See the Best Barrel Vacuum Cleaners in 2022 as rated by Australians on ieatwords.com.au.
Cat and Dog model does not work on dog hair. Powerline clogs up and turns off power.
It was great for the first 6 months and then started clogging after 10 minutes of use. Each clogging requires an hour of taking apart the vacuum and repairing it, since the nearest repair center to take advantage of the warranty is 4 hours away.
I would not buy this again, and no longer recommend Miele.

Better Than A Dyson
Absolutely perfect. This vacuum can pick up ANYTHING. I have two kids, four cats and a dog. The amount of dust, crumbs and hair it picks up is incredible. I'm left flabbergasted everytime!! Never did my two Dysons ever impress me like this.
Purchased in November 2021.

Good but not worth the $$
Whilst it does have a good suction, the force of air generated by the vacuum pushes all the dust into the air and around you. All the hair and fur got caught on the attachment pieces so those attachments are now useless. It is also quite heavy to lift up and down stairs.

Loving It
Bought the Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog 7 months ago and love everything about it. With 1,100 W of power combined plus the included Turbobrush, this vacuum has picked up the finest dog hair that even a Dyson wouldn't pickup. The Click2open button to empty the dust bin is a very clever feature and one of the most hygienic ways of emptying the dust bin. The build is solid but that doesn't make the vacuum hard to handle. I've found that this vacuum is very easy to maneuver even though it is corded and of solid build. Overall I recommend this vacuum and also suggest that you look out for sale events as you can get a very good vacuum for a much lower price during these sale events.
Purchased in March 2021 at The Good Guys for $599.20.

Best vacuum on the market.
Our floor surfaces range from wood, carpet onto tiles, cleaning all of them with this machine is effortless. My cordless vacuum was always running out of power after a few moments, I refused to replace the battery again. After purchasing my Miele vacuum, the suction is fantastic, the machine has 4 wheels, preventing it from tipping over, it's also easier to maneuver while in use. After it's used, it folds up and stands on its rear. All the extras are tucked away on the main body. The power cord is long enough to reach the rooms where need...Read more
ed. It's more than a vacuum for me, it's a lifesaver AND it's bagless. I purchased a quality Miele vacuum cleaner, a significant improvement. I am questioning why I've made do with the cordless one for 2 years.Purchased in September 2021 at Harvey Norman for $549.00.

Disappointing, want my old vacuum back.
My partner threw out our old 2013 electrolux. As i inadvertently used it to clean up old asbestos containg floor tiles.
The miele does have good suction. But not as good as the old electrolux cat&dog which had the electric driven head. I would find myself having to remove the vac turbo head to clean between floorboard gaps, which still underperformed against our later unit. This miele is heavy and unless on hard floors is a handfull to pull around even on our new, short pile wool carpet. It does okay on hard floors, but find myself walking over...Read more

Very powerful vacuum cleaner
I bought this vacuum cleaner three months ago and so far I am very satisfied with its performance. It's powerful suction sucks up the dust and dog hair very effectively over tiled floor and heavy rugs. It's easy to operate. The dust bin and filter can be emptied and washed easily after use. Also, this model comes with a number of attachments including a turbo brush. If I have to be very nitpicking, I will have liked it to be a couple of kilos lighter.

Excellent machine
Best vacuum I have ever purchased. Love the variable suction control. It is lightweight and easy to manoeuvre around. Compact storage is a huge plus. Power head is incredibly powerful, I frequently have to adjust suction as it is so powerful. Easily picks up pet hair. The canister is large, easy to empty.

Good suction but disappointing unexpected features
Vacuum glides and sucks well. Unfortunately the 'comfort' handle is anything but. The built in dust brush means that you can't dust above 1m without hoiking the cleaner up onto a chair. Impossible to dust cornices. The handle is heavy and cumbersome.
Purchased in February 2021.

Hi Kylie, thank you for your feedback. We will pass this feedback onto the Miele team.
Hi Anna, is it possible to get a different hose and handle? if you don't hold the 'comfort' handle in the way specified you are at risk of electric shock. Unfortunately it is impossible to maneuver the dusting brush and hold it in the correct way.

Fantastic cleaner
I love this vacuum cleaner. I had a Dyson for many years but in comparison the suction is much better and I like that I can change the strength of the suction. While not light it is easily manoverable. Fabulous cleaner love it
I have found no problems and emptying is so easy

Absolutely incredible, I love it!
My concern with this vacuum is that it is heavy to get in and out of the cupboard but it is absolutely effortless to use. My last Miele which I also loved did a good job but it was hard work where as this is a breeze. No more purchasing bags and the hair that it picked up had to be seen to be believed. I am 100% thrilled!

