C-Class-Good German engineering, rather bad service in Perth from two agents, DIY recommended!
Hi,
C220 CDI W204 2007 model bought second-hand with 120,000km. Found the following servicing problems:
1. Osborne Park did not change the fuel filter at 60,000km, nor Bentley at 120,000km, both items are in the service booklet. The fuel filter was cut open and shows obvious contaminations, it was still the original.
2. Osborne Park did not change the automatic transmission oil and filter at 60,000 and Bentley likewise not at 120,000km. The oil was flushed by myself and was black and stank, not a good sign.
3. The front brake rotors were c...Read more

Great car very comfortable nice and very easy to drive great on economy and a lot of simple to use features. Don’t be fooled this is a very easy car to service for a DIY person Oil and filter change every 15k and it will go for ever it’s 10 years old and still a great car to drive . The only problem we’ve had is a injector seal leaked and it’s common on number two cylinder easy fix

Functions Beautifully, when it's working
Purchased this car off my father as he was about to trade it. I do a long commute and the Commodore I was using could only even if I was driving it nicely, could only get 11 to 13 litres to the 100km, the Mercedes gets 7.4 litres to the 100km. The diesel drives differently to petrol and tends to chug along, rather than purr. It still moves along quite effectively. Very comfortable, and easy to maintain. So far it hasn't been expensive to service. Until now. Had a engine management light come on. Almost straight away lost power. Had it to a mech...Read more
anic with in a day. He worked through all the obvious things like the DFS which is a pollution scudder on the exhaust, cleaned all the fuel systems, which where gummed up I was shown images. This vehicle has 110K on it, and it's been 10 weeks and counting at the mechanics, with no sign of resolution. It's gone back wards and forwards to different Mercedes service centres, and it's still not resolved. Long trips I get 4.8 litres to the 100km, and fill it up once every two weeks rather than once a week. Only have one minor grip, the indicator arm can be a bit sticky.Similar opinion? Just a lovely car. Beautiful to drive look at and own. Usual merc caveats re $$$ but it is worth the extra if you can afford it.
Sensational fuel economy for it's size.
Expensive extras like sat nav, bixenons, etc.
