Absolutely loath the god forsaken thing!
This sling looks great on the packaging but I've tried using it several times with two bubs (since we spent so much money on it!) and it's a total no go!
It's awkward to wear, doesn't support your back at all and I found it made my babies legs red as well! Resorting to the cheap Kmart carrier instead. It's surprisingly a billion times better than this ridiculous sling!
Purchased in May 2021 at Baby Bunting for $100.00.

Hard to use
Hard to use. I'm sure if you used it 500 times, you could do it by yourself but baby was too awkward in there and the videos on the website doesn't help. Hard on the shoulders. Baby too uncomfortable.
I wanted to get something where my big sized husband can use but I can't even figure it out myself

Hated it!!!
Biggest waste of money I have ever spent! BIG pain to get the hang of putting baby in, baby uncomfortable while in there, both my partner and I didn't feel comfortable putting our newborn in at all. Now 4 months, thought I'd give it another shot with the kangaroo (different way to use sling at 3+ months) and bubs was so cramped and bunched up that it seemed like it could cause back and leg problems. Got no use out of this what so ever. Although I will say we have quite a large and long baby so it may be great for smaller/premmie babies. Every baby is different. I wouldn't be in a hurry to buy any sling until you've actually had baby to test what suits them and you best!

Can not figure it out!!
Bought this because my 5 week old loves the Ergobaby and this looked quicker to put on and use around the home, however despite watching various youtube videos multiple times and trying over and over to put him in and rearrange his position I just can not get him into a position where his chin is not touching his chest so I won't use it as I'm too scared of suffocating him. Feel like for what it is, the price is a little much also (paid $79.95). Probably should have just stuck with the Ergobaby, but will try again when he is older/bigger and see if the other holds work better for him.

Mini Monkey Sling Saved My Back!
I have clingy babies and mini monkey slings helped me a lot! Wish I had them when I had my 1st, 2nd & 3rd children. Been using it for past 3 years on my 4th & 5th children. Can't leave without it now.
Maybe be difficult to adjust or learn at first but once you get to know how to use it, you will love it.
Highly recommended!
Good padding, good material, not so expensive, very reliable. Buy cheap from ebay!

Awesome!!
I love this sling.
Having a pip squeak of a 6 month old I like to carry him rather than put him in a pram. The instant I put him in he was happy he could snuggle mummy. Or watch his big brother if he chose to. He does not seem smothered by it (another sling I had seemed to cover his face far to much for my liking) and its nice and soft for him too. Sits him up enough to see around.
Its light weight and padded nicely. No pulling down which is great for me with a bad back and shoulder.
I even chucked my 3 year old in it, in the hip position and he loved it too. Which surprised me being mr independent LOL.
Wish I had of had it for my first two kids.
The fact you can use it from new born to 2ish years.
Nothing

BEST Sling on the market! and I have tried them all....
I absolutely loved this sling and wow so did my bubs :-) It went everywhere with me and so did she. After testing so many... this one was by far the most durable, the safest, most comfortable for me and bubs and it didn't look like she was suffocating... she could still see the world! LOVE it so much and will be using for next bubs too. I could do everything with her in he sling, from shopping to putting up the Christmas tree! We went everywhere together and she was always close to me and felt safe and secure, slept soundly in the mini monk...Read more
ey. I have seen other people struggle with slings, including this one... but you are either a sling person or you are not... you need to relax with it and you are your baby will relax too. It took a couple of goes to adjust, and then get used to putting it on, but once it was set, it was perfect and we never looked back. I tried soooooo many slings. Nothing was as good as the mini monkey in my opinion for several reasons: - baby could see the world and breathe! rather than being hidden a mile down the sling. - comfortable across my back.. I have a back injury and it was perfect once adjusted to suit me. - strong fabric but breathable (no overheating) - adjustable... not that I needed to once I had it perfect to fit me... even after a year. - easy to put on and off, get baby in and off you go... no fuss.Similar opinion? So disappointed
I wouldn't rate the baby carrier at all.
I purchased two earlier this year, one for myself and the other for my sister in law as a baby shower present. Just 4 months on they are both broken. The buckles on one will not stay secure and the other carrier has split.
The carrier felt great while trying on store however are uncomfortable with a baby in place and are difficult to use. Really disappointed that i had to purchase another carrier and even worse to find out the gift you have given had to be replaced as well. Biggest waste of money!
Poor quality straps and buckles, hard to use.

Frustrated
Like other said, good fabric, the padding on the shoulder is great, and it feels sturdy. But, the only time I've ever actually used this sling was in the baby shop when I returned to buy some other baby stuffs and asked the staff how to wear this properly. After that, I can never get it right, instructions are frustrating, and my newborn looks squished in it, I don't feel ok seeing her like that. Might give this another try when she's older though.
Difficult to use.

Helpful while dealing with cranky baby
I bought this sling after buying a no-brand-name-cheap-made-in-china one. The first impression was very good as fabric and buckles feel great - really good quality. The sling was a great help when my baby had her "purple crying" moments - the sling was the only option to calm her down. At the same time I could move around and do stuff n things around the house. Felt safer if one of my hands is on the baby while carrying/moving/turning. She enjoyed it in all positions - kangaroo, banana and loved the hammock. Once she became heavier though I fou...Read more
nd it hard carrying her for a long time - the back was getting sore. That's when I baught "backpack" type of carrier from minimonkey and enjoyed it even more. Good quality product; baby enjoyed all positions - wondering around in kangaroo, had fun in the hummock slept/rested and even brestfed a few times in banana position. when the bub became heavier (about 6 kg) it was starting to hurt my back if carrying her for a long timeSimilar opinion? Not a bad sling
I bought this for my 4th baby i used one of those front pack whinge with my first and hated it so thought the sling might be the way to go. The instructions ill admit are hopeless it's best to go on YouTube and watch the sling be put on, it made more sense to me after watching rather then reading really bad instructions.
It has three stages so you get your monies worth iv even managed to breast feed my lil man in this sling
Some times my lil guys looks uncomfortable like squished in it so I'm forever arranging him in there, because it's to be used on the one shoulder I find I get a sore shoulder quickly probably because it's digging in on a old break in my collarbone. She have optional shoulder preference for use.