Pleased with this one.
We bought this to replace a previous Miele. Very pleased with the way it cleans our floors, which are mostly carpeted. Vac is heavy but moves easily. The vac is "bagless" and easy to empty, but will require emptying most times we use it as the dust container has a “max” mark at half way up the container. Also was easy to remove the shower cap inadvertently vacuumed up!! The dustbrush on the handle has been criticised by reviewers, so we kept the one from the old vac and it fits, for when we need it for high up. One warning about the dust b...Read more
rush…it is quite hard to release to move it into position. Ask the store salespeople to demonstrate it for you or you will have to do as we did….return to the store, and ask for help. Once mastered it is very handy. Lastly, the noise during operation is low pitched and not too loud.1 comment

Thought it would be better
I bought this machine 4 months ago after reading great reviews. There are a lot of pros, thats for sure, but I am actually a bit disappointed with the suction. Some people rave about it, but I found my old bagged vacuum, which cost less that half the price of this one, was way better. It certainly doesn't 'grab' the carpet like I hoped. I do like the interchangeable heads, and the self retracting cord (cord could be longer). It's fairly quiet and I like the smaller attachments for my stairs. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong to get maximum power?? It is on the highest setting, so it's not that. Regularly gets emptied etc. Any advise would be great!

So far so good. Very happy
Attachments clip on smoothly and easily (unlike our previous Bosch). All attachments on board, price was reasonable for a good quality vacuum cleaner. I havent had it long but is doing a great job, easy to empty and clean - there doesn't appear to have the paper filter that I used to have to clean out before. Bagless means I will save money - has the turbo head.

Great little unit!
Great little vacuum cleaner! Can't beat it!
No need to spend a small fortune on a Dyson, that's for sure!
Great for removing pet hair - it picks up dirt and eliminates everything out of the carpets including dust and dirt.
It's on of the best I've ever used! !

Alright, but it's no Dyson!
I was convinced to buy this vacuum cleaner after reading so many positive reviews online. In the past I have had Dysons, and I love them, but not the fact that they don't seem to last very long - after a few years, the machine loses power and stops performing well (I've had 3 in the last 10-12 years!). The Miele is an attempt to get a longer lasting product (fingers crossed), but so far I am not converted...

d it for elderly people. - The wheels are small and get caught on the power lead- a lot! And the vacuum also seems to like moving sideways rather than ahead?!? I feel that I'm always pausing mid vacuum to straighten it out. - The power head works great but is bulky. When vacuuming under furniture with either head you have to lay the hose sideways and push it under on an angle otherwise it sits up and sucks up nothing! Also, you can't get into tight spaces - the Dysons hard floor head was great for this and I really miss it... - In it's favour though... it really gets the carpet clean! The motor is powerful and sucks up the smallest particles - you can hear them hitting the side of the vacuum cleaner even though you can't see them. And the amount of dust/dirt/fluff/hair that is sucked up after one vacuum has to be seen to be believed!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great job on animal hair
We have two dogs and a cat and always have loads of their hair around the house up till we bought this vacuum a year or so ago. It sucks up most of the hair as it suggests it dose and is easy to empty and saves on having to go out and buy bags

Perfectly competent product
Was looking around for a vacuum cleaner as the bedrooms are carpeted while the living room and dining are tiled.
Decided on a bagless one and after doing some research, decided to splurge on Miele CX1 (Cat & Dog series).
Very happy with its performance thus far, the Cat & Dog series comes with an attachment that cleans the carpeted area brilliantly; it's almost a perverse joy to look at how much dust/hair it picks up at the end of a cleaning session.
Not exactly lightweight, but the heft, to me, feels like a quality product. After all, ...Read more
it wouldn't feel good if it's light (and flimsy). Noise level acceptable. Might be a tad tricky to vacuum around the stairs though; then again this probably happens to all non-stick type of vacuum cleaners.1 comment

I'm finding the brush roller becomes clogged with dog hair within 10 minutes of cleaning it. (The dog is an Australian Shepherd https://www.pinterest.com.au/pin/425801339760976683/?lp=true) Cleaning it involves cutting the fur carefully with scissors - so as not to cut the bristles of the brush - then pulling the fur out. This alone takes nearly five minutes. Is there an easier way of cleaning the brush?

It's a pig to clean. You could easily take the back off of the turbo brush on my old Dyson, this one is screwed down with no access.
Sorry I dont have a dog or cat, brought it for the power, has to be strong for animal hair, it reminds me I had a kambrook vaccum, my dyed blonde would be all wrapped round the mech in the brush, I loved it so I just put up with it, this one doesnt do that with my dyed loose hair, I bet you are dissapointed, I would feel meile dropped the ball there, as kylie said her old dyson take the back off, but with this, no u cant acess it at, I have just looked at my cleaning head, no, this is feeble but all I can suggest is trying to get a refund, as it definitely is not suitable, and considering how much u paid, wow, it is an expensive machine that involes a lot of hard work for the owner, if it wasnt a dog and car vaccum, and this happen sure, they would say well it is not made of animal fur.
U have brought it in good faith dog and cat vaccum, no I be really angry. I think u have a case and u obviously havent had the vaccum very long it is just not suitable for animal fur
Thanks Rosie. Fortunately it's not my vacuum but belongs to one of my client's who I clean for. His sister bought the vacuum but was so disappointed because of the roller brush getting clogged quickly and being difficult to remove the fur, that she gave the vacuum to my client. It's a fabulous vacuum cleaner except for the clogged roller brush. I think Miele make the best vacuum cleaners as a rule.
