Wow

Purchased these a few months back for an XR6, coming off the crappy Maxx Sports, these MPS4 are an absolute dream. The handling into tight corners is amazing, however im totally impressed with the drive in the wet. Stops on a dime and taking off from the lights, no loss of traction. Cant comment on wear, but im sure i will update in due time

Luxury affordable

published

First I got two for my worn out front tires. Less than a month later, my rear also needed to be replaced. I asked for the same tires, Michelin Pilot Sport 4, although there are cheaper alternatives. But it's worth it to pay a bit more (still affordable) for the luxury feel. It's so quiet and smooth, makes my journeys more enjoyable. Grip on wet also excellent, makes them tires for all weather.

Very very good tyre

published

Riding on these tyres made me realise the tyres should not impede the design of the car, especially the power of the engine. It's really obvious now my previous tyres did. These tyres made the car alive again, and it feels brand new. The price of the tires was not the cheapest, but the quality is exceptional.
Sound is a major issue for me and they are quiet! Great grip on wet roads and they actually looks great too
I'll be getting this tyre every time from now on. Best I've ever bought.

Fantastic Tires!

published

Got them recently for my Ultimate Genesis, which is a massive car. Bought the 4s 275 19s. What great tyres! I have a pair of Dunlops at the front and the Michelins at the back, and i can feel so much difference throughout the car. Sound is a major issue for me and they are quiet! Great grip on wet roads and the 4s actually looks great too! Got em from Bob Jane and they gave me the best price

Great tires at a good price

published

These tires made my Skoda RS feel really good on the road. It has lightened up the responsiveness of the car.

The price of the tires was not the cheapest, but the quality is exceptional.

I have had the tires for 6 months now and they are holding up very well with no signs of wear.

Excellent sporty tyre

published

Felt great on the road as soon as I had them put on at the local Michelin dealer. Good tread pattern all around and they seem to be hard wearing. Provide a tonne of grip for a car that only sees the streets, feel great under steering and cornering in all weather conditions.

Best tires ever

I am a professional driver and I do a lot of miles, I have used many high end brands however I've never been so impressed as I am with these incredible tires especially in the wet, I have tried SO hard to lose traction but just won't lose grip at all

Very Good tyres

Purchased 4x Michelin Pilot Sport tyres from costco for my 05 Honda Accord Euro
Size: 225 45 R17

Definitely an massive difference and upgrade from Pilot Sport 3, in terms of handling and ride comfort.
Road noise when compared to PS3 is lower but still not as good as Primacy's .
Milage is little bit better 8.9/100 k from 9.5/100 k no change in circumstance from PS 3 and PS 4

Highly recommended if you like more grip/performance from your tyres

Best tyres I've ever used.

published

This is the 4th set of tyres I’ve used on my focus XR5 and by far the best performing sub $300 tyres I’ve ever used. I can really tell the difference when taking a sharp corner and braking in the wet. I’ve only had them for 6 months so I can’t comment on longevity, but they don’t seem to be wearing out prematurely. I got them for $250 each at Canterbury tyres Canterbury Tyre & Mag Supamart, and will buy them again when the time comes.

Only had them for a few weeks but the grip & comfort are unbelievable

published

Can't comment on durability yet as I've only done 1000km on them so far.
Grip in wet and dry is better than anything I've had on this car so far - beats Toyo CS1's, Bridgestone RE003's and Firestone TZ700's by a significant margin. Wet grip on acceleration, cornering and braking in particular is outstanding. Don't point as well as the Bridgestones did but still pretty good, and the grip more than makes up for it.
Not super quiet, but not noisy either.

