This is my dream house
The house that Metricon helped me was too satisfying to me. The team led by [name removed] completed the construction of the house as quickly as possible, and it was completely built according to the contract. I am very happy that they built the house of my dreams. The two-story house only took more than five months, which was beyond my expectations. Thank you very much Metricon and their employees.

A place we love to live
From the beginning of the building process our site manager [name removed] has kept fully informed on a weekly basis. Each stage has been been extremely well coordinated, nothing was too trouble and we are very satisfied with the end result.

happen, Just be very accurate a day before settlement I got text from site supervisor asking me to go the house and be sure every thing is ok .when I went there was someone there to fix the mixer after he finished I went to check it, it looked even worst than before with big dark stain on it, so actually instead of replacing it looks like he tried to polish it to remove the scratched but made it worst I called the site supervisor Was angry saying I’m not settling the next day, he said relax I’ll fix it just let’s settle tomorrow, the site supervisor remove the stain from the mixer but the scratches still there as before and said he need to order anew one from the warehouse and organise a plumber within a week after settlement to replace it and I’m still waiting for the plumber till now . So the mixer hasn’t been replaced !!! Also in regarding final inspection The information is wrong I didn’t go overseas also didn’t notify them a day perior also didn’t call and apologise ( see attachment plz) Actually no one from Metricon booked me for final inspection on 29th of November, is I got text on the 28th of nov from site supervisor asking to do inspection next day and I said I’m not in Melb and will be back on Sunday, I was in Sydney for 3 days ) not overseas, the reason I wasn’t available because no one book me for inspection which I should get a week notice not a day . All what I got told in the last visit before final inspection the final inspection Would be in the first week of December without confirming any date or time

Review of after-build warranty
This is my review of my experience with Metricon warranty support.
We built a double story Vantage 46 house with Metricon in Bentleigh East in 2022.
After moving in, we logged warranty items into their online support portal.
We were told that we would be contacted "until the service period has ended".
This is when our nightmare began:

Start of Construction to Settlement and Handover
Metricon did a great job building my first home. My double storey house was all completed in the November-March time frame with settlement in first week of April. My site manager Quentin was very good, and he kept me updated on progress periodically and answer all my questions through out the process.
I enjoyed the process and would use them again when I need to.

We are half way through our build and so far our site manager has been great! This is our second time building. Our first house was also a 53 square house but built by private builders (started 2014, finished 2016). phase/s has been quite smooth. Any concerns or issues that I raised was quickly addressed. Our site manager has always been contactable and EXTREMELY knowledgeable. He has kept us updated on a regular basis and has been amazing to deal with. In the end, the overall quality of the build depends on the various contractors that work on the house but how well they do their job is managed by the site manager. I am pleased to say that our site manager has been very detailed in his acceptance of workmanship - more often than not, he has been the one who has pointed out any deviations. We have had private building inspectors go through the property at the key stages of the build and overall there were not many concerning issues picked up. All issues that were raised was promptly rectified or justified. Reading and hearing various reviews, there seems to be a lot of issues post handover so I will reserve my final review for when we move in BUT overall I have been extremely pleased with the service I have received from our site manager and his team.Similar opinion? Metricon did a very good job building my first home.
Construction started mid-Decemeber and finished late April.
My site manager (Ryan Simmons) was great. He was very responsive and answered all the questions that I had during the build.
I had a private building inspector who confirmed that building was to a good standard in each stage, and came up with few minor recommendations which Ryan took into account in most cases.
Overall, there have been minor issues during the build, which is normal with every real-life build, but Ryan did explain and fix them.
I enjoyed the journey with Metricon and will use them again when I need to.

Will never go back to Metricon again
I had the worst experience with Metricon and it all comes down to the Site Supervisor who was in charge. He had absolutely no idea what he was there for. I would ask him if he were to build a house for himself would he do it this way? He waited for me to point out any issues. For example pouring of the concrete in the driveway and the outdoor looked like a child had done that. I will never never go back to Metricon. And their service is pathetic and rude. And all this at a time when there are fewer people constructing houses.

Perfection!
My build was so well managed that I am excited to recommend my building supervisor, [name removed] to others. Ilce is a very professional, competent and caring building supervisor who manages well, and provides excellent workmanship. I have not have any major issues pre, post, or during construction, any small issues that arose were handled swiftly and professionally. I am very satisfied with how well everything was handled. My final cost was spot on with my estimate. You can't ask for more than that.

Excellent Experience with Metricon
We have had a great experience building our dream first home with Metricon. The process was very smooth for us, and as first time buyers all of our queries and concerns were always answered. Our site manager was very approachable and professional throughout the entire build, we are very appreciative of the work he produced for us. Half way and going great
[name removed] is the best building supervisor we have ever had. We are about half way through building our 4th house and it is going really well thanks to [name removed]. Before you build with Metricon
We are devastated of the unethical standard directed at us towards the end of our build. Our build is delayed by 8 months and Metricon is refusing to honour our contract delayed damages. Metricon breached our contract by charging us using the wrong payment method. To resolve the breach, they offered us to defer remaining payment until settlement and now they are not honouring that agreement.
Our build is stressful, there are so many breaches with building regulations, council requirements. We were not given opportunities to inspect defect...Read more
fixes, and were told they are fixed without evidence. Now, hoping to move in and got a call from a manager telling us they won’t pay us delayed damages. They threaten us that if we pursued the delayed damages, they will pursue the interest charges as there’s no written agreement even though the finance team leader agrees with us that agreement exists. How could any human beings use this strategy in this time of coronavirus, where people have lost their jobs and struggle to make ends meet to deny them the right to damages? We have many sleepless nights, sorting through our contract, domestic building contract act, regulations, seeking legal advices, complaints to VBA / council, and in doing so, have somewhat unable to provide our children with the care they need. I woke up one morning, and my wife was still compiling an email to justify why we were entitled to the damages. I am sadden to see these are the sort of people we are building our home with and for as long as we live in this house, it is nothing more than a reminder of the deceit and the emotional pain we have endured. If you are looking to build your dream homes with Metricon, please re-consider. Ask yourself this question, is this the sort of company you want to support with your hard-earned money? If they can treat someone else like this, what makes them treat you any different? If we had a chance to build again, no, we would not build with Metricon, regardless of how good their display homes looked. Good luck to you...1 comment

