The servicing scams continue
Yet again our Mazda agent tries to scam a customer. Not the usual 'optional wheel alignment fee' pushed hard (they should advise you if uneven tire wear indicates alignment issue). This time, the wife takes in low km car for 3 yr/30k service (ie service whichever is first, 3 yrs or 30k, simple really). Told she didn't need more expensive service 30k service just a cheaper 'interim' service. I rang back and said no, I want the 3yr/30k service and was immediately given it without argument. Why? in 3 months they would have called and said we are...Read more
late on the 3 yr service so need to bring in the car to keep the warranty. Nice trick and I bet the make serious money on that scam. Bloody Mazda dealers trying to claw back money because of the 12 month service interval as opposed to the 6 month one which brought more money to dealers.Similar opinion? Absolute Rip-Off
It is very difficult to know that staff took advantage of unknowledgeable first time car buyer by providing retail price of CX3 at 15% rate for 7Years! It is almost a joke to our friends and family!
Unfortunate to know how some Sales people can disgustingly be so hungry for money to charge as such!
We are now almost 4Years in and still owing $18000 on a $23000 retails cost of the car!
We got our range rover at 1.8% rate!
This will mean that by the time Finance is finished we would have paid $48776 i wonder where does the difference of $25776 really go to?!

My experience with Mazda and their dealer GARRY AND WARREN SMITH
Sharing my experience with Mazda and their dealer GARRY AND WARREN SMITH.
This is not a reflection on Mazda as an organisation nor is it on their cars in fact I have been an advocate for Mazda for a very long time, having driven their Mazda 3 sedan for over half a decade.
On the fine Saturday morning of 07th September 2022 I with my family visited the GARRY AND WARREN SMITH MAZDA dealership with a clear intention of buying MAZDA CX9 AZAMI LE. I had been researching and deliberating the various aspects including the price factor and the version...Read more
s of the same model for almost a month among different dealers. Like most astute customers, my intention was to find the best price for my buy and with this very intention we walked into the dealership in question. We were greeted by a gentleman named [name removed] who then proceeded to ask us about our purpose of the visit in a very cordial sales-manly way. On enquiring we told the said gentleman that we have our eyes set upon MAZDA CX 9 Azami LE and are here to find the best buy deal, upon which we were led to the gentleman’s desk. As any salesman would do he queried us re the colour and if we have a price point in mind. I informed the gentleman that upon discussions with certain another party we would like to negotiate FROM a price POINT of $61k. He noted that amount on a piece of paper and proceeded to get a nod from his manager, so we were told. And the story unfolds from here: The manager [name removed], along with [name removed] came out of their room towards the desk we were sitting on. After the traditional pleasantries were exchanged, the manager in an unpleasant, menacing and sarcastic tone with aggressive gesticulation pointed to the piece of paper on which the $61k was jotted down by the sales man, and asked us where did we get the figure from. He then accused us of lying with constant appearance of facial features representing disgust. We were belittled, humiliated and ridiculed for trying to reason out a negotiation. He attained a very loud tone while humiliating us as if to make a point in front of the whole dealership. I was there as mentioned earlier to buy a car with my own hard earned money and was made to feel as if I was caught stealing a car, even magistrates handing out punishments or in the case of Victoria handing out reprieve to criminals are nicer and polite. Even though when we were raising this disgusting behaviour with [name removed] superior, he was constantly hovering on our heads making rude and sarcastic gestures. I am not sure if he did not like to deal with ethnic minorities or he has anger and anxiety issues, we urge Mazda to take corrective action against the individual no less than offering us an apology from the individual concerned. This individual should be made to undertake a sales customer service training with emphasis on sensitisation of behaviour towards potential client. Disgusted and humiliated by such buffoonery on part of Mazda’s sales management we walked into Mazda’s competition’s show room down the road and signed the deal for a bigger expensive car. Being a Japanese brand we expected more from Mazda even though we have raised a high priority incident(1535211) with Mazda Australia nothing has come to fruition. Hope this blog or post gets Mazda moving into rectifying the gaping hole in their dealership’s customer service charter.

