Adore this car! Heavenly to drive
We have a long commute each morning and afternoon, and wanted a car that would be fuel-efficient, very comfortable, spacious throughout, enjoyable to drive, and wouldn’t cost a fortune. We could not be happier with our purchase! It has everything we need and more. We’re very impressed with how they’ve designed it to have plenty of space in the front and the back (and the trunk), even though it’s only considered a mid sized car.
Once we’d decided on a Mazda 3, we still were undecided whether to get a Maxx, Maxx sport, Touring or SP25 but purc...Read more
hased this car (SP25) as it had all the features we were after and was in run out so we got a fantastic price for a brand new 2022 model. If we were making the decision to buy a car all over again we would definitely buy this exact vehicle. We’ve previously owned a 2007 Mazda 3 Maxx, which was super reliable and never let us down even though we had nearly 240,000 km on it. If this car lasts that long again and continues running as beautifully as it has been, we’ll be buying Mazda for the rest of our lives. The interior feels sleek and modern, the safety and warning features are exactly as we expect, the built in entertainment/navigation system has everything we need and connects perfectly to our phones every time without having to push any buttons. Using our phones for hands-free calls, receiving texts, or listening to music on Spotify is super easy. With newer features like pushbutton start, keyless entry, electronic parking brake, and i–stop, I’d been a little concerned about upgrading from our old car and having to deal with ‘unnecessary’ technology, but now I’d never look back.Purchased in July 2021.

What a machine!!
Automatic were not an option in the country I grew up. Learnt a manual or stick shift, drove them for good few years and absolutely loved the feeling. Coming to oz and seeing the convenience of automatic decided to get a used lancer sx, hang on I'm getting to the 3, drove it for a year and hated it. Not so much the car itself but CVT. It just felt bland and unexciting. Decided to trade it in for a new 3, boy did I make the second best decision in my life ( first being asking my wife to marry me, she reads this stuff). Main reason to buy was t...Read more
he transmission. Awesome: Lets talk engine. This has to be one of the finest engines. I've driven an imprezza, i30, corolla but imo 3 has one of the most refined engines. Transmission, all manual drivers can relate to the way the transmission feels when you get off the line. The gear shift is seamless. Handling, good Lord this car can take a corner. The G vectoring or whatever the heck they call it when the tail sort of tells you, yeah mate good going I've got your back, is amazing. Sport mode, in the Twisties, best fun you can imagine. Power, trust me you won't have problems getting off the line with the 2.5lt engine. Unless your stopped next to a SS. But it's an unfair comparison.Purchased in March 2021 at Mazda Dealers for $28,000.00.

Transmission failure at 3,000kms!!
I purchased a brand new 2022 Mazda 3 BN SP25 on the 8th of March 2022 from my local Mazda dealer. The car drove fine for the first 2 months (as you would expect from a brand new car).
On the 21st of May I started up my car and gave it 5 minutes to warm up, as I usually do every morning. As I was exiting my street and turned onto the main road, I noticed that the vehicle was not changing from first gear to second gear (automatic transmission). The car was revving up to high rpms and refused to changed gear. I somehow managed to drive the car up...Read more
the hill on the main road and turned into a nearby residential street. I immediately turned off the vehicle and waited a few minutes before starting the car again. I proceeded to drive back to my residence and I noticed that the vehicle refused to change gears again and the car was lacking power. I managed to drive my car up the hill again with the hazard lights on and managed to park the car on my nature strip. I changed the gear to reverse to adjust the car on the nature strip and I noticed the car wouldn’t reverse either ... I left the car at home and took my weekend vehicle to work. I had to ask my father to stay back from work, to have the vehicle investigated. My father called the Mazda dealer we purchased the vehicle from and the dealer organised to have the vehicle towed. However, the dealer advised us that they wouldn’t be able to inspect the car for a few days as they were full booked out. The vehicle was towed on the same day the incident occurred (Tuesday 21st May 2022). The dealer advised that they will be contacting Mazda Australia immediately to organise a courtesy vehicle. I didn’t receive a call from Mazda Australia on Tuesday, so I decided to call both the dealer and Mazda Australia on Wednesday. The dealer advised that they spoke to someone from Mazda Australia on Tuesday and that Mazda Australia has advised that someone would be contacting me on the same day. The dealer advised that they will be following up with Mazda Australia again. I decided to call Mazda Australia myself and the customer service representative advised that my case manager was busy, so she would return my call. I didn’t receive a call back from Mazda Australia on Wednesday either. On Thursday I called Mazda Australia again and once again the customer service representative advised that the car manager was busy and my call would be returned. I also called my local dealer and the dealer advised that the car has been diagnosed with a failed transmission ... I was beyond shock that a transmission on 2 month old car had failed (the car had only travelled 3,000kms at this point). The dealer advised that a transmission had been ordered and it would take about a week to arrive from Melbourne.Purchased in March 2021 at Penrith Mazda.

When is a warning not a warning?
March 2018 Model SP25 Astina randomly displays warnings lights for 1 - 30 minutes while driving. 3 visits for repairs and they couldn't locate any fault (and had never heard of the issue) the first two times. Luckily I have taken pictures each time. Third time they found the problem and replaced the camera. Two days after the 'fix' the same issue happens. They still do not know what is wrong. Now that I am trying to enforced my rights under consumer protection I have been hand balled to Mazda Australia.

