Fantastic car, navigation system is poor
I have now owned my Mazda CX-5 touring Diesel for over 2 years now. It is a fantastic car, comfortable seats, great fuel economy about 7 liters per hundred KM including city driving. Have taken this on long trips. The care handles really well and has plenty of power going up hills. Boot space is good and I can easily put the seats down for more space.
Only thing negative is the navigation system. No touch screen, not at all intuitive, voice recognition is limited, and the tutorial is next to useless. I find I am now using google on my m...Read more
obile instead which is so easy to use and updates for traffic. I only use the Mazda car navigation when I need satellite navigation. Mazda wake up and let your system integrate with Google play, your navigation system is poor.Purchased in December 2021 for $43,000.00.

My real experience with Mazda Australia and Penfold Burwood after getting my CX-5 - 4 days with engine issue
I am a fan of CX-5 before I meet below so sad story with Mazda in Australia.
I have a CX-5 2012 in my country and it almost never have issue since 2013 to Oct, 2022.
I arrived at Melb in Oct, 2022 and with no think I buy CX-5 cause I trust the product and Mazda. But below sad experience really make me sick and I will sell my CX-5 and buy a new car in other brand.
Sick experience with Mazda AU, and Penfold Burwood Dealer:
I buy a brand new CX-5 Akera, 2.5L Turbo Petrol in Nov, 2022, the engine has issue after 4 days around 30KM drive. Mazda ...Read more

Perfect upgrade from our Mazda 6
We have owned a Mazda 6 for 18 years and its always been very reliable. We purchased a Mazda CX-5 for an upgrade and are very happy with it.
Great value for money and all the features youd expect in a modern car.

Best car ever!
The Mazda CX5 is the best car we have ever bought. We bought it from Paradise Motors SA in October 2022. After considering many other medium SUVs, the CX5 confirms all the positive reviews we read months before making our decision. We chose "soul red" colour and had the MotorOne Protektiv Car Care product included. Often people remark on the quality of the paintwork (eg very shiny) and are impressed (as we are) on the general appearance of the car. It's the 4th Mazda vehicle we've had, including 3 new ones from Paradise Motors who are simply the best as far as service is concerned - we won't go anywhere else!
Purchased in October 2021 for $38,000.00.

Maxx 2018 no extras. Love this vehicle. So many safety functions. Reverse camera is excellent, big screen size, so easy to read & sensors identify rear hazards. Blind spot monitoring is really helpful. Fuel economy seems good. Vision is great, nice height & good views from windscreens & mirrors. Cargo area huge. Bluetooth is great for music & incoming calls. Music centre is easy to control from steering wheel, but you cant use touch screen while driving, which means passenger cant skip music tracks. Middle back seat passenger doesnt have legroo...Read more

Comfy but noisy
Have had the car for 6 months now. Comfy to drive, passenger seats etc
Not the fastest car off the mark, cruises comfortably at highway speeds with decent acceleration for overtaking.
Would really have been great if turbo engine was an option at time of purchase .
The car really needs the extra power you get when test driving the equinox which had its own weaknesses. Fuel economy is not great. Just over 10l per100.
Pop up display on windscreen is very handy. Built in navigator is surprisingly good. Sound system not great, Some other models hav...Read more

10 K review
This is 10K review, bought our car in December 2018 after long search. We tested several cars like Lexus, Volvo and Subaru, but none of them passed our requirements list.
Our last car Subaru Forester XT lasted almost 13 years and covered more than 300K.
Finally, version of CX-5 with turbo engine!
After driving this car for more than 8 months we can review it.
PROS:
1. Value for money – car is packed with many features, leather seats, electronic gadgets, etc
2. Driving position is adjustable and stored for two drivers
3. Very good acceleration
4. The best is HUD – together with GPS system is fantastic. You do not have to look at navigation screen....Read more

In love with my car!
I have had my Mazda CX-5 for just over 12 months and have never looked back! It is so comfortable to be in and drive. The technology is user friendly and has so many features to assist you such as the navigation and even the average fuel consumption. It is driven each day for commuting to work, the gym and around town. I have had my CX-5 serviced once and the customer service I received was wonderful, very friendly and informative throughout the entire experience.

