Frequently refer to my history of topics studied
The learning and support experience with MHA is always complimentary to my client's expectations of me, when they seek help and support for their personal or family wellbeing, and behavioural issues. I frequently refer to my library of completed study sessions on MHA site to improve future meetings with, and help services for, clients.

2019 Mental Health Super Summit
I was really enjoying the webinar that was set as well as the topic that were discussed. The contents were great and knowledgeable speaks offering different perspectives and it has been a great help in my case studies and work. The courses were not hard to understand. Just a little bummed that there's a time limit to access the resources after the event.

Real advice and strategies
I have been with MHA for several years now and have always gain useful skills by studying the courses offered. When I have a client and I want to brush up on my skills for their particular need I come here and find the information I need that is user friendly and accurate.
Every year I attend the MHA Summit and the Super summit and every year the speakers and subjects are fantastic. The speakers may talk on a subject that I feel I know everything about only to find that there are new perspectives or ways of working with issues that I didn't k...Read more
now. This helps me to grow and understand more about mental health and supporting people living with it everyday. One of the lectures was on treating depression using motivational interviewing. This was amazing and this and well as all the lectures over the 3 days come with a slide presentation you can keep and watch over and some resources you can download. This is a valuable tool for anyone working in this area.

Next best thing to a face to face.
I was very satisfied with the overall quality of the presenters. To have that amount of knowledge and experience in spot is amazing.
I felt that the course content was, for me, measured by the episodes of 'ah ha!' moments. Not difficult in academic terms but extremely thought provoking.
Excellent!.

Very good for ongoing education.
I am very satisfied. I am able to consolidate what I learnt at Uni.
The course is difficult enough to be challenging. I want to keep on going, doing extra units.

Flexible accessible learning for rural mental health workers
The content of material on the site is vast, as what mental health work it. It allows me to identify a knowledge and or skill deficit in my practice framework. I then research an available course, but also follow up with further reading in the bibliography of power point resources, or through recommendations of further reading by presenters. I have found this very supportive as I work in isolated rural areas. I can learn at my own pace and follow up on material relevant to my current practice.

An outstanding resource
I have had the pleasure of viewing the 'Suicide Prevention online conference for mental health Professionals' on 12-14 April this year and the Act for Kids charity '2019 Mental Health Super Summit' on 4-6 October.
Both occasions have greatly exceeded my expectations both in organization, presentation and most importantly; selection of speakers.
The use of three days, including a weekend, was necessary in order to do justice to the depth of the subject matter, and allowed for reflection on the one day's events in one's mind before the next.

he availability of the lectures and all presentation material for a very adequate period after all sessions had finished was incredibly useful. As an example, I was able to stream the content of all of Friday's presentations later on a non-working day and evenings the following week. Use of the Webinar format allowed world-class contributors of note to be gathered from all over the globe, something that would be too costly to contemplate if their physical presence had been required, thus a much more rounded itinerary was possible. The only downside of course to this method was that it simply was not possible to answer all of the many questions submitted during each lecture due to time constraints.Similar opinion? Well coordinated summit, very professional and a wide range of topics.
It was great to have the opportunity to hear a range of speakers, who are all leaders within their own fields. It was professionally delivered and easy to access.
It was very helpful to have the recordings available later. I was unable to commit to all of the live presentation times. It also gave me the chance to process my learnings by pausing the playback; and to spread the webinars out over a couple of weeks.

Highly recommend it!
I just finished the 6 week 'Disaster Trauma Counselling' webinar and I thank you very much for putting on such an interesting and engaging course! I loved Prof. Cirecie's 'hand on 'approach that was informed by such vast and in depth experience 'on the ground'. It was inspiring and I gained a lot from it. I love that the MHA courses are online and allow to engage and learn at a time that is convenient for me. The feedback from the office is always helpful and prompt, supportive and engaged. Highly recommnedable!

MHA courses and Summits
The MHA programs and initiatives, including the summits enhanced Mental health practice and practitioner skills enormously. The range of topics, the international speakers and the professionalism of MHA's presentation of material has made it possible for everyone to extent their professional skills and knowledge.I have found every aspects of the MHA to be extremely useful, informative, professional, educational, stimulating and at times thought provoking. Not to mention affordable.
The courses are challenging enough to make them valuable but the diverse range of courses offered encourages you to extend your knowledge by completing more.

Apart from the initial/annual subscription fee, are there any other costs that I might/will incur by using your educational site?
Kind regards

Hi Siobhan,
I pay the subscription monthly and since being a member have attended a number of Master Classes and the annual Summits and have not paid any extra. So, no, no extra costs/ fees.
Joshua L.Mental Health Academy
Hi Siobhan. Yes, Karen nailed the answer - our membership fees are all-inclusive, so you don't need to pay any additional fees to enrol in our short courses. The fees also cover your assessments, Certificates, and more. All the best!

I am a qualified social worker working in mental health. Am I able to use this membership to complete my cpd to obtain mental health social worker accreditation with the AASW. It appeared that I could before I joined but now I am a little confused. Thanks

You can use it to maintain the required annual CPD points for your AMHSW accreditation
Joshua L.Mental Health Academy
Hi Steph, thanks for your question. All our courses are endorsed for CPD by the AASW. As an AMHSW you are also required to undertake CPD which specifically covers Focussed Psychological Strategies, or FPS. Currently we offer over 90 hours of FPS-related CPD - to identify which courses cover FPS, you can either use our "Topics" filter (in the Catalogue page), or you can refer to our FPS Course Collection: https://www.mentalhealthacademy.com.au/catalogue/collections/focussed-psychological-strategies-fps-topics

Hi I was wondering if I join the mental health academy will I still have access to the super summit. Thanks kate

Yes, the Mental Health Academy is for ongoing professional development, to learn more on counselling therapies, and obtain certificates.
If you are with the Australian Counselling Association the points get added to your OPD log.
Joshua L.Mental Health Academy
Hi Kate! Thank you for your question. Registration for the Mental Health Super Summit is separate to MHA membership, as part of the event's purpose is to raise funds for charity. That being said, after each edition of the Summit, many of the sessions are converted into MHA courses and are available for members via our Catalogue. Thus, by becoming a MHA Premium member, you'll have access to most sessions from previous editions for the Mental Health Super Summit. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. All the best!
