Perfect for me but may not be for others
I needed a device that ran Windows 10 and was small, light and that I could watch TV shows on when I commuted on the train. I also wanted a USB port and the ability to add storage with a microSD card. The Surface Go ticked all these boxes.
But, the main thing that I think most people would dislike about the Surface Go is the user interface. It’s a Windows PC in an iPad’s body and that just doesn’t work well. iPads are very user friendly, especially for the less tech-savvy. They have an operating system and apps that are optimised for a 10-12” t...Read more

Great tablet. Like mini PC
It works perfect. No bugs. Do the same as PC but takes smaller room.
Windows 10 works very good on this tablet.
Very quick response. Good touch screen. Must have bought it earlier.
Great Product.

Great iPad alternative
I recently picked up the Surface Go as I wanted something more versatile (iPads are great, but they are somewhat limited, especially if you're looking to replace your computer). I expected to be disappointed with the Surface Go's performance considering it only has 4GB of RAM and 64GB eMMC storage (eMMC is basically a glorified SD card). Well let's just say I was pleasantly surprised to discover how good the performance is for a low power budget PC. I used to own the Surface Pro 6 and while performance isn't as quick as that model, it isn't too...Read more
far off provided you keep it in S Mode. If you're picking this guy up and are planning on using it as a PC, the $150 type cover is a must. There is thee more expensive Alcantara one ($199), but the cheaper keyboard is absolutely fine. The addition of a USB C port is also very welcome, as you can charge the device using a portable battery pack when you're on the move. Battery life isn't the best. I find myself needing to recharge at least once throughout the day (granted, it does get used all day). A real surprise packet
I only just purchased this last week, and it turned out to be quite powerful. I added an extra keyboard case, and 256GB MicroSD card. I was holding out for the 8GB/128GB model but this came up on special, so I decided to buy to replace my iPad. This has the advantage of being easier, and has a more flexible interface than the iPad, especially after disabling S mode.

Just shoddy quality and terrible service
The touch screen has never worked from new. I can't use the bottom 1 cm of the screen, which is where all the login/logout stuff is. I then tried to contact microsoft support. There is only one place in all of Australia (Sydney) which is 1200km away. The solution offered is to log a service request on line. The online service only offers UPS as a courier, there in only one UPS pickup in Brisbane and it is an hours drive from me. I decide to organize and pay for my own courier. Next I wait for 20 minutes on hold for the service web...Read more
site to accept the request. As I write this I am still on hold. I have tried reloading the website several times, read the news on google, answered emails. It is not my surface or the internet. The microsoft website has failed..... My strong recommendation is avoid the product. The service is terrible, and I consider a website that stops accepting requests from customers is a disaster for a company that has computer stuff as it's business.Similar opinion? A good mini word processor but a hopeless tablet
I have had my device for six months after years of happily using Ipads. When my old pad was ready to be replaced, I thought I would try a Surface Go as an alternative. My experience using it as a word processor is very good and it performs completely properly.
However, as a tablet it fails miserably - when trying to get it to work the device often freezes when doing a command. The camera is only very fair quality and the battery life is dreadful - it only seems to have a couple of hours before the battery dies, and the retailer says it can't b...Read more
e connected to a secondary battery when travelling. Whilst the device does seem very sturdy and the video quality is excellent, it doesn't seem to pair happily with the keyboard and it frequently flicks me over to other pages of its own will. In summary, very disapppointed.Purchased in December 2021 at JB Hi-Fi Retail Stores for $650.00.
