Hassle Free - So Far !

Had a Masport 530 for 10 years. Admittedly generally only used once a year on 1 acre block at Spring. Easy start every time. No problems and with minimum maintenance - change the oil once a year. Some rust developing on underside but that's due to me not cleaning down after use. Handle does come loose - fix by tying.

    Bad

OK - had this mower since September 2005. Good point is that the wider blade means less to-ing and fro-ing. The main problem is the collapsible handle which comes loose all the time and when you are pushing the mower you are suddenly propelled forwards over the top of the mower, losing your balance! Have tightened and tightened the handle bits as much as possible only to have it shaken loose a minute or two later. Extremely dangerous. Other fault is the cast iron piece above the bar, this has cracked and fallen off twice now and we now operate the mower without it.
