!
Light works from Remote - fan controls seem to have reversed but the on/off doesn't work.
Motor is quite noisy!
Appalling!

Unbelievably unreliable Lucci fan and light

published

We have 4 Lucci Futura Eco fans with lights and 2 have had new receivers albeit discounted there is an obvious series of issues that Beacon Lighting needs to address. Costly repairs and a product that we certainly would not recommend. How does the quality control process take place?

Lucci Futura Eco Fan

published

Do not buy these fans! In the space of 2 and 1/2 years I have two fans break. The first one broke via the remote control receiver overheating and stopped working in the fan (not the hand held part) and now the second receiver has broken a week ago. Same problem, the lights sound like they will explode if they are left on. Hard wired fans are the only way to go but I won't not recommend Lucci Brand to anyone.

Beacon Lighting should not stock this brand!

I agree Lucci fans a nightmare

published

I had 6 fans installed with remotes due to ease of fitting as advised by electrician. I have had to replace 3 remotes already (fans are 2 years old) and one of the remotes i replaced about 12 months ago is not working, fan is on and won't switch off. 2 others are now making the grinding noise so much that you don't want to use the fan...wish i had never bothered.

Lucci Fetura

Brought 3 fans from Beacon. Was not told that the remotes really have only a limited life. You pay for the fan, you get an electrician to wire them in for you, then when it makes a scraping noise, finally giving up the ghost, you need to either buy a new remote or fan, either which requires an electrician to program it in again. The remote for the fan in question was not very old, was hardly used, but was just out of its warranty (12 months). What a rip off.