CX5 Akira 2018-I love this car
I have had my Cx5 2.5l petrol Akira for 16 months and it has been awesome.
It is my daily drive around Sydney and for trips to the Snowy and Blue mountains.
Smooth to drive, safe, comfortable, functional, stylish, good for towing my trailer.
The servicing dept of Mazda has been terrific.
I have friends with more expensive makes of cars who have driven my CX5 and have admitted it is better than their cars costing $30,000 more.
I just got back from a country trip and was getting 7.5l per 100km.
Great Job Mazda.

Great Car
I purchased the Mazda CX5 and I love it. It's a wonderful car, it has a lot of safety tech and they all work perfectly well. This is the first time I own a Mazda and have had no problems with it at all. My next car will certainly be a Mazda.

One of the best car I've ever had
I love my mazda cx5. It's fun and soo comfortable to drive since I got the diesel one. Very good on the freeway and hilly areas, drives effortlessly. Looks very sleek and elegant. Can't fault a thing. Hopefully it will keep going like now for numbers of years.

Fun to drive car
I have a Mazda CX 5 and i usually do 70 Km per day. Very happy with the overall performance of the car. Mileage is 9.2 per 100kms with 91 octane fuel. Could have been a bit better. Otherwise I enjoy driving this car. Interior is very posh and I love the BOSE music system. No wonder CX5 is the trending SUV in the Australian car market for years.

Product works greatly for me
I was looking for a second vehicle for the three drivers at home. After searching online various options I was attracted to comments on Mazda Maxx CX-5 on this web site. They are genuine feedback from vehicle owners and answered most of my queries about the car I was looking for. It became no brainer to choose this car as our second car. After convincing my missus we went to look for a good deal in the market and got one from a local dealer. Having owned the vehicle for just a week we're quite happy with its performance and fuel efficiency. The...Read more
only aspect I'm not fully satisfied is that CarPlay support costs extra $495 for 2018 model while 2022 model has it included (brochure for Mazda CX-5 presented to us in dealership is for 2022, as I found out later). This web site makes my life much easier to get useful feedback about product and help make informed and wise decision for small or big purchase.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

CX5 Diesel _ Great car to drive but doubts over diesel engine reliability.
Have owned a CX5 GT Diesel for 3 years and it has been a pleasure to drive until recently. I do a long highway commute to work each day, which is why I purchased the diesel (longevity and fuel economy). Everything was fine until recently when the car started to experience loss of power and high engine temperatures (light flashed up on dash). I have it booked into the dealer to be checked, but now that I have done a bit of research it seems the diesel engine has issues with heating and blowing head gaskets, not a good issue to have for a car driven long distances in the Aussie summer. The rest of the car is to the usual Mazda quality standard, but it seems the diesel engine may have a design flaw.

$500 to retrofit android auto / apple carplay on 2 month old car - Ridiculous!
After receiving my brand new Mazda CX-5 GT only 2 months ago i'm now being asked to pay an additional $500 to retrofit android auto/ apple carplay unit which now comes standard on the CX-5. You'd think for people that have recently purchased a CX-5 (ie, in the last 6 months) that they would as a courtesy offer to upgrade the entertainment unit for free or at the very least a subsided price.
Very disappointing as i was expecting more from Mazda.
Will I buy a Mazda again? Hmmm, not so sure now.

Buyer beware
Beware! When driving in rainy conditions you can’t bloody see out the windscreen. The angle of the windscreen holds the water even when you have the highest speed working. It’s a new car with new windscreen wipers.
After owning lots of cars this is far the worst.
Absolute nightmare to drive in the wet. Death trap
Love to hear from other owners if they experienced the same problem
