Excellent site supervisor, poor studio M experience from management!
The whole process of the build was very well managed by our site supervisor. My husband worked in Melbourne during the 4 months of our build and our SS was very accommodating with phone calls and updates during this time. Any concerns or questions and they were answered. We could not be more grateful and thankful for our amazing SS.
Our biggest downside was after our build in which we have had 4 months of being ignored and being told it is our problem not Metricon's and there's nothing they can do.

in Shepparton were we picked our roman blinds for our house in which a young lady showed us swatches of. We picked a fabric which we would have chosen and had quotes for if we had not proceeded with Metricon. Metricon came in cheaper. We loved the fabric and the cost suited our build. Now we know why they were cheaper! However when they were installed in the 3rd last week of our build, we raised the concern with our SS that the fabric was not what we had chosen. He advised us to speak to Studio M, which we have done..for the last 4 months. Lots of going back and forward and being left on read, to being told its our problem and the fabric we chose in studio m was a "curtain fabric NOT a roman blind fabric". We DID NOT go up to a wall and choose the swatch colour nor fabric that was provided. The young lady presented us with a swatch group to which we chose and laid out on the table for the remainder duration of our appointment to make 100% sure its what we wanted. After liaising with multiple people and being spoken to very rudely on multiple occasions we were very gutted to be told they're not going to do anything about it and they've investigated it to the extent they can. We provided photos of what we chose on the day and a photo of what was installed during out build. One photo of the product we "supposedly" chose (the swatch GIVEN to us on the day) and the product installed is something they cannot assist us with as the product installed into our house is the same product in our contract and installed. If by some mistake studio m mucked up on the swatches and called us to say the wrong set of swatches was given to us on our selection day we would have very appreciative to have been told this and would have been more then obliged to return to studio m to choose a different fabric or colour or if unable to find something similar to what we would have liked we would have cancelling the item off our variations. The most disappointing thing about this whole experience is studio m and being ignored by management in a business they advised are professional and above standard.

Post handover
10 mos post handover. Issues with our tile and driveway has not been resolved. Called our service warranty team and week after week Still no actions done on the site to rectify items in the house. I have waited more than 48business hours for someone to give me an update on the concerns I have post handover but not a single response to my email or call back received. Very frustrating customer service for the top dollars We paid for the build... so frustrating.

ed the wrong item. She had great knowledge in areas and gave us things to think about that we didn't think of. Make sure if you are unsure of something you ask as many times as you need and that it is correctly written on paper if you don't it will trickle down into the build and they don't know what you have ordered that is something that is done in the office. The office is different to when you start building if you need to get a hold of someone in the office it can be very hard and they don't return phone calls. Our site manager was amazing. Could not have asked for a better person to guide us through this process. Explained every step, kept in contact weekly with us, always returned my phone calls, answered any questions no matter how silly they might have been, any concerns always took it on board, very organised and on schedule with everything had he had control of. We are very happy with the final product of our home looks beautiful Metricon builders have done a great job great quality.

A place we love to live
From the beginning of the building process our site manager [name removed] has kept fully informed on a weekly basis. Each stage has been been extremely well coordinated, nothing was too trouble and we are very satisfied with the end result.

Very good experience, and the time frame to build is fast, seen some minor difference from the contract.
I'm very much satisfied with my Metricon experience in building our house Agar 26, Kingston with our contract 702445, the building teams, [name removed] (Operation Support Coordinator), and [name removed] (site supervisor) well informed me about the development of every stages of the project, [name removed] ask me to visit the site for every stages done. [name removed] is very well attended if ever I have concern to the project. There is a variation of the cost to the estimated cost due of the upgraded products, but Overall I'm satisfied.

Review of after-build warranty
This is my review of my experience with Metricon warranty support.
We built a double story Vantage 46 house with Metricon in Bentleigh East in 2022.
After moving in, we logged warranty items into their online support portal.
We were told that we would be contacted "until the service period has ended".
This is when our nightmare began:

Start of Construction to Settlement and Handover
Metricon did a great job building my first home. My double storey house was all completed in the November-March time frame with settlement in first week of April. My site manager Quentin was very good, and he kept me updated on progress periodically and answer all my questions through out the process.
I enjoyed the process and would use them again when I need to.

We are half way through our build and so far our site manager has been great! This is our second time building. Our first house was also a 53 square house but built by private builders (started 2014, finished 2016). phase/s has been quite smooth. Any concerns or issues that I raised was quickly addressed. Our site manager has always been contactable and EXTREMELY knowledgeable. He has kept us updated on a regular basis and has been amazing to deal with. In the end, the overall quality of the build depends on the various contractors that work on the house but how well they do their job is managed by the site manager. I am pleased to say that our site manager has been very detailed in his acceptance of workmanship - more often than not, he has been the one who has pointed out any deviations. We have had private building inspectors go through the property at the key stages of the build and overall there were not many concerning issues picked up. All issues that were raised was promptly rectified or justified. Reading and hearing various reviews, there seems to be a lot of issues post handover so I will reserve my final review for when we move in BUT overall I have been extremely pleased with the service I have received from our site manager and his team.Similar opinion? Metricon did a very good job building my first home.
Construction started mid-Decemeber and finished late April.
My site manager (Ryan Simmons) was great. He was very responsive and answered all the questions that I had during the build.
I had a private building inspector who confirmed that building was to a good standard in each stage, and came up with few minor recommendations which Ryan took into account in most cases.
Overall, there have been minor issues during the build, which is normal with every real-life build, but Ryan did explain and fix them.
I enjoyed the journey with Metricon and will use them again when I need to.

