Another winner from Makita!

This tool is wonderful, enabling me to take down large clumps of vetiver grass on my block with ease. Much more powerful than the 18V version. Has a swivelling handle so that I can easily do the sides of plants as well. Well thought out. It's quite expensive at $399; for that price a brushless motor should have been supplied.

Light enough for my wife to use, and as powerful as the corded version. Great!

I have tall hedges and want to trim not only the sides but the top also....without climbing a ladder. Will this do the job...? Thank you.

No, you will need a ladder as well

Hi, the best way without a ladder is a hinged pole trimmer:

These are not inexpensive but neither are the medical bills when you fall off a ladder.
The Makita one works well - you will need 6Ah batteries and a twin charger if you don’t have them already. The batteries on this one partially balance the weight of the cutting head. I can do about a metre of the top of the hedge every minute and about the same for a two metre high hedge side. Pause every so often to give your arms a break unless you spend a lot of time in the gym. My daughter does hedges better than me, they end up neater and more even. There are often specials on Makita power garden stuff, I’d check Total Tools for pricing. Enjoy Trimming!

Through any Makita dealer. They'll have the price. You could also enquire at www.makita.com.au
