i run my own mechanical workshop and iv had a customer come in with a jeep that needed a new pcm and re programming so it did not effect warranty i decided to buy a new pcm from jeep and at the same time have it programmed i had the vehicle booked in but when i get there they cant find the booking or there was none done so i said when could you guys fit me in they said we will try but no promises until december well they managed to fit me in the next day then i was told could not program the pcm because there is no power so i said can you just ...Read more
change the fuse and charge me they replied not at the moment we are fully booked out so iv said ill come get the vehicle and i asked how much do i owe you they said the part price plus fitting its a pcm that never got programmed because they could not change a fuse and want to charge me to install what exactly is there to install you just plug it in as for programming you just plug a laptop in and flash the vin number to the pcm i really cant believe this is how they do business as this part alone is over $1000 not just that this dealership comes to us to get there cars detailed and we always make time for them and let other customers that require jeep parts or assistance that they are a good company but thats about to change if they can resolve this for me ill change my review.Similar opinion? Ten out of ten McCarrolls VW Hornsby
Hands down the best customer service I have experienced. All of the people we came into contact with were enthusiastic for our business without being pushy. Special mention must go to Tamsin who was fantastic. I had spent the day with my daughter looking for a new car for her and after visits to 4 dealerships we arrived at McCarrolls. Tamsin listened to our brief and delivered on it 100%. The fantastic service continued right up to the delivery of the car. My daughter had the joy of unveiling the car in the showroom and all the staff shared in her excitement, clapping and congratulating her. A bottle celebratory bottle of bubbles finished off a wonderful day. We will be back.

Customer Disservice
Bought my Cerato from Kia in Waitara in 2017 when it was Suttons. Started having problems with the AV unit. They weren't helpful and then McCarrolls took over and showed a little promise. Spoke to the Kia technician and it felt like it was going to be replaced with warranty...How could I have been so foolish. Was advised by said Kia tech to wait to get my 50,000km service to do it all at once only to be told its on order but there was a delay. We'll let you know they said...waiting....waiting...waiting. I'm now almost 55,000km. Enquired again t...Read more
hen told I needed to send a video of the fault to prove the warranty claim. Why didn't they say that in the first place!?!?!?! Sent that and still waiting. Emails, phone calls, showing up at the service centre and told "it's not us it's Kia". In my opinion THEY JUST DON'T CARE! As far as I'm concerned if you're selling Kia then you are Kia. All this anguish and anxiety could be avoided with simple communication. Keeping the customer informed. Thank you McCarrolls for making me feel like I just don't matter.Similar opinion? Never buy from these guys-shocking service
Poor service from the start. Bought a brand new jeep but the customer care and service was terrible. They rarely call you back when making enquiries and constantly chasing them up for repairs etc. I do not recommend this car dealership and advise you buy elsewhere where they care. Will definitely buy elsewhere on our next upgrade.

Extremely Helpful
I took my Jeep Cherokee in for servicing yesterday and they could not have been more pleasant and helpful. Justin, booked my car in for a diagnosis and service at last minute as my car was shuddering and unsafe for me to drive my 2year old. Unfortunately Jeep Cherokee are out of stock for fuel injectors for 6-8 weeks so Justin rang around wreckers and second hand part dealers. No luck but his efforts are much appreciated!

Newcastle Service Centre a rip off !
The rear lower tailgate locks on my Koleos failed and I was unable to open at all . My enquiries revealed that this was a common fault and all indications suggested a faulty design (which should have been a product recall situation) . The vehicle had just run out of warranty however eventually they agreed to pay half the cost of the locks which were quoted at (a rediculous) $594 . I removed the locks myself (in 15 mins) and intended to reinstall however they advised that the 50% deal was only available if replaced by McCarrolls (one hours labour) .
When I picked up the car I was charged $311 for the locks and $170 for labour . Not happy Jan !!

The 3 times lucky gear knob
It’s now 8 months since we were supposed to get a replacement gear knob for our Jeep as the lever fell off!!! Took it in a gold one was supplied instead of silver?? Then waited months again to take it in and gold again!! The mechanic even changed it and took it for a test drive wth, wasted another 3 hours of my life, now waiting again, who knows when as they have not contacted me to say what they are doing??? Newcastle service centre is lacking serious communication skills internally, then the poor staff on the counter have to apologise to me the irate customer AGAIN, they are worth more money, but the parts guys??? No idea!!!

Great customer service and quick finance approval from McCarrolls VW at Waitara
Alex was helpful and very well informed about each of the models I was considering before I settled on a Golf. The team always acted as one and Nev in fleet sales was equally as helpful. Alena in the finance team was equally helpful and professional and kept me fully informed as my application for finance went through the processes. None of the team members were pushy - a good team with a good culture.

Dishonest and Deceitful
Dishonest and Deceitful best sums this group up. They willfully indulge in bait advertising - this is where they advertise a car at an incredibly good price to get you in the dealership but then the car magically disappears before you can buy it. Despite being aware of this tactic i thought getting confirmation of cars existence, VIN etc would be enough to prevent falling victim. I was unable to put a holding deposit on a car at the discount price without seeing it first and on the day it arrived at the dealership it was allegedly sold before i could get there to see it. Miraculously the same car is now for sale for several thousand more...

