Hi i have recently bought a supreme M3/M200 second hand when i put it in the pool it seems to do 1 complete clean on the floor from left to right from its starting point then it stays on the wall cleaning the cove and just the edge of the pool. It will not return to the pool floor. i have plenty of cord and as previous advice i have done a manual scrub of the pool. Is there a memory in these cleaners or a way to reset it?.

Hi Pete. Maytronics robots are designed to maintain a clean pool. General pool maintenance is still required for a pool to remain in its most optimum condition. When a robot is missing parts of a pool, it is recommended to ensure that the robot enough slack in the cable to reach the entire pool. It is also recommended to try starting the cycle at a different location as the Dolphin’s scanning pattern will take it in a different path every time. The filter cartridges may be dirty or clogged and if so, may affect the robot’s ability to manoeuvre. Filter cartridges are able to be soaked in cartridge cleaner or a mild dishwashing detergent and warm water to assist in the removal of in-grained debris. Water chemistry levels and pH levels that are out of recommended range can prohibit the unit from climbing as the pool surface. This is due to the surface becoming slippery and thus, rendering the robot unable to gain the grip / traction required to move freely around the pool. We recommend a full water test and the pool balanced, where required. Following this, a manual brush down of the surfaces to ensure any slipperiness has been attended to. I can't help I am useless at those things but the part has to be inserted properly into the skimmer basket & it does not help if the pool water level is low. Also make sure is well attached to the sucky up part. Look for any breaks/leaks in the hose too

Hi Liz. Traditionally, manual cleaners and/or suction cleaners vacuum to waste and in many cases do so as the hose is connected via the skimmer box. We hope this helps. If there is a lot of dust, dirt & your marblelite pool is delaminating it just goes thru the light filters. Use the heavy filters, clean them after each cycle & eventually it picks everything up. I find mine takes 2 cycles to fully clean the pool

Ok thank you I will give that a go do you no why my water has gone Murthy

Hi Sarah. When a robot is missing parts of a pool, it is recommend to ensure that there is enough slack in the cable to reach the the furthest point of pool. It is also recommended to try starting the cycle at a different location as the Dolphin’s scanning pattern will take it in a different path every time. We also recommend a full water test for all chemistry levels to be checked and the pool balanced as required. There may also be build up present on the surfaces of the missed areas that may also be preventing the Dolphin from being able to efficiently clean them. For this, brush the surfaces down manually and the unit should then be able to maintain them on its own. The ultra-fine filters, of which appears as small folds, is best suited for finer debris such as dust. Swap to these filters and see as to whether this improves the robot's filtering ability. No not at all, I have done this few times. You just have to reset it once you start it up again.

The quick start guide says not to use an extension cable. Why is that?

Just a safety precaution I think, I don't see what harm it could do as long as the cord is not damaged in anyway.

Maytronics

Hi Dale. Extension cords are generally not recommended due to safety concerns of cables around water. In addition, over a long distance, there may be a drop in voltage to the power supply and in return, the robot may not start up correctly or hold power. Hi Lorena, I thought it be a great cleaner and it did a fair job but just put off warranty the battery died. I genuinely believe that batteries still have not become good enough to spend upto $3000 for a machine that hasnt got a longer live. To replace the battery it was about $1000. I could have bought a now electric old skimmer box cleaner 6 times and it would have been better value. I hope thats of some assistance

Ring Maytronics from their wensite your Melbourne branch is 25 Jarrah Drive, Braeside VIC 3195
Harry Phelan Vic Service & Sales Rep 0428 765 388 03 9587 6488 [email protected]
Maytronics Brisbane gave me the name of a pool guy who comes and changes rollers etc on my machine.
I have found nothing really wrong with this machine except some service guys are really expensive this pool guy isn't as opposed to where my pool shop told me to go for a repair. My M3 machine only cost $1200 so I don't what machine Lou is referring to. PS the M3 does not have a battery!

Am I required to rinse the entire dolphin in fresh water after removing it from the pool? I always wash the cartridge filters with water but am wondering about the unit itself.

Hi Chris,

Thank you for your email.

It is not required to rinse the Dolphin unit under fresh water once it has been removed from the pool. However, if you wish to rinse down the brushes, feel free to do so.

I have a dolphin M3. For 3 years it cleaned the whole large pool beautifully taking about 2 or 3 hours. However, lately it seems to just love the deep end. The shallow end gets a bit of a wipe here and there and then it just stays in the deep end. How can I encourage it to do the shallow end?

If it is still under warranty it would be worth taking it in for a service. Sorry that I can’t help you more

Have you had it serviced regularly? Three years old is definately out of warranty period. When mine was just doing one side of the pool I put the light "spring" filters in the ones you can see through. Otherwise the mechanism that makes it turn etc could not be working. It pays to have it serviced as my review said. Give Dolphin a ring they are usually helpfull on the phone adn can tell you your nearest service guy and soe of them come to you. Where are you located - if it is in Brisbane Qld I know a good guys that will come to you and service for a cheap (compared to others) fee. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Hi Sylvia,

Thank you for your message.

When a robot stays in one part or one a side of a pool it could be due to a couple of different reasons. Here are a few things to try:

- Ensure that the cable is not tangled or kinked and that unit has enough slack in the cable to reach the entire pool.
- Try starting the cycle at a different location. The Dolphin’s scanning pattern will take it in a different path every time.
- Ensure that there is no build up (such as algae) on the surfaces of the missed areas as this might be preventing the Dolphin from being able to efficiently clean them. Try brushing them down manually, and the unit should then be able to maintain them on its own.

I’ve just seen this model advertised new in the U.K. for £500 on eBay ? Just wondering if this is a good purchase price or is it abit out of date now and should I go for a later model ? I’m English but living in France and it’s hard to find the correct information here.

I am in Australia and paid $1,200 AUD for it in April 2015 and it was new then, it is the base model of all their cleaners. I do not think Maytronics (have a look at their Aussie and USA websites) have a new base model yet, if it is new it will be still OK to buy it now. Then look at the AUD to UK pound to french currency conversion rates adn see if it works out the same. Good luck!

Buy the newer model - it’s much better and easier to empty

Hi, we recommend talking with Maytronics France, they sell the same M series range we offer here in Australia. You can get in touch on their website and find your closest stockist. Link is www.maytronics.fr . The M3 is a floor only model, there are other models that also do the wall and waterline.

Hi Enzo, please call us at Maytronics on 1300 693 657, we can help troubleshoot and give you the best advice. The suction should not go bad and we can help understand what is going on.

Roddles

Keeping the filters clean and washed out after every use has been what we do and there has been no reduction in suction and cleaning in the last two years. Lots of leaves are a problem and you should remove them as much as possible before using the Dolphin. Besides that it is a briliant machine for our pool.

Best to ring Maytronics really. But it could be the tracks are worn or the hole in the top is blocked, depends on how old it is and if you have it regularly serviced.

Hi I have a Dolphin M3 and it is great. However recently it is taking a while - at least 10mins to turn on. The Test/Reset switch works ok. The issue is with the button on the Power board, which takes a while before it lights up blue and begins working - can you please help? Steve

Maytronics A.Maytronics

Hi Steve,
A suggestion to try from out Tech Service department.
1. Unplug the cleaner's cable from the power supply, then turn on the power supply. It should not take 10mins and turn on straight away. If this does turn on immediately, there maybe a problem with the cable.

If it still takes a while to turn on, you may need your power supply looked at by an authorised service agent (the pool shop you bought the cleaner from). They will be able to put it on an analyser to check for faults. Finally, you can always call our national support line on 1300 693 657 if you need to be connected to your local service agent.

Hope this helps.
