Ask the dealer- look at the ID plate along with VIN number on the vehicle in the showroom. Make sure you clearly indicate in writing, eg annotate in the marg8n I& need be on any sales contracts that accepting delivery will be contingent on manufacture being in a certain place. Mine made in Japan.

What kind of fuel economy are you getting from a 2.5 petrol? I'm looking at picking up a 2015-16 GT and in the research phase now - just want to get an idea of the 'real world' economy rather than the sticker claims which are conducted in a lab.

I did a trip to Wagga on the weekend and achieved 8 litres per 100 km for a trip total of 1900 kms which was very nice to see, when I fill the vehicle (I only use 98 octane) the range shows up as 717 km. KF 9/17 AWD model Sports.

In city fuel economy is pathetic. It's like the car's always on the 1st n 2nd gear. :(

Does anyone find the Mazda CX-5 gear box strains to change from one gear to another? I am thinking of taking it back to get checked, it labours as I try to speed up then jerks in gear. It is an automatic. Very disappointing.

My CX5 is silky smooth and will change easily whenever the need arises; I would take yours to a dealer for correction.

Thanks for your reply. I will return the mazda for a check up. I have had the car over a year now. I am not happy with the transmission at all. My CX-5 is a Max Sport.

Thank you Dani for the answer ! The reason I rise the the question is that Mazda has several assembly plant in Japan, China, Thailand and Mexico. Frankly speaking the quality from different site may varies.

Does any one else's cx5 with the leather interior smell really badly? From day one it had a 'new car' smell that smells like some sort of chemical maybe glue... I air my car every day have owned it for 2 months now and still it's as strong as day 1. Was told it was just the new car smell but it's driving me Insaine! None of the other new cars I have purchased before have ever smelt like this. When we picked it up it had glue marks on the back seats which were removed. And yes I have heaps of air fresheners in the car to mask the smell and no the smell isn't me or my hubby lol

All I could suggest Crystal is that you put a bag of zeolite or activated carbon, or even baking soda in the car to absorb the smell. Masking won't work by adding some other chemical. You need to remove it, so hopefully the 3 options I've given you might help.

Hi all, quick question about the fuel efficiency with istop in diesel. I can keep my fuel consumption down and monitor all the time, usually around 6.5-7L/100km around city and peak hour traffic and 5.5-6L/100km on highway, sometimes though the car will run a bit rougher and the engine is not ready for istop to be active and the fuel consumption will just about double, it will drive like this for up to 50km before istop can be activated. Also this is happening on both city and highway trips and randomly. The car is less than 6 months old and just done 22,000km. At last service the dealer said they could find nothing wrong. Has anyone else noticed issues with fuel efficiency with the istop not working (not affected when aircon is too high)?

Lenny, if driven for short trips regularly, the Diesel Particulate Filter will clog up causing the vehicle to go into a 'burn' cycle which will use approx. 9l/100km for 50km or so until filter has been burned clean. My friend's Mazda 6 diesel does this and it annoys the hell out of him but that was Mazda's explanation. Try driving it a bit harder, the diesel won't punish you like a petrol would.

Thanks for that, will keep monitoring as there is not a lot of small trips with the kms I'm travelling.

Short answer jojo, don't know as it's a different model to the one I have. I used Auto genie to get my best price. For $50 they contact up to 3 different dealers for a price that meets your specification. The dealer then gives his best on the road price, you don't have to negotiate anything with them, if they want your business they know the price has to be as low as they can get. I took the cheapest price to my local Mazda dealer who reluctantly matched it. Highly recommend this hassle free way of purchasing a new vehicle. Regards.

I also bought a difference model - the Akera which was much more. Think I paid too much. Anyway, given the window tinting, cargo mat and the extra warranty comes to about $2K, sounds like an OK deal for the CX Maxx Sport, assuming it includes on-road costs.

Should I buy the GT or the Akera?

Hi Nightlife. To be honest, they are too costly to me. I only bought the Maxx model and asked them to throw in free reverse sensor, tow bar, alloys and premium mats and that was about it. Also i bought a 2014 model. GT or Akera is just luxury and if you can afford it, its really up to you. Akera and GT obviously has extra safety packages. Hope this helps.
