Great little AWD
Great on fuel as we got the diesel and still has plenty of go and no lag. Handles like a small car. Comfy interior and user friendly sat nav. Plenty of boot room. Only complaint but would not stop me from buying another is the location of the push button to start car.

We Love Our Mazda
There isn't a bad thing we can say about our new car. It drives amazing. The space inside the car is great. We are getting over 500 our of a tank! Lots of little features that others didn't have! One that will be in the family for a long time. Thank you Mazda for your perfect services.

Very good, but not perfect
This is a update review as I have had the CX5 Akera for about 7months and have travelled 7,500 Kms. Due to my wife leaving the vehicle in drive overnight, the battery run flat. I called out the RAC who got the car going, it was only after they left that I realised the electronic park brake would not release. It needs battery power to do this, and because there was not enough power there, it stayed on until the engine produced enough to release it. I now know what to expect. The only thing I don't like is the reflection of the chrome air outlets in the side mirrors, quite annoying. Other than that it's great, it's a diesel and the consumption has dropped to 7.1 litres per 100 Kms, but I don't drive like I've just stolen it.

Obsessed With My GT.
I bought the 2015 GT model 6 months ago. This is the 3rd Mazda I've owned and have not had an issue with any of them.
I am about to start a family and upgraded from my Mazda 3. The size is perfect. An SUV that has spacious interiors and cargo spaces but drives and parks like a zippy sedan. There is great visibility when parking with aid of the reverse camera and mirrors. I do both city driving and highways driving overtaking trucks on two lane highways and never feel nervous crossing oncoming lane to pass. The car has plenty of grunt when need...Read more

Good Family SUV For Around Town
After 12 years in another SUV, I'm getting used to the larger feel of this vehicle and all the mod-cons it comes with. Haven't tried it out on a long haul yet, but seems to be pretty economical around town and lives up to the "zoom zoom" image. Comfortable interior (leather) and love the support for my phone with on-board speech rec which is a great safety feature. Wish there was a hybrid option in the range though.

Very nice car!
Had this car for a few months. Its performance and interior quality is very good which are 2 things i look for in a car. The engine istop is kind of annoying when you come to a full stop but i think you can switch it off?
Fuel usage is good in the diesel model i have. Happy with car.

Very Good Car
This is my first SUV. I have had it for about 5 months bought a Mazda CX 5 2015 Model. This is very spacious and comfortable in driving. The mazda connect is very efficient and also the GPS is very accurate. Love the reverse camera. The average is also very compared to other SUVs.
I would recommend anyone to purchase this family care.

Great SUV
This is my first SUV. I have had it for about 6 months + now and so far so good. Not sure about the great fuel consumption as they claim it is as my Toyota Corolla which is a 1.8 L seems to consume just as little fuel as my CX5.
However, I love the feel of how it drives and believe me, I've driven many cars in my time.
What I like is how the backseat has an arm rest in the middle which you can fold and unfold out.
The car however does not seem to have much power and my corolla seems to have more zip than the CX5 but that's just me. Some people suggested the AWD, I think they should too.
Insurance isn't too expensive. Love using my Tiptronic shift.
Overall, a great car. ...Read more
PRO: Decent Fuel Consumption. Good handling. Decent leg and trunk space (which is essential for me as I have 2 young kids) CONS: Lack Power. The trunk has a metal bar running across which limits the potential space that it can give for large items you buy from Ikea for example. Dislike the stop/start simply because you can use your power window if the car isn't running.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Wish I never bought it
At 12000 kliks it has been back to the dealer for a SatNav reboot(6500 kms), had the dash removed to replace the AC evaporator which had also caused I-stop to fail (9500) and will be back in next week as the passenger side carpets are swimming in water (source unknown). I traded a beautiful Mazda Tribute on this vehicle. The pleasure of owning a new car is lost to me.

Love the new CX-5
I recently picked up my new CX-5 (June 24th) Akera and I can't rave about it enough. I changed over from a 2012 Audi A4 1.8T model which had a lot of power, so I have had to change my driving style a little to adapt to the SUV but I don't miss the Audi. I love the higher riding position, and getting the Akera it's got all the bells and whistles the Audi had plus more. The auto high beam is amazing and works very well. The lane departure warning has taken some getting used to but more because of the way it helps the cornering especially when...Read more
travelling on a freeway, it's like it's almost driving around the corner itself. The MZD is great, the only thing bugging me at the moment is if I want it on Pandora I have to touch my phone to say "ALLOW" for the MZD to connect, so that defeats the purpose of not touching your phone whilst driving. But I'll see if there's a workaround when I take it into Mazda for it's first service. Getting 8.4ltr/100km so I'm pretty happy with that. The seating settings are great, there is no position you can't put yourself into, so if you can't find a comfortable driving position you haven't tried hard enough. No issues with the Sat Nav and I must say I do like that even if I have the MZD on display radio, it still tells me in the line above how far till I turn and onto what street. I don't have to have the NAV map on display for the directions to guide me. I did however turn all the voice warnings/commands off. They got a bit annoying when overriding the speaker from the radio. But all in all, I can't complain, I'm loving the CX-5 and happy with my decision to purchase.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Very happy with our purchase great to drive, great on fuel (7.6 per 100km average).
Had a couple of small issues with the navigation but [name removed] from NAR NAR GOON were extremely helpful in fixing the problem.

Thinking of buying a Mazda CX 5 MAXX, 2017 or 2018. How can I find out where these models have been assembled?

Ask the dealer- look at the ID plate along with VIN number on the vehicle in the showroom. Make sure you clearly indicate in writing, eg annotate in the marg8n I& need be on any sales contracts that accepting delivery will be contingent on manufacture being in a certain place. Mine made in Japan.

Hi, my 2016 Maxx sport is only getting just under 500kms per tank and I only pour premium unleaded. Does anyone have this problem and would Mazda fix this issue?

What kind of fuel economy are you getting from a 2.5 petrol? I'm looking at picking up a 2015-16 GT and in the research phase now - just want to get an idea of the 'real world' economy rather than the sticker claims which are conducted in a lab.

I did a trip to Wagga on the weekend and achieved 8 litres per 100 km for a trip total of 1900 kms which was very nice to see, when I fill the vehicle (I only use 98 octane) the range shows up as 717 km. KF 9/17 AWD model Sports.
In city fuel economy is pathetic. It's like the car's always on the 1st n 2nd gear. :(
