Reliable in the toughest conditions, good wearing - quiet in comparison to most comparable tyre
I have run the Maxis 700's on my Hilux since 2002 (new), the Hilux is now coming up for 300,000 k's on Western Australian roads, tracks, beach's, bush and anywhere else to access fishing and camping spots. Travelled extensively throughout the Pilbara Region as a part of my work in the Mining industry (rough/corrugated, hard iron ore roads on days of 50 degrees C in the shade), never had a wall failure (blow-out), had two punctures (both nails of considerable size - back in Perth).
If these tyres are a problem to you - have a look at the tyre p...Read more

These are great tyres for 4x4's and SUV's.
This is the second lot of Maxxis A/T 700 Bravo that I have fitted toy Triton. I have been impressed by how well these tyres have performed both on road and off road. The first lot of Maxxis AT 700 Bravo's I got over 80,000 kilometers out of on all sorts of roads and road conditions. They are a quiet sounding tyre and have complimated my Triton and have performed above my expectations.

Terrible quality regretful decision
Looking for a tyre that vibrates, wobbles and bounces down the highway, then these are for you. I've had these tyres fitted for a little over 2000ks and have had the balanced and re-balanced 3 times. Each time I'm told the balance is a long way out. I'm currently trying to get a replacement from Maxxis. Should have stuck with Hankook.

Great tyres, a little expensive
Looking like getting better mileage from these than my original Bridgestones, which gave me 62,000kms, and they have a more aggressive pattern. Not particularly cheap(set fitted was $940) but looking the goods, quiet on the road too. The importer offers very good service to the fitter, I ordered them, they didn't have the tyres, but were able to fit the same day.

Will not buy again
I haven't even done 5000km and the rear tyre got a hole in the sidewall on a dirt road. It was the first time on a gravel road, I definitely want go off road with these tyres what a waste of money. If you buy them stay on the bitumen or be prepared to have punctures or do what I have to do and throw it away and buy another new tyre.

Has handled everything I've thrown at it
These tyres came with the 4runner I bought. They didn't look particularly aggressive but I have since done the strezlecki, Simpson, savannah, Birdsville, Gibbers and Canning on them. I have done river crossings with slimy rocks, rock climbing, sand, dunes and some of the most horrible rutted roads in Australia. I have barely had to engage the front wheels at all (maybe 10%). I have been bogged once. Lowered the psi to 20 and off she went. I get basically the same economy on dirt as I do on bitumen and in 10000 km I have not yet had a puncture, ...Read more
touch wood. I've always run Hankooks on my old bj40 of which I have driven around Australia on, twice, but I am seriously impressed with the Maxxis. Oh, and they're bloody good in the wet, will not skid in emergency braking and don't throw you sideways driving through water. Ripper tyre and I'd highly recommend them.1 comment

OK on Tar Rubbish on Rocky roads
Bought at the time for low cost at time $200ea, perform ok on tar and graded white metal roads.
Took them over graded rocky station tracks near flinders ranges and obliterated them in very low km.
Running 32psi at time and running conservative speeds. Punctures caused massive splits in the steel belts, not repairable, 2 x throw away. Definitely not an offroad or heavy load rated tyre. OK on Tar

Puncture after puncture.
Punctures after punctures. Biggest mistake I have ever made. payed over $1000 Since then I have had to replace 2 tyres for punctures all in the side wall. I gold detect over mainly quartz and not extreme off road driving. VERY, VERY SOFT IN THE SIDE WALL. I tow a van and the rear tyres are nearly down to the wear strip. Poorly made tyre rubbish

Disappointed
I have them on my 09 hilux and have done about 20,000klm on them, still got plenty of tread on them but I'm getting puncture after puncture from small rocks on gravel roads.I wanted to get a lot more wear out of them but I can't put up whith them anymore.5 punctures in 2 months is not a coincidence.

Best priced/value 4x4 tyre out there
i have the 285/75 x16 AT700 on my 80 series cruiser .they are very quiet compared to the coopers and i have driven on different conditions, Beach work, limestone tracks where i really thought i would damage them due to sharp rocks .& muddy conditions .Mileage is looking good at this stage, they track really good .My suspension is near new Pedders raised, all new bushes etc, and the price is right compared to brand names .I will have them again

Tyres skitter on the road
Have the tyres on my Kluger and find they seem to get "caught" in imperfections in the bitumen. Scary at times as the car feels out of my control for seconds as it skitters in the ruts, especially at higher speeds. Seems to be fine on good bitumen roads, but not on the less-than-perfect country roads.

bloody ripper tyres
Over 140000 klms from these. I am a road pilot, so lots of driving on tar seal and some off road. Tried others... can't go past maxxis.. used to get AT 771 from bob janes... not happy they no longer stock maxxis..as they recommended them to me... maxxis bravo for me.

not exactly happy with the maxxis AT700
Have had the Maxxis AT700 tyres fitted to my 200 series land Cruiser for just over 2 months and so far they have had to be balanced 3 times and I have not even travelled 800 kilometres. This could get expensive as the latest balance cost me $35 and I was told that every tyre was out by 50g which is odd since the car has never left the bitumen. At this rate I estimate that I will probably end up spending $300/year just to get a car with a minor vibration issue. The last tyre place that I took the car to drove the car and told me that there was n...Read more
othing wrong with the tyres but that they were the cause of the vibration at highway speed, sounds weird to me. In any case if a solution to this issue is not found I will not be using Maxxis tyres again as it feels like driving on a mildly corrugated road from just over 80kmh and up. The old tyres never presented with any vibration issues and were only balanced once in 44000k so what gives with these tyres.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Maxxis AT-700
After reading many of the product reviews on the Maxxis AT-700 and Maxxis AT-771 i have found that there is no difference between the two they have the same tread pattern, and i can get 265/75r16 AT-700's cheaper from Jax Quickfit instead of paying a higher cost from Bob Jane for the 771's, therefore a win in my wallet of $200.

Happy so far.
I have the AT-700 on my GU Patrol, 35000 km + so far and expecting another 35/40000 km without any trouble. I find them excellent on the highway and wear has been even across all 4. Off road work has been mainly sand and gravel and some rocky conditions. Some chopping and light damage to shoulders on steer tyres from rocks on the Canning stock route but nothing more than expected, perhaps lower tyre pressure may have reduced this. Limited use in muddy conditions so not sure how they would perform when asked the question.
I wouldn't hesitate bu...Read more

My Maxxis 700 A/T Bravo tyres on my 2005 Pajero are still very noisy on the highway after dropping tyres pressure from 38psi to 36psi any suggestions.?
1 answer
I'd say your pressures are too low. I run 40-45 front >45 rear on my 2007 Pajero. Lower pressures give more noise, more wear, more punctures

front and give the rear hell at 50. The car recommended manufacturer pressure is ridiculously low and that's why they get vibrations and stupid complaints from people who don't ever leave the bitumen. I don't even lower the pressure now unless I'm in sand or bulldust. Still loving these tyres and I'm giving them hell in the northern territory. Still no punctures. I've killed my suspension but the tyres just keep going.
