Not 100% Round (Run out is very bad)
Youtube says it is the best performance tyres!
****BEWARE***
The tyre Size I have is 275/35/18, the tyres are not completely round. Too much money for the brand. I need to pump the tyres to 45psi . When it drops to about 40psi, vibration occurs, the theory from the tyre shops I’ve been is that the Michelin can have a steel belt that easily gets deformed because of it being a performance tyre??? What?! What Waste of my $1600 - this is a really Honest review. I have waited for a year before doing this review because I want to give the chance for...Read more
the tyres to settle and come all the season especially summer in which I thought the warm may help the tyres to go round or become smooth on the road, but still does the vibration. In fairness to Michelin, I have had the tyre balanced using Road Force, and still have the problems, they have replaced the 2 tyres that road force balance indicated it has severe run out, once replaced the 2 tyres the vibration remains, after 6 months of Purchasing I had it road forced balanced again, thinking it may need to settle... and still there. —Now I am saving up for another tyre. I will not even sell this set that I have because I don’t want to rip people off, I will just have to chuck it away,, sigh** waste of money... But I guess, gotta live with it. - From Perth, WAPurchased in April 2021 for $1,600.00.

Grips in the Dry like Glue
I've owned these tyres 3 times on my Mazda 3 MPS.
Pros:
Excellent grip wet and dry
Great durability, had them on the car for 1.5 years and it still gave good grip.
Decent Value now, were more expensive 5 years ago.

None really, great overall Tyre. This tyre has won multiple awards and competitions, Michelin really are the front runner in performance, is it worth paying a bit more for the safety of your family? Absolutely. Good grip on Australian roads is priceless. Final Verdict: 5/5 A great option if you can afford it giving you superb wet and dry grip, tyre is a proven performer and would recommend to anyone.

Grippy tyres that last a long time...it is possible!
Just clocked up 70,000km with a set of sports performance tyres (245/35ZR19) ! Yes, since I have put these on, the last 40k km has been mainly highway driving, but still have tread left (although inside shoulders about gone). Got Nitrogen filling thrown in for free, don't know if this has helped or not. Generally the pressure are still go when I go in to get them checked every month or so.
Might be slightly louder than the OEM Dunlops, but if they were originally they quiet down as they wear (going by the volume on my radio, back to what is w...Read more

Decent performance tyre
These are the standard tyres that came with my Lotus Evora 400. On the street they have massive roadholding but on the track they leave a lot to be desired, as they get "greasy" once they go above about 35psi.
With only 5000km on these tyres they still look near new, so the wear is excellent. Pirelli P Zero (non Corsa) tyres on the same car are almost out of tread by this point.
Noise is well controlled and even with 19/20" wheels the bumps are never felt too harshly. Overall a great tyre that has no problems in standard Aussie dry/wet conditions.

Great Performance Tyre
Awesome performance orientated tyre, tried once and have continued to keep using Michelin PSS after trying different competitors. Great grip in the dry when warmed up including in the wet, fairly quiet for the long freeway drives and aesthetically well presented sidewall. Looking forward in trying the new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, successor to the PSS.

Best tyre's I have ever owned
Size: 245/40/R18
On the factory Dunlops I had serious issues with traction off the line experiencing serious wheel spin every time I gave it a boot full.
With the Michelin Pilot Super Sports I no longer have that problem, if I want to put the pedal to the metal off the line at a set of traffic lights in dry conditions there is no wheel spin at all.
They perform very well in the wet and I couldn't recommend them more highly

? Really suitable for Australian roads
I have MPSS on my Golf R. I had a couple of sets on my R35 GTR when I lived in Canada and liked them on the track and on the road. I like them on the Golf and they are good on the track. BUT they seem fragile on Australian roads. I have twice punctured when I hit potholes at around 50k/hr. The tyres were properly inflated. Of course the tyres were not repairable and its cost me a lot of money. Has anyone else had similar experience?

This or the Pilot Sport PS2
I replaced the previous set of Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's with these and have been happy so far. Haven't been able to pick out major differences between the two, and I rank the PS2's eleven out of ten. The PSS feels like it turns in sharper in the dry, but only just. I've read other user reviews commenting on the soft sidewalls but can vouch that it is not noticeable.
Have done 4,000 km's on them now, 3,000 driven enthusiastically. Never once wondered if the tyres were going to give up, or if the car was going to go where I wanted it to go. ...Read more
Wear rate should be a little better than the PS2's, time will tell. I bought these to try them out since they were cheaper than the PS2's at the time; when the time comes for a new set whichever of the PSS or PS2's will get my wallet's vote. Either way you can't go wrong.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

MICHELLIN Pilot super sport
These tyres have great grip in the dry. No issues so far. Handles well in wet. Still a little tyres spin on acceleration from hard take off from stand still, but expected with Meganes FWD set up. Super sticky and gives confidence in steering control at speed. 235/35/19inch.
Only had it for a week so far, si interested to see how it goes with tyre wear. Highly recommend McKinnon Discount Tyres for supply and install. Jeff very helpful with a few options and cost.

Excellent Gripping Tyre
Well, who can believe how much difference tyres make?
My previous tyres were Hankooks Ventus V12. A solid tyre, but losing grip in the wet (the DSC warning kept flashing like a Christmas light around corners), and not very comfortable in the dry. The only reason I persevered with them was because they came with the car and looked like they had about 90% tread, so it seemed to be a prudent move to retain them until they'd lost enough tread. Well, the Hankooks seem to be a well wearing tyre, so taking matters into my own hands I decided to pur...Read more
chase Michelin Pilot Super Sports and what a difference. The grip in both wet and dry is crazy good, and the feel in the car's dynamics is that much better it's like I'm driving a different car. I can recommend these tyres for people with cars who want good drivability. I suspect, and having had these tyres for only a fortnight it's difficult to judge, that the life of these tyres will be far less than the Hankooks. Another positive is that they are a quieter tyre than the Hankooks, despite the low profile. The road noise is far less intrusive, which again enhances driving pleasure. It is not that the Hankooks were overly bad -- far from it. Indeed, they were quite a reasonable tyre and I would have happily put them on other cars I've driven in the past. But for performance cars requiring superb roadholding, the Michelin Pilot Super Sports ARE the tyres you've been looking for. Downside, of course, is the tyres I need (265/35 rear and 245/40 front) tend to be pricey. However, I was able to get all four for less than $1500 from a Bob Jane T-Mart (including fitting and balancing), which I thought was a pretty good. So overall, quite a happy driver.Similar opinion? The best sporty tyre I've ever owned
I have Michelin Pilot Super Sports fitted to my M135i. I can't rotate my tyres for wear due to staggered fittment sizes. Despite this these tyres have amazing grip and are relatively long lasting. I drive my cars hard and have tried numerous sporty tyres over years in a range of cars. These are the best compromise. The only comment would be they need to be warmed up a little on cold mornings to stick but thats a small price to pay for awesome dry weather grip and good wear rates. The tyres are sometimes hard to get due to being in high demand so plan ahead.

Good tyres for road use.
The Michelin Pilot Super Sport has excellent grip in the dry and reasonably durability in normal driving conditions. I have done 30,000km so far. In the wet, the performance is good, but they can be prone to aquaplaning in heavy rain conditions on the highway. The sidewalls are quite soft considering their designation as a Super Sport tyres. At least the ride is comfortable and quiet. These don't really cut it as a track day tire, unless it is your very first time out on track.
Excellet grip in the dry. Soft ride. Reasonably durable.
Soft side walls . Lack steering feel. Don't try to use them on a track day because they will get cooked after 3 laps.