Good, but not up to the standard you would expect.
The build was managed very well and complete on time but when it finally come to handover there was such a stuff around to get the keys and a mess was left at my house. My house was suppose to have its “final clean” but when I arrived there for handover there was still dust on the walls and footprints on the floor boards. If that was the only problem I would have been very happy. It was later that I discovered none of the bathrooms had exhaust fans in them and my rear sliding door to the backyard did not have a lock on it. Things I just assumed...Read more
a new house would have but maybe that’s my mistake for assuming I guess. After all that I decided to stick my head up into the manhole for the roof space just to have a quick look. Upon climbing into the roof I noticed that the exhaust ducting for my Kitchen range hood had not been correct plumbed up to the flue that had been installed and the ducting was just flapping about. I also noticed that the service light that had been installed in the roof had also not been mounted properly either and it was just hanging from a single screw of one of the roof trusses. Both very poorly done I must say. Overall the house looks good but the finishings that you would expect in a modern day house we’re not there. Being the second home I have built I knew the standard for which I was expecting and Metricon just did not deliver or meet those standards. Also it has been a month since the build and there countless texts and emails none of those things have been rectified and I am now having to spend more money to get them doneSimilar opinion? Will never go back to Metricon again
I had the worst experience with Metricon and it all comes down to the Site Supervisor who was in charge. He had absolutely no idea what he was there for. I would ask him if he were to build a house for himself would he do it this way? He waited for me to point out any issues. For example pouring of the concrete in the driveway and the outdoor looked like a child had done that. I will never never go back to Metricon. And their service is pathetic and rude. And all this at a time when there are fewer people constructing houses.

Amazing from start to finish!
From our first meeting with our sales person to hand over we have been so happy with the process. This is our first home so we were super in-experienced, Metricon helped us through out the whole build. Their staff are always happy to answer questions and go out of their way to help. We have every intention of building investment homes in the coming years and very safe to say we will be using Metricon.

Worst Experience!
As a first home owner and builder I expected a couple of hurdles but i also trusted the “professionals” to help with the process.
Everything through the build was great.
Then i moved in.
I noticed that when i emailed through my carpet choice i indicated that i wanted to select a different tile.. i never got a response, so i assumed then that she has chosen a tile like i described. But that didn't happen, although she definitely got my email because the carpet was correct.
Empty promises! My site manager then said he would close the gap Under the cupboard in my dishwashing provision with a kickboard and change the handle on the butlers pantry.. never happened..

Excellent experience
I’m very pleased with the experience I’ve had with metricon. From the moment I got the quote to the end of the build. I have remained well informed of were we were at at all times. The most impressive part was when I went to site and the action and pace that the house was built.
Coming into uncertain times(COVID 19) the superviser put in extra effort to get me into my home and remained positive throughout.

Hi,
I recently purchased an 18 months property from the original owners which was built by Metricon. I have asked Metricon to send me the hand-over documents which has all inclusions (features, fixtures, etc) and a login details to their warranty portal.
I have been refused to these requests and was told that such request should come from the original owners before they can send the documents to me as new owner.
The original owners have nothing to do with the property anymore and have no obligations to get involved.
As the second owner who has all relevant papers to prove that, why can't I request to have these pass on to me?

Hi I live in NSW and build a house in Melbourne. Now the house is ready for final inspection and Metricon wants me to appoint somebody to do the final inspection and settlement or it will go for settlement as per the contract. Please see below the exact wording from Metricon Management. (Knowing the situation of the country I believe its unfair to force me to accept conditions as per the contract.
"In accordance with the signed contract clause 36, Notice of Completion has been issued and seven days has now passed. We understand due to current circumstances you are unable to attend the inspection and would like to appoint a Power of Attorney on your behalf.
We request that you please provide your POA by close of business Monday 6/04/2020, in order for the inspection to be conducted. If you are unable to organise your POA, the home will be completed and we will proceed to settlement."
I am happy to appoint somebody to do the final inspection. However I want to be the settlement to take place when the travel restrictions are over as I want to be satisfied that I am getting what I was promised.
(I believe that I only get 90 days warranty to point out any further issues or any items not as per the contract)
If Metricon is in a hurry to settle it, All what I want is to provide 90 days from the date the travel restrictions are lifted (When it is safe to travel).

Thanks for your question via Product Review,
We understand your concern regarding travel restrictions. Travelling to facilitate obligations under the building contract for the purposes of a home settlement (including final inspection) is permissible. It is challenging for all of us, nevertheless, we have needed to find ways to still meet our obligations under the contract.
A Travel Certification letter, confirming you are a customer of Metricon Homes, can be provided. This should be carried during travel, verifying to any authorities that it is permissible for you to do so. Metricon Homes and the residential construction industry continues to be an essential service and travel is allowable between Metricon Offices, displays, design studios or build sites.
As per contractual obligations, Metricon is required to proceed with your home settlement as scheduled. We are unable to hold on to the home, having it sit dormant for an indefinite period. Metricon continues to operate with our Construction operations building homes to meet our obligations for all customers.
As outlined, if you are unable to be present at the home settlement, a Power of Attorney will be required to assist the handover of your home, or the home will be handed over without final inspection.
We are confident that the customer travel letter will provide peace of mind. Please contact us at [email protected] with your Contract Number and/or Site Address and we will send you the travel letter as soon as possible.
Rest assured, whichever way you decide to go, you will have 90 days to raise any Service items that you feel require inspection/correction. You may use a Power of Attorney for this activity as well.
We appreciate your understanding for Metricon to continue performing “business as usual” in line with our obligations to you under the building contract, and we look forward to hearing from you with regards to what measures you are taking in order for settlement of your new home to take effect.
