Feels sturdy and safe and a breeze to drive
I recently purchased a 2015 CX-5 Akera AWD and am loving it so far. It feels safe, sturdy and is very smooth and nice to drive. I thought it would feel too big since I'm used to sedans, but it really doesn't and I can still see a lot. It has loads of features I wasn't fussed about, but now driving it, I actually really like the parking sensors and camera, as well as the blind spot monitoring. I have an old narrow blue stone alleyway to enter through to my apartment carpark and it's acrobatic at the best of times to get in and out, so with a lar...Read more
ger car than before, the sensors have been much appreciated. I hope the powered electrics last a long time, as I have always been wary of everything being powered and not manual due to the inability to use a window for instance if the power goes, but it is very convenient and Mazda have a good history.Purchased in January 2021 for $28,496.00.

Looks nice but impractical
Looks nice drives like a dream but the centre console is like half a metre wide and highly inconvenient. Please make a slime line in future models, please and thankyou.
Purchased in January 2021 for $1,500.00.

Reliable comfortable car
A great family car drove up from Victoria to Queensland effortlessly. Servicing very reasonably priced compared to the Q5 it replaced. Great handling, plenty of room for a family of 4.

Stylish, Safe and the Best Red Car on the Market
We are just your average couple, we drive our Mazda nearly very day in and around our town and a couple of times a month longer drives to Melbourne and Geelong. We had a Mazda3 sports hatch and clocked up 117,000 and not a blip or problem so when it was time to move on and up grade it was a simple choice of another Mazda, though we did try out other makes we kept coming back to the Mazda. We had and issue with one of the headlights which was replaced by the service centre at no cost to us and the car had finished its warranty period. I love my ...Read more
Mazda, it's red, its stylish and has heated seats. What more could you want! Ahhh safety.... yep it has everything to help keep you as safe on the roads as possible. I encourage anyone who is in the market for a car to take a Mazda out and give it a go. You won't be disappointed. I wasn't.Purchased in April 2021.

Great Reliable Car
I have just completed four years of ownership of my Mazda CX-5 (and still going) and completed nearly 60,000 km. It is the 2.5 l petrol engine GT. In that time, I have had no mechanical issues with the car - starts first time, every time. It is great in the city and on the highway. Paint and interior still look as new. Servicing costs have always been reasonable through the Mazda dealer.
The only issues in that time were:
1. The battery was just replaced after 4 years - the first indication was that the i-stop function stopped working. This is...Read more

Fantastic safety features
Used every day about 70-80 k a day. Truly an Suv which is hard to beat for safety features and at the same time great looks all around. Servicing is capped for 3 years and is reasonable priced. One irritation is its very occasional habit of not restarting immediately when engaging gear at traffic lights whilst in skyactiv mode. But otherwise a great car.

Amazing!
I purchased a second hand 2015 model this year and I’m in love! In my opinion, it’s the perfect size - heaps of room for passengers and heaps of boot space without being too big that it’s hard to park. Really comfortable to drive, really quiet and reaaaaally cheap to run. I previously had a corolla and they’re close to each other with fuel consumption. I would 100% recommend this!

This car is perfect for my needs as a young busy working mum.
It drives quietly and safely.
my only complaint about the interior is the push button is on the left which is not convenient when you have bags to scoop up from the passenger seat but other than that it fits myself, the shopping and the kids in it very comfortably.
The kids love that they can attach their music via bluetooth too.
I have always been a Mazda owner and this car has been no exception to their reliability and comfort - as well as looking very snazy!
Fuel is quite economical also as it is E10 compatible.

Worst Servicing Issues Non Resolved
Purchased Brand New CX-5 2016 Maxx Sport from Mount Gravatt Mazda - from day 1 vehicle generated a noise while reversing and turning left. Notified Mazda immediately by phone and told they will look at it in first service. First service, we could not fault. Second Service during road test, noise was duplicated - returned vehicle advised done all they could - drove out, went back to work reverse park and noise still present. Told Mazda and said to come back in, have done few services and still no resolve. Most recent service - I dealt with ...Read more
the Service Manager - they faulted the noise again - was told that they checked everything. Service Manager went on to explain that this noise was completely normal on all their models - I asked to test drive other cars to replicate noise - we drove in a Mazda 3 - could not duplicate the noise after 10 mins of trying (Service Manager driving). I asked to try other CX-5 however was told they had none? although this is a dealership? Was then told by the Service Manager that he would organise a technician from Mazda head office - this will reassure me that this noise is completely normal. I asked for this in writing to give me comfort that if this fault eventuates into something worse after warranty that this will still be covered, I was refused and told he could not do that. The vehicle after more than 2 years, still continues to make the noise. I have provided videos, I have done numerous driving sessions with the mechanic. The most disappointing thing out of all this is the lack of care for their customers post purchase. I never received a call from anyone from head office in relation to organising a drive with any technician. Appalling service - safe to say I will never purchase a Mazda again nor will I purchase anything from Upper Mount Gravatt.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

They are such great cars and we have never had any issues with the,. servicing and upkeep is affordable and easy. We loved the CX-5 as it was a lot bigger internally than other brands of a similar "size" - the boot is super roomy and great for when ewe go camping.