Don't buy A Mazda!
Bought my Mazda from Parkland Mazda. The sales staff were OK, but then again, we were spending $36K in cash... just wait until you have to deal with the service department though. Parkland Mazda's service department shall go down in history as Australia's worst and yes, I have read Pamela's post about Penrith Mazda. No doubt, Pamela hasn't had the 'privilege' of dealing with Parkland over here in the west but perhaps she should, if she ever gets her car serviced well enough to make it over. Parkland Mazda's service department also think it's...Read more
a funny game to request multiple revisits to fix one simple problem but unfortunately for me, it's a 60km round trip. It is here that I must make special mention of Deb Buttridge. On one of my numerous (though fruitless) calls to the 'service' department I heard her complain that I had the audacity to actually call and see how things were 'progressing' (obviously they weren't). I overheard her in the background saying, "She has already rang TWICE!". Anyway, after being fobbed off and leaving the car with them for 5 hours, still no joy. By this time, I was in tears and I was told I needed to book it in for 2 days and they would give me a courtesy car. My husband rang later and got a guy who sounded a little more professional. The professional (no doubt, not associated with the regular service dep't), said that a two day appointment was pointless because they don't know how to fix the sat-nav problem I was experiencing. Right now, I'm seriously considering the trade-in value of the heap of rubbish. Wish me luck, because I'm definitely going to need it. :). Should have stuck with Toyota as they were awesome.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Outstanding service and great car ... CX3 Akari
The outstanding personalised customer service Najib (Naj) Nazar, provided from the moment I walked into Artarmon Mazda, was amazing.
Especially for the exceptional service he provided when we came to collect the car.
Even my son said that his customer service skills are excellent, the care and time he took to explain everything on handover, is normally overlooked and ignored by car salesmen.
The time and effort Najib took, showing and explaining all the features of the car to me, ensured that after an hour of driving, it made me feel that I ha...Read more

Service at Mazda kirawee
Took my car for its 2nd service with Mazda at kirawee. I made sure I left the service book on the front seat. When I returned they told me they couldn’t find the service book and rummaged through my glove box looking for it then they didn’t even provide an invoice. When I got home I realised they had damaged the keyless remote when replacing the battery.
$400 for a service and that’s what I get.
Might be looking elsewhere.

What What!! He said yeah it's got finger prints in it someone has caused that the car has done 20,000 Km the only hands to have touched is are Penrith Mazda Technicians.

Rolfe Mazda Belconnen - Honestly the best sales experience ever!
We were looking for a vehicle to replace our 10 year old car. As part of our research, we decided to drive every vehicle we could. Most dealers were extremely helpful, but one stood out above the others.
Alex from Rolfe Mazda was extremely helpful and friendly and took a lot of time to explain the products to us. Once we decided on Mazda, we found the sales process to be pressure free and very helpful. We recieved a very fair trade in price for our car and were able to negotiate a good change over on the new vehicle. We found the entire staff t...Read more

Was quoted $2500, with $591 being labour. I only needed to pay the labour as this was a faulty part. On completion, the total was now $2077 with the labour only $580. However, they insisted that I pay what was originally quoted, even though the labour had come down. They refused to pass on an $11 discount as indicated on the job sheet and the invoice. After getting very frustrated, they said they would fix the problem, but now the labour increased to $602, even though the time spent working on the car did not. They then went back and readjusted...Read more

Avoid Ryde Mazda
I booked a service in Ryde Mazda for windscreen wipe recall at 1 pm 29/8/2019.
I arrived at 1 pm and the staff drove my car to the workspace after around 5 minutes.
Then I waited in the waiting room. At about 1:45, I noticed that my car was parked in the parking lot. I thought it was waiting for the service. After 40 mins, two group of customers arrived after me collected their cars and my car was still parked at the same place 40 mins before. ready to pick up or was still waiting for service. The guy who took my key said the work was done and he needed to do some paperwork. This means the car is ready to pick up 55 mins earlier when I noticed it was parked outside. I told them I have been waiting for 40 mins when the car is parked outside. The guy said he had to do the paperwork, there were other customers. I got several questions. 1. What kind of paper work need 55 mins to do? 2. Why the customers came after me collected their cars before me? Shouldn't my paper be done before them? What do you feel when the following is happening to you? The staff came to the waiting room telling a lady arrived after you that her car was ready. Then the staff drove the car from the work space to the parking lot and handed the lady her key. The paperwork is already done when the staff is washing the car after service!!! Warranty void after original tyres replaced.
BT50 had 12,000ks on the clock and the ABS sensor cable wore through from rubbing causing the ABS, Drivetrain and Traction Control fault lights to come on. Once this happened also had no cruise control, I booked it in thinking warranty would cover the car as it’s only one year old with 12,000ks and was told that warranty doesn’t cover this as they aren’t the original tyres. I had a very hard time even talking to someone at the dealership and chased it up with Mazda Melbourne which took a few phone calls to finally get an answer as to why it was...Read more
n’t covered by warranty. The tyres that replaced the original tyres are the same size on the original rims but an all terrain tyre so it appears Mazda will dodge any warranty claims possible if they can find an excuse. Mazda Artarmon
Just brought a CX5 2022 from Mazda Artamon and I really impressed with the Pre and after sales services that they have. The dealer is nicely set, friendly and down to earth atmosphere and more importantly none of those trying to tie you into a contract on the spot.
If you interested in purchase a Mazda, i recommend you to ask for a sales consultant by the name of Najib Nazar. He is good in what he does, has excellent product knowledge, outstanding customer service and would go out of his way to get the best deal for you. As for the car, it's only been 2 weeks so too early to tell but it's perform very well so far so no complaint yet.

