Always wanted to own a Mazda
My retirement present, my first ever brand new car. A Mazda 3, SP 25 silver hatch. A great looking car with sleek lines and modern sporty feel. We live in a regional area 2 hours from any city and travel a lot, the car was comfortable and had plenty of power for overtaking those log trucks etc. We did find that the body panels on the Mazda were quite thin and if you leaned on the side of the car or bonnet they would flex inwards easily. We had all the regular services done at the correct, recommended time and were surprised that the car st...Read more
arted to use a bit of oil after the first couple of services. When asking about this we were told repeatedly that it could be expected, sorry I don't expect a brand new car to use oil. The tyres supplied with the car were not so good on the open road however after we replaced them with new tyres the car held the road a lot better. The accessories were good, great sound system/radio etc, Navigational System okay but not entirely up to date however this may be the fault of the road limits always changing on Tasmanian roads due to a large amount of road work being undertaken. Good heater and air-con, seat comfort could be better. Economy really good especially on the open road and lots of info for comparing and checking stats. After sales service for the Mazda through the dealer Sales Team was a bit lack lustre however the actual Service Department always delivered on time. All in all we feel that the Mazda was okay but not as good as we had imagined it would be. We traded after 2 years.Purchased in May 2021 at Mazda Dealers.

Great drivers cars, Nice and room for a "small car"
I upgraded from a v6 380 (discontinued) to the SP25 Mazda 3. I'm really happy.
Driving feel is excellent, Hold the corners ad the 2.5l engine had a lot of kick. Mod cons are great with auto everything. Flappy paddle gear box is fun for some manual shifting on the windy roads or a for gearing down.
Economy is pretty good, 8L/100km for my normal driving, 10l/100k if I am pushing it or turning on sports mode. Much better than the 15l/100km in my 380.
Only 2 complains:
1. The wife wishes there was a permanent on off switch for the stop/start system, not on that resets when the car is turned off.
2 It is missing Android auto.

Mid Range Commuter
I bought an SP25 with extras which included a rubber boot for the boot space, aluminium pedals, keyless access and SP25 floor mats. I should have also got the front sensors which I regret. Still less than 30000 kms on mine as I write this.
PROS
Reversing camera is the best thing since swiss cheese.
The sports mode gives you better traction and handles better but is a bit noisier than standard mode.
Keyless access is great as someone tried breaking into my car by sticking a screw driver into the lock.
When the key is not near the car (wit...Read more

Mazda 3 BN
owned a Mazda back in the 80's . Loved it. Now with the opportunity to buy another new car I knew exactly what I wanted. Mazda 3 MAXX. It is like coming home. Perfect in every way. My only wish is that Mazda would introduce capped servicing and services were not schedule every 10K. Surely with today's technology it should be between 15-20k.

Mazda SP25 - Great car with Terrible Sat nav
This car is a great for getting from A to B. The Skyactive technology is the best thing about this car. It allows the car to be fuel efficient without compromising power ($50-$60 aud fuel can get me 650-700km at our current fuel price of $1.40 per litre).
The only downside is the satellite navigation. I am having issues with the Satnav resetting itself. It is quite frustrating...especially when i am relying on the GPS.

Great product, just what I wanted
Only brand new, loved the whole experience of buying a new car. My previous vehicle was a Mazda 3, hard to get away from them once you have owned one. This car is very economical and smooth to drive. The toggle button located on the console is very easy to use. Very handy the keyless entry and push button start. Great range of colours to choose from that look very stylish. Definitely would recommend this car to anyone looking.

2016 SP25 Overall Very Happy
Looks great, spacious, enough grunt for a hatch.
Reasonably economical, noticeable tyre noise but expected after last car was a Honda Euro.
i-stop is a bit annoying and shuts off occasionally when not car has not totally stopped causing it to stall. Can turn it off but have to do it every time you get in which is annoying. Would like to permanently disconnect it but Mazda won't.
Also lumbar support not adequate for long trips. Given SP25 is not base model it should have come with adjustable lumbar support.
Key is very flimsy and breaks eas...Read more

Perfect sized car for daily driving
When I was researching cars for my first car, I instantly gravitated towards the Mazda 3. It’s considered a small car but it’s a little larger than other cars in this category and the internal space of the car is great. There’s good leg room in the back where three of my friends can comfortably fit.
I was aware of the louder cabin noise others have highlighted and I do agree it does have a louder cabin noise compared to other cars, but this doesn’t bother me to the point where I find it’s s signoficant negative.
The fuel efficiency is w...Read more
hat I’ve found one of the best features of this car. I mainly drive shorter distances and city driving and I find a full tank lasts three weeks and my current average is 7.5L per 100/km. Overall it has been a great first car so far and I’ve been happy with it ever since owning it!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Meets expectations
Researched cars for 3 months as l was living in Bali and waiting to relocate my family at xmas. I had plenty of free time to do this so also researched car dealers. Wow there are some realy dodgy dealerships, l expect it from used but new cars are no different. I’m so glad l went with my instincts and listened to Australia whirlpool forums, there are alot of good cars out there, what l wanted was a good reliable motor and gearbox, wasn’t realy fussed with bells and whistles.l wanted a car that was reliable, fun, inexpensive, practical and ni...Read more
ce looking. What l came up with was mazda 3 sp25 manual. I picked manual as l like to drive a car totally, work wise lm 7 minutes, so l like to have some fun in free time surfing and drive my car ( plus baby and wife ) l considered the Hyundai i30 sr but as l wanted a car for at least 10-15 years the turbo turned me off, l dont need it and don’t want to pay out after possibly 100,000 klms or less, l had a bit of a laugh when people refuse to buy a car because it hasn’t got apple auto lol ? What do you want a car or a computer omg, l will take a proven reliable car over a 7 year warranty ( good luck with your claim ) anyday, bells and whistles are standard features these days. I wanted a car not a swiss army watch so l chose sp25 which is such a great car and has all the bells and whistles you need, thank you mazdaSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

LOVELY
We have a hatch Sp-25 and it drives great, easy controls great additional functions for safer driving... Having a family of 6 it's a great car. Prefer the sedan shape but for practicality the hatch is better. My parent's are middle aged and dad is very much FOR practicality over looks.
Recommend this car highly (SO FAR), no complications as yet.

Great car!
Great car! One of the best looking small/medium cars in the market now. The car has good power and is very fuel efficient for the size of the engine. My only issues are that I find the istop function annoying because the starting of the engine after it is cut once you stop is very noticeable. I also find the cabin noise a little loud compared to other cars.

Great all rounder
Picked the Mazda 3 over the Corolla, Civic and i30.
Drive is amazing but the sound insulation is rather poor as I can hear the engine clearly. Interior is amazing with sufficient legroom. Passenger seat is slightly awkward but comfortable nonetheless. Fuel efficiency is aided by the i-stop which takes time to get accustomed to.

Love my car
6 speed manual drives smoothly and nicely on the road. Goes well on the freeways and accelerates without trouble.
Interior very comfortable; seats mould nicely to my back support. All controls are easily within reach.
Noisy on certain road surfaces meaning I cannot hear music properly.
Does have a rough idle issue which I am going to discuss at next service.
Love my mazda3!