Worst after sales service, your better off buying a second hand car
Usually giving good feedback is my forte. Unfortunately that’s not the case for my review today. Madza have no idea how to come to any resolution at all. After years of having my car come up with the the same errors. Leaving me unable to drive my car. I was directed to the head office of madza to resolve these problems. To begin with the staff were kind. Took weeks to get back to me, but were kind. After they asked me on countless occasions what I wanted as the best outcome they could not offer me. I graciously accepted this, as it was best cas...Read more
e scenario for me and tried to move on with another outcome. My case manager then continuously spun tails, and when finally coming to a decision- not what I asked for at all, instead, kept going back to the my first best case scenario. Months later my second request is still not being heard. Instead they make their own outcomes and not listening to me at all. I’m a kind person- but madza has without a doubt made me a most bitter and untrusting person. This issue is still not resolved, and I have no faith left that madza will be able to help me at all. If I wanted no after sales service I would have bought a second hand car. Which I wish I had of done now. If your looking for after sales service- keep looking, as madza is not the company that will help you. If I could give a 0 score, it would be a 0. 1 of 5 is being too kind.Similar opinion? Beware of genuine hidden tow hitch. Space saver spare.
Purchased new and asked for advice on towbar to tow a camper. Told by salesman that a non genuine hitch could effect warranty if I have any issues. They advised and finally fitted a very discreet genuine Mazda tow hitch which cannot be seen from behind the vehicle. It cost me the several hundred dollars all up. Problem arises when i have to lie down on my back on the ground in order to see how to install the vertical connecting tube and fit and secure a 16mm pin in a hole. I then have to repeat this process when i hook up my camper to attach an...Read more
d detach the safety chains. It also came with a portable wiring harness which hangs out the back door. I do not have the flexibility of a young person, or gymnast. What on earth was Mazda thinking when they came up with this stupid impractical design? I now have to replace the tow bar with a non-genuine article which I can at least access .... at my own cost. It is about as smart as putting the vehicle jack and accessories at the front of the rear space saver wheel well ... just to make sure you have to get everything out of the back of the vehicle in order to retrieve it. How to ruin an otherwise lovely car experience.1 comment

Perfect family SUV
The Mazda CX-5 is the perfect mix of style and functionality. I upgraded from a Subaru RX after I had my second child, and haven’t looked back. The safety features give me piece of mind when I’m driving on long, country roads, in freeway traffic and parking in tight spots.
I’m not a tall person, and this was the only SUV I tried where I didn’t feel overwhelmed by the size. Despite the feeling of a smaller SUV, it is quite big inside, with plenty of room for the family. The boot is an excellent size, and something that’s often overlooked in sm...Read more

Great car great value
We wanted sat nav and blindspot detection in an SUV but not needing a premium version. Mazda was the only make that we can add-on these features, allowing us to get these and not paying too much. Car is well built and ride is pretty good. Love the red colour too!

Well-rounded car
Car is a great performer and the Sports mode helps during long distance country driving. Engine noise is quiet and the interior is spacious, for the driver and passengers. The touch-screen navigation system in the center console is very useful and easy to update, you can do it yourself online. The features are great for the price

Good and reliable car with less fuel consumption
Advantages:
- Drives smooth and acceleration is prompt
- Approx. 8.0L/100km fuel consumption with combined traffic which is quite efficient.
- Reliable car, never had any issues for more than 2 years.
Disadvantages:
- The legroom is not that spacious but moderate.
- No auto-lock while driving and no auto-lift for boot
- I-stop can't set to stop by default
- The maintenance/service fee is quite expensive compare to some other brands.

i bloody love it
Whilst every fortnight when I have to pay for it, I struggle every now and then that is the ONLY downside to this car. I love how it drives, how safe I feel, the gadgets and setup in the car. The navigation system is amazing and updates with real time delays. Id like to be able to have more than one phone connected via bluetooth at a time but I can live without it.
Highly reccommend it to anyone wanting a fantastic SUV.

Best car ive ever owned
The cx5 is a great car. We compared it to the wagon Kia, Hyundai, honda and toyota makes and the design comfort and technology of the cx5 trumped them all.
Its a big suv wagon but feels like your driving a sedan. The reverse camera and rear design makes it easy to reverse.
Downside is that the rear seats aren't too comfortable and the middle seat is really for show. Theres not too much leg room and the basic cx5 does not have rear ac.
The seats do fold down and you can fit a washing machine and ikea furniture in the back.

AKERA is the best!
My husband and I purchased this car and we just love it. Mazda has always been sleek with their design, simple yet sophisticated. And I loveeee the AC as it's so cold (I easily sweat -_-"). Can't fault anything on this car, a little bit expensive, but you get what you pay for. Mazda CX-5 AKERA is definitely worth the money. From their automatic adjustable cruise control, auto brake, blind spot sensors on both rear mirrors, lane assist, all is wonderful.

Ask the dealer- look at the ID plate along with VIN number on the vehicle in the showroom. Make sure you clearly indicate in writing, eg annotate in the marg8n I& need be on any sales contracts that accepting delivery will be contingent on manufacture being in a certain place. Mine made in Japan.

What kind of fuel economy are you getting from a 2.5 petrol? I'm looking at picking up a 2015-16 GT and in the research phase now - just want to get an idea of the 'real world' economy rather than the sticker claims which are conducted in a lab.

I did a trip to Wagga on the weekend and achieved 8 litres per 100 km for a trip total of 1900 kms which was very nice to see, when I fill the vehicle (I only use 98 octane) the range shows up as 717 km. KF 9/17 AWD model Sports.
In city fuel economy is pathetic. It's like the car's always on the 1st n 2nd gear. :(

2 hours min. The 2.5 petrol engine towed an 1100kg camper well, easily maintaining 100 kph up inclines (auto dropped back a cog on steeper rises) and averaged around 13.5 l / 100ks at the pump. On board computer was way out - stating around 9 to 10 l / 100ks. At one stage we theoretically ran out of fuel (computer said 0 range) but the tank only took 53 litres where the handbook states a capacity of 56 litres or 58 litres ... not sure which this is, indicating another possible 20 to 50 ks were possible.