Great performance tyre at a great price

published

Purchased 2 Michelin Pilot Sport tyres in 235/40/18 for my Renault Megane Sport Cup. Paid $188 each at my local Bob Jane and they have been great. Very low road noise and very good grip in both the wet and dry. No noise from the tyres when driving up to 120km/h. The tyres don't have the extra rim guard so need to be more careful with gutters (lost one star here, otherwise a 5 star tyre). Will definitely replace the other two tyres with the Pilot Sport 4 when the time comes. Michelin regularly have a $100 cashback which adds to the great value. With tyres being the only thing holding your car to the roads, paying a bit extra for these premium tyres are well worth it.

Super grippy tyre

published

Fitted 4 new Pilot Sport 4 tyres (215/45/17) to replace the factory fitted Yokohama dB tyres on my Toyota 86. I ditched the old tyres and wheels because they simply lacked grip. Oversteering gets a bit tiring after a while and the police don't like it either so I decided to try the newly released Pilot Sport 4. They were on special at Jax tyres.

The level of grip is amazing compared to the Yokohamas. They are also fairly quiet at highway speeds. Ive only done about 4000 kms so far so its hard to tell what the wear rate is like but I guess like most Michelins they will last a longish time.

I would highly recommend these tyres.

Good product

published

I usually buy tyres from Bob Janes T-Marts. and chose their own brand. Last Month I can hear and feel noise when I drive more than 80 km/h, so I drived my car back to Bob Janes and chose this product instead. I also did a wheel balancing. It is more expensive than other brand, But I feel very comfortable when I driving my car now!

perfect but expensive

Michelin pilot sport series might be the highest standard tyres for normal vehicles. Not only for the dry braking but also for wet braking, these tyres can provide the shortest braking distance, which can be life saving in some levels. Also the sport tyres can provide a good experience for track running, the lap time can be faster than other tyres with same vehicle. In conclusion, I would recommend these tyres to those who have extend driving expericen.

Grippy tyres at a good price

published

Had stock Toyota 86 primacy tyres and I was sliding around while taking corners. After around 30,000km I decided to change them and stumbled upon these tyres. God, I have to say these tyres are the best I've ever purchased. Grippy tyres, better fuel economy and I'm able to take faster corners. My 1-100 time is also faster as the tyres grip well to the road giving it a better acceleration on the road.

Great hard driving tyres

published

I have used Kumho tyres the last two tyre changes. A good tyre but compared to the Michelins... well there is no comparison. It's almost as if I have to re-adjust my driving style they are so responsive. It's like the car is on rails. Great in wet and dry conditions. A little noisy compared to the Kumhos but the many pluses far outweigh the minus. Prior to buying tyres, I've always done research and looked for the best value for money. There must have been a promo on as the price difference per tyre was a mere $19. Over the life of the tyres, almost nothing. Can't comment on mileage.

very impressed

published

replaced dunlop sp 01 that were original equipment on xr6 Falcon. Although the Michelin are a less aggressive style tyre they perform better than the dunlops, both with wet and dry handling and so far appear to be showing very minimal wear . Won't be changing back to dunlops any time soon

September 5th 2017 Update: still very impressed

purchased the 245/45 x 17 Michelin tires for my falcon around 6 months and 10,000 km ago.
Very impressed with the overall performance and with minimal wear showing .
Wet weather confidence and grip is very good.
If I still have the falcon when I need more tires I won't change brands.

Have just ditched the Dunlop Sport Max TT in favour of the new PS4 . We had significant power down concerns with the massive (420nm ) torque from twin turbo diesel . PS4 have now completely eliminated power down concerns on wet and dry roads, with the drivetrain now hooking up and transferring all that torque to the road without ripping your arms off, making this car seriously quick and enjoyable to drive .

I have had the Pilot Sport 4s on a Toyota V6 Aurion sedan (Now called Camry again in the new models) and after driving across Australia and back on them, about 8,000 kms, which included some mountain roads, I found them really smooth and grippy enough. The road noise is a little bit more than the discontinued Pilot Spot 3s, but overall they are a fantastic value for money tyre. On cold days they take about 3 minutes to warm up then are smooth again. I would recommend them not as a track tyre but as a reliable every day work horse.