Love driving this car!
Bought this Mazda Touring brand new! Great to drive and exceptional fuel economy. We are both retired so only around the area driving so far and so far so good. Love the gadgets inside and the rear reversing camera took a while to get use to but now it's all second nature. Not so sure about easily fitting 5 people, only if they are small or very thin. 4 nice and comfy. Great Boot size. The one problem that I have found from going down from an Xtrail to a small sedan is that I can't see the front and adjusting to turn and to stop. I have scratched to right and left bottom guard a few times.

Great Car But mazda Engineers need to drive one on sydney roads
For the price of the car it is excellant. All of the features of a bmw or merc. The only downside to the car is still ecsessive tyre noise even on smoother roads. Not a deal breaker but for a major automotive company not as good as it should be considering it is trying to get a bigger market share.I dont expect a dead silent car, but a slight droning on smooth roads is not acceptable. Is it the Tyres?

Love it
I owned a Mazda back in the 80's . Loved it. Now with the opportunity to buy another new car I knew exactly what I wanted. Mazda 3 MAXX. It is like coming home. Perfect in every way. My only wish is that Mazda would introduce capped servicing and services were not schedule every 10K. Surely with today's technology it should be between 15-20k.

Better than most medium cars out there but a lot of small problems and transmission doesn't shift smoothly
Review Updated:
Have done over 14,000 Kms on it now (my initial review was 4 stars now down to 3 mainly due to auto transmission not shifting smoothly) - I was a Hyundai i30 (2010) owner prior but comparing the new i30 to the mazda 3 I fell in love instantly with the Mazda for its superior seat comfort, ride and handling. The 2.5L engine was a must for me as I found the 2.0L so sluggish, however this is true on most modern cars due to the strict emission regulations and the endless pursuit of fuel economy (But still better than the i30 2.0L eq...Read more
uivalent). Pros: Their engines are state of the art and I i like the normal atmo/non-turbo engines so that was a plus for me. Also a plus the car can uses 91RON fuel (compared to most small turbo engine these days that require 95RON) even though there is some misfiring when the car is cold that gets better when the car warms up. Ride handling and vehicle dynamics are some of the best in class and the SP25 2018 is the last Mazda 3 that comes with the independent rear suspension that adds to the ride quality.Purchased in June 2021.

Good choice
I have driven this car now for 12 months and have had it serviced once in this time I have been able to become very confident of the reliably and the servicing that Penfold Motors Burwood have shown. I have owned many cars in my 54 years of driving and had quite a few ordinary ones and must say this experience so far has been one of the best. I would recommend Burwood Mazda to my friends and family any time.

A good small car for drivers.
If you're after a smallish car with great handling, a punchy non-turbo engine, a semi-luxury interior, good equipment levels, great looks and good customer service from the dealer, this is pretty much your best bet. Not the best car for back seat passengers and the boot is not the biggest in its class.

Great car to drive
This car is a fantastic car to drive! I love getting behind the wheel and I make any excuse to. The car is very smooth to drive, quick to go from naught to whatever speed limit it is. The seats are very comfortable as well. I love the feel of the wheel. Its great to be able to just jump into the car without pulling the keys out. The running costs are great, at $1.29 for 91 unleaded with 3 bars left in the tank, only cost just under $50 to go full tank! The fuel lasts a lot longer than the precious car we owned. The car is an extremely reliable car basically a dream to drive. Highly recommend buying this car.

Fast, little zippy car!
We purchased a brand new Mazda last year and it's been my favourite car by far. It's zippy, quick and very nice to drive. Downfall would be the seats are a little narrower than our Toyota. Boot is small too. Couldn't get the Leather option in the Maxx which was disappointing. Otherwise, I love it!

Great bang for your buck
Performance wise, the handling feels tight, very responsive - some might feel like the steering doesn't feel nice to drive in comparison to luxury cars but you get what you pay for. Not too noisy and the 2.5L is definitely recommended if you travel a bit more than the average person due to it being easier to overtake on highways, etc
Interior is average but for the price it does feel like you get a bit more for what you pay for. It's comfortable for 4 average sized people and the fuel economy is good for a 2.5L engine.

Great family CAR
Nice Family Car for small and medium sized families. Fulfills basic city needs. Decent interiors and comfortable seating. The touch screen hangs at time and is not to standards of other parts. Car's performance and fuel consumption are decent. Though on hilly terrains performance is not that great, Speaker and music systems are good

Mazda 3 Maxx Sedan Zoom Zoom
Mazda Car is the best car on the market. You can get all the latest smart features, new technologies and best performance in this car which normally you can find only in the very expensive car models from BMW, AUDI etc.
Very smooth driving, no noise, good performance and very stylish interior & exterior also. Yearly once servicing required.

An awesome car
The Mazda 3 SP25 GT has many refined features from previous models, the car has a powerful engine, about a 130 kilowatt powered engine. The Bose speakers are a sensation for the music fanatics and the aircon is amazing, climate control with a strong gust of cool air. Heated seats are great use for winter, other features include istop, built in voice control, navigation and analytics from the car itself.

Amazing car
Wow. The Mazda 3 Maxx is an excellent all round performance and value. Mainly the car is the cheapest on the market, and the quality in my opinion tops everything else. The sleek 'Kodi' looks suit the cars sporty style and handling. No excessive road noise. The running costs are minimal and the istop engine reduces full consumption