How did Mazda Australia or the dealership resolve those issues? Did anyone successful get a refund on the grounds of major fault of the Australian consumer Law?
2 answers
Hey Stan,
Unfortunately MAZDA Australia is dragging their feet.
I have a case manager who is less than helpful and have unfortunately needed to seek legal advice due to their lack of action.
MAZDA Australia have inspected the vehicle and I’ll include an extract of their email.
“We advise that the FTS completed an inspection of the vehicle which included a road test and no abnormalities were found during this inspection. The FTS did however record the following:
LHR seatbelt does not always retract properly. Recommend belt to be replaced.
Osram 60 Watt HB3 Bulbs fitted to High Beam headlamp, GE Brand 55 Watt H11 fitted to vehicle Low Beam headlamp. These are aftermarket headlamps with correct specification for vehicle, but they are not OEM fitment.”
I have contacted my local Dealership and have scheduled a full day with an out of town dealership for them to assist me as the local dealership is in my opinion doing little to nothing to assist or resolve the issue.
I have also recently had additional issues that were brought to the attention of my local dealership within the last week and were agreed to be an issue however, were dismissed a matter of minutes later being “normal operation” without a formal inspection taking place.
If you choose to buy a MAZDA, keep in mind what I have indicated when things go wrong.
Thanks for sharing.
Unfortunately I have already gone down that road of buying a Mazda. I'm currently dealing with multiple electronic failures that comes up randomly and sometimes causing power steering and other safety features to lose functionality while driving. I have asked for a refund last year, but they blamed it on a 3rd party dashcam. However since then, they have disconnected the dashcam but the issue still came back. I have asked for a full refund but I do not think I will get a straight answer that they have transferred the money to my bank account.

I have a 2014 Mazda CX-5 diesel AWD, I paid $942 for 4 new tyres at 60,000kms, had my car serviced today at 94,000kms and have been told the tyres are unroadworthy, how is that possible after 34,000 kms, I’m a female and take it very easy and mainly drive just around town. Has anybody else had to replace their tyres this often? Is this due to them not being rotated at every 10,000km service?

9 answers
Rebecca, I suppose that it's 'caveat emptor' in your case.
What did you mean when you said 'plate'. How they took it, deliberately or otherwise, your request for a certain dated plate could have been interpreted as being first registered in that year. There are many, if not all, cars - not just Mazda vehicles - sell well into the year after its build date, particularly if there has been no change in the model and sales are slow. It doesn't make them worse cars and shouldn't, in theory, bother a buyer when you decide to change yours - at least to buyers who know what they're doing.
When it comes to selling the car, Rebecca, anyone worth their salt will have done a bit of research on the car they desire to purchase. By doing that they will have found that a particular build date, say, week 50 of 2014 was no different to that built on say, week 20 of 2015, and thus concentrate on the condition of the vehicle. Anyone fancying buying a 2015 car that is identical to a 2014 car but is showing evidence of harsh usage and poor maintenance is just being silly.
Keep a record of your services and keep a log book. Any discerning buyer will be interested and swayed by those.
Don't worry, be happy.
Cheers,
John
Thank John for your time and explanation.
Hi Rebecca,
It's common some cars are 2014 built although 2015 compliance. It would be good note for yourself in the future that you ask specifically for a 2015 built vehicle.
In the event that you signed the original contract for a new car, you would notice it doesn't have any VIN number or Engine number along with built and compliance details.
It is always a good to ask if car is in stock or ETA of delivery. If the vehicle is in Australia request to have details up front before going into the dealer and signing delivery.
Also note if your purchasing a new vehicle generally first quarter of the year, you don't always get the same year built vehicle.
In the future if you were to sell/trade the car, of course the year of the vehicle contributes to the price and along with condition, maintaince etc...
