Hi, my Midea water pump has an error stating P4 which is the compressor. It says E heater mode, alarm is flashing but not beeping, do i need a new compressor and how much will i be up for, i still have hot water.
thanks

Someone said ‘E heater’ means element heating the water like the old electric ones did. Something about the outside air being too hot or too cold needing the water to be heated via an element instead?

What type of connectors are needed

In relation to my set up, the outlet pipe is common (joins both heaters), and there are valves on both inlets. So turn valve on to the heater that you require. Don’t leave both on or you’ll always be using both gas & electricity.
The Chromagen Midea 170L Heat Pump only uses electricity.
PTR valve is included in the box.
As to the connectors for inlet, outlet, drain and PTR valve connector diameters are all DN20.
Hope I answered the question.

Can I turn the hot water inlet pipe off on the unit to change a washer on a hot water tap? Otherwise it means switching the water off at the mains and draining the whole system

I would like to know if this system should be noisy. I find it very noisy

Hi i had one for 2 years all good, then went noisy . Downloaded the decibel meter app on my I phone and tested it . Unit was 75 DB !!!!! at times loud, specs say it should be 45 decibells. Told my supplier, tech, came adjusted it, no good 2 months later, so got unit replaced under warranty .
I am not happy with the noise and It does seem to be getting louder as time passes. Would not recommend it for that reason.

Had a 170 it unit installed in Feb 19. Have not noticed major savings in power bills. The unit is on all the time. Should I set it on timer so it is on only off peak?
3 answers
No, i would leave it on as normal particularly if you have solar panels on roof . If it works well, dont change it !!!!
I got told it connects to peak, so during warmer months you get a benefit, not during the colder months. Seems to be proven by my bills
No hot water pressure

Re. DISINFECTION IN 170L MODEL: the Installation & Maintenance Guide suggests on page 11 (Item 5) that there is a disinfection mode, but the website leaflet states that only applies to the 280L model. An unambiguous answer would be helpful, please CHROMAGEN. Peter

Can you use this eat pump with controlled load
1 answer
I don't think you can, which is a negative during winter. You would have to ask an electrician or the company to confirm. I get nothing on off peak now.

Can the controller board in the 170 Litre unit be upgraded so clock keeps correct time after power fail.
in this day and age most electronics have a battery back system that can last up to 10 years.
1 answer
Not sure Chris, as it was installed by a plumber in the morning, and wired up by a sparky a few hours later. Was pretty much plug in and play. I have not played around with the controls at all.