Dreadful. Dishonest. Disgusting. Avoid. Can I choose "0" stars?
Stuffed me around for a fortnight over an advertised Fiat 500X. When it finally turned up (they hid it for over 2 weeks) it was mysteriously sold - even though it wasn't the day before. When questioned why they allowed me to test drive a "sold" car it suddenly wasn't sold - just a lot more expensive than advertised. For no reason. 4 Trips to the dealer and still no genuine answer. The good news is that they could help with another one - identical car down to the colour and options - wow what good luck! Oh - its $4k dearer for this one. Surprise...Read more
!!! And no - unfortunately they can't give me the VIN. Oldest trick in the book - and no wonder car dealers have bad reputations. McCarrolls Fiat/Alfa are champagne dishonest car dealers. Shonks. If you want to experience it for yourself just for kicks, ask for Michellina, Taitum or Tom or Kim - they're all in on it - and they will all happily lie to your face while offering you a complimentary cappuccino! Personally I don't know how they sleep at night - but I found some comfort in buying a different car from a different dealer group in a different part of Sydney. Vowing to never again walk into their showroom helped my piece of mind a little too. Pity really - I have bought 3 new Alfa's and 1 new Fiat over the last 10 years or so. Hopefully this review can spare even just the odd person being deceived and treated poorly by these lot in the future.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
New Abarth purchase - awesome service
I have just purchased a beautiful new Abarth 595 and the customer service by Nathan at Artarmon couldn't have been better. In fact, the greeting by all staff and the customer experience overall was courteous, efficient and super-easy. No detail was left out and absolutely no hard sell was applied, especially on accessories. I initially enquired about the car at another Fiat dealership, but they were truly hopeless - pointing me to the wrong car, can you believe. I have no hesitation in recommending McCarrolls Artarmon!

McCarroll's Volkswagen Waitara
Bought a second had car from McCarroll's Volkswagen Waitara. Overall a good experience, marred by the fact that the car had a faulty transmission. However they fixed the problem (dropped in a whole new gearbox) which has been fine ever since.
The good:
The guys were great to deal with. Didn't get the "dodgy second hand car dealership" feel from them at all (I did from other dealers). I didn't feel like I was getting pressured or any dodgy treatment at all.
They didn't offer my any kind of dodgy trade in for my bomb of an old car. Were stra...Read more

Failure to comply with conditions of sale.
Our Charity purchased a 2nd hank Toyota Hi Ace Commuter Bus from Mc Carrols Artarmon in June 2016. There were conditions to the sale. 1. That the vehicle be provided with new engineering certification as the seats were being reduced from 14 to 12. It was 3 months after purchase that this work was done. 2. Because we are a charity the concerns both of safety and ongoing maintenance costs were critical with this sale . It was agreed that the vehicle would come with 3 years of Servicing. The vehicle was paid for in cash that was raised from doing...Read more
sausage sizzles at Artarmon Bunnings. Recently I took the vehicle to Barcoo Street for it's 1st Service. I gather that the vehicle had an oil change. whether the filters had been replaced I do not know. I asked what had been done and I was told it had all been paid for by the sales dept. When I returned with the bus I found that the next service was down as required by 30/06/18 or 190,000 kilometres which ever comes first. When I checked the log book I found that they had conveniently forgotten about 7 services that would normally be done. The McCarrol's are a family business, how can they allow members of their staff to treat a Charity in this way. We are a voluntary organisation working hard to help 400 residents mostly over the age of 70 to have as quality of life. Lets see what soul you really have.Similar opinion? Terrible Service
Bought a Volvo S60 from them, terrible service!!! I had to wait for almost a year to get my second car key and had to pay a visit to program it, just because they did not do it right at the time of the sale. After sales service is almost non-existent. I wanted to purchase an extended warranty, and wrote several emails made phone calls, no response after 1 month and still waiting. People who purchased Ford get free hire cars when they put the car to service, and I have to hire Uber to get to work.

McCarrolls Fiat Newcastle - Fantastic Customer Service
I purchased a new Fiat Abarth 124 from McCarroll's Fiat in Newcastle NSW on the 4th of May 2017, from the initial phone contact with Nic, to the test drive & finalising the deal with Tony and Nic and then to picking up the car today from Bryant and Ardi, the customer service has been outstanding, these guys would have to be the most pleasant professional welcoming people you could wish to deal with. The service was just amazing!

Do not use the Service Centre at Newcastle
I took my car in as it was making a noise. They told me they took the alternator belt off and the noise stopped, so there was a problem with the alternator. They quoted me a massive $1,600 to replace it. When the car completely stopped I contacted McCarrolls and tried to book it in... well the first availability was a WEEK AND HALF away. So I ordered the part alternator myself through parts dept at McCarrolls, which was $1,000 +. Given the quote to replace was $1,600 means they were charging me $600 to replace it ! I rang another Volvo r...Read more
epairer in Newcastle, and the quoted me a third of the cost to do the work. So paid for the alternator and took the car elsewhere to have the work done, at less than a third of the cost. The place I took it to also said they would have gotten the alternator for $600, so you work it out. Rip off ? you bet. While the other workshop was doing the work, they discovered that the tensioner for the alternator belt had been snapped off.....well, who do we think did that ?? The place that I've just mentioned who said the took the alternator belt off. Of course and said absolutely nothing to me when I picked the car up. So a) they charge extortionate amounts and b) when they cause damage to your car they don't tell you. Clearly if the damage was already there they would have said something. I know it was them because where it was broken off had engine grime on the break, so it could not have been done by the repairer I took it to. I gave these people one more chance after another of our cars went in there for work and came back with only two of the five wheel bolts tightened and the front passenger side wheel nearly came off.....this service centre are clearly dishonest and charge more than double of what other repairers charge and do a crap job. I also suspect that they took off my alternator belt and replaced with a much older one that was about to break as my car has done less than 80,000 km's . Kind of impossible for the alternator belt to be in that condition. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