Metricon Review
Sales team were awful to deal with (Traralgon office) however the site manager ([name removed]) and tradies were excellent to work with and quite accommodating. The build was managed well by the site supervisor . The workmanship was excellent The only issue we had was with the efficiency of the sales staff who were misinformed didn’t include some of the features we requested in the contract. The contract signing procedure was badly executed. We have no towel rails in the bathrooms, we requested drawers in the walk in robe and got open cabinetry etc. Final estimate was as expected We built the Santorini 28. Poor quality of work and No Liability
I built with Metricon a year ago. Poor quality of workmanship and cheap material used. I logged all the issues within the 90 days and still waiting for a response. It's been over a year.
My floorboards are swollen,water pressure is extremely low.Poor paint job
I will never recommend Metricon to anyone. They don't take responsibility and pass you on from one department to another. There is no complaints or escalation process.
I have emailed their Senior Management and awaiting response.

simple and uncomplicated way to build a new home.
The display home consultant [name removed] was amazing. Knowledgeable, helpful and on the ball. She had no problem going out of her way to assist in the planning and design and followed up with us regularly.The site supervisor [name removed] was helpful and also always available. Arranging site meeting were easy with him and he was always on top of the trades who where at time casual and thoughtless. One warning when at the Metricon studio do not be rushed as once it's written in the contract there is no changing.

Hi I live in NSW and build a house in Melbourne. Now the house is ready for final inspection and Metricon wants me to appoint somebody to do the final inspection and settlement or it will go for settlement as per the contract. Please see below the exact wording from Metricon Management. (Knowing the situation of the country I believe its unfair to force me to accept conditions as per the contract.
"In accordance with the signed contract clause 36, Notice of Completion has been issued and seven days has now passed. We understand due to current circumstances you are unable to attend the inspection and would like to appoint a Power of Attorney on your behalf.
We request that you please provide your POA by close of business Monday 6/04/2020, in order for the inspection to be conducted. If you are unable to organise your POA, the home will be completed and we will proceed to settlement."
I am happy to appoint somebody to do the final inspection. However I want to be the settlement to take place when the travel restrictions are over as I want to be satisfied that I am getting what I was promised.
(I believe that I only get 90 days warranty to point out any further issues or any items not as per the contract)
If Metricon is in a hurry to settle it, All what I want is to provide 90 days from the date the travel restrictions are lifted (When it is safe to travel).

Thanks for your question via Product Review,
We understand your concern regarding travel restrictions. Travelling to facilitate obligations under the building contract for the purposes of a home settlement (including final inspection) is permissible. It is challenging for all of us, nevertheless, we have needed to find ways to still meet our obligations under the contract.
A Travel Certification letter, confirming you are a customer of Metricon Homes, can be provided. This should be carried during travel, verifying to any authorities that it is permissible for you to do so. Metricon Homes and the residential construction industry continues to be an essential service and travel is allowable between Metricon Offices, displays, design studios or build sites.
As per contractual obligations, Metricon is required to proceed with your home settlement as scheduled. We are unable to hold on to the home, having it sit dormant for an indefinite period. Metricon continues to operate with our Construction operations building homes to meet our obligations for all customers.
As outlined, if you are unable to be present at the home settlement, a Power of Attorney will be required to assist the handover of your home, or the home will be handed over without final inspection.
We are confident that the customer travel letter will provide peace of mind. Please contact us at [email protected] with your Contract Number and/or Site Address and we will send you the travel letter as soon as possible.
Rest assured, whichever way you decide to go, you will have 90 days to raise any Service items that you feel require inspection/correction. You may use a Power of Attorney for this activity as well.
We appreciate your understanding for Metricon to continue performing “business as usual” in line with our obligations to you under the building contract, and we look forward to hearing from you with regards to what measures you are taking in order for settlement of your new home to take effect.

Hello,
we have moved in a new house built by Metricon. Since about 3 weeks ago I reported a toilet drainage issue. This started approximately 2 weeks after we moved in. This most probably is either bad pipes layout or a pipe if filled with construction debris. I haven't seen a blocked toilet in 20 years and now I have one on brand new house, it is almost unbelievable.
The thing is in almost 3 weeks Metricon have been unable to get somebody to really investigate this issue.
Then I have doors which do not close.
Nothing can be logged via My Metricon because my account do not exist even in the handover documents it says it is. So I communicated a couple of time via phone with some individuals who never follow up, neither update us with the status.
I am wondering how would be that anybody from Metricon to pay $400,000+ for a brand new house, then to have issues and the builder ignore you ? Is this some Metricon resolve method to ignore the customers in the warranty period ? It seems like some pattern by looking at these online reviews. I cannot otherwise explain how in 3 weeks really nothing is fixed.