I love it!
I bought this after not liking a non-adjustable sling we had previously. My bub is now 7kg & I mainly use it for 1-2 hour trips around shops, to Doc appts etc or if bub is unsettled at home. The Minimonkey is very comfortable, great padded shoulder for me and great support for bub, people always comment that he is very cosy & content in it. With this sling you wear it on the right shoulder to make a shallower pocket for a newborn/smaller bub in banana carry or wear it on the left shoulder to get a deeper pocket for kangaroo/buddha and hip carry...Read more
positions. When used correctly and bub is positioned correctly this is one of the best slings on the market in my opinion, the stitching is good, the padded 'rails' are great, the clasp is strong, it never comes loose at all and unlike other slings it can be put on/off over the head so you don't have to re-adjust it every time you wear it, basically once you get it right you can keep it that way! I think using any sling takes a bit of practice to get bub in and out etc but once I figured that out I've loved using it ever since and wouldn't go without it now. Comfortable, Well made, Has various position options. Not much, but can only be used on one shoulder ie left only for deep pocket sling.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Waste of money
I don't like this product probably because I'm not doing it right but who knows! It's hard to figure out. When I thought I had it right bubs looked uncomfortable or I was uncomfortable. The whole thing is awkward. The price is too expensive. I regret buying it. My advice is to buy it second hand that way when you realize how bad it is you won't be out of pocket so much!

a godsend once I figured it out
I didn't figure this one out for the newborn stage and I guess I wasn't sold enough on the benefits of baby wearing to persevere. I tried again when my dd was 5 months old though and wow did my life change immediately - I am small and not terribly strong, this sling enabled me to carry my dd around until I last used the sling when she was 21 months old. I only stopped because I got pregnant and needed her to get used to being on her own a bit more. I was going to get a baby wrap this time for the first 3 months, but have since decided to use th...Read more
e mini monkey again and get it right from the beginning. I do really like the idea that there are no rings/ties to fall apart. I managed to do a 10 km hike with this when dd was 9 months instead of in the front pack. Word of warning though, during a sleep deprived moment I threw it into the machine to wash - hand wash only if you don't want the shoulder to bunch up. I have to buy a new one this time. easy to use - once you figure it out takes a bit to figure it outSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Amazing
I was abit hesitate to buy this product since there were a lot of bad reviews but I thought I’ll try it out anyway and It’s Amazing.
Once I put baby into the sling and all the sudden he stops crying. And I have 2 hands spare as well :)
I guess every baby is different.
My baby is 8 weeks, 58cm, 5kg.
Only thing is his getting abit small for the banana option and not ready for the Kangaroo option
Baby loves it, comfortable, stops crying straight away
instruction is not clear. you have to go youtube to find how to use.

Not what I hoped for :(
My baby hated the sling, and I found getting him in and out rather awkward. Baby never looked comfortable in it. I am going to hang onto it though because I like the fact that it takes them to toddler size and you can use it to hold them on your hip. Fingers crossed as baby gets bigger I get some use out of it! I much prefer my baby bjorn carrier at the moment.
Can be used when baby is bigger
Seemed uncomfortable for baby and awkward to use

very handy
this is a great sling and have used it since birth (now 16 months). the baby's face is clearly seen in the "banana" (reclined) position and it can be worn in several other positions as the child grows, i have even worn it doing housework!! the strap is secure and easily adjustable for when someone else wants to carry baby or be used as a hammock!! it also has great back support when carrying on the hip and the shoulder cushioning makes it comfortable to wear (i carried my 12kg, sick child around the shops for 2 hours with no discomfort and he w...Read more
as so much happier being so close to me!). It is easy to clean in the washing machine. also so cheap compared to other carriers. inexpensive, comfortable, easy to clean, adjustable as baby grows and great colours and organic fabric (for those stylish Hippies out there!!) some extra padding would be nice behind the clasp, but otherwise brilliant!Similar opinion? Cumbersome to put on & ill fitting
Hopeless product! I watched the instructional video several times to see how to put a newborn in this, and realised in the end the product was just a bad design. My local mothers group looked at it & we decided it was too big for both mum and baby. My baby is 6 weeks old. Perhaps this will suit a much older baby, but really the idea of a sling for me is to carry around a sleeping new born!
Like the "hammock" option - but only if u have a cot to hang it in
Too big, baby hated it, cumbersome to put on

Good
This sling was excellent when our baby was a newborn- he would consistently settle in it and the clip feature meant that we could put him down in the sling to his cot without waking him. It took a bit of fiddling and practice to work out how to position the baby in the sling, and to get the sling into the 'newborn' position, but was extremely easy to use after that. Not so useful for older babies- they don't enjoy feeling as 'snug' (it limits movement a lot) and it is uncomfortable to wear with a heavy baby. Overall the good price still means it is an excellent buy even if only used for a few months.
Comfortable for newborns, easy to use once worked out.
Uncomfortable (back pain) once baby reaches 6-7kg

Good backup sling.
It took about 5-10 tries to get the newborn banana position, but once you do, it's awesome for settling a newborn! My son fell asleep instantly in it. He started hating the banana position at about 8 weeks but his neck wasn't strong enough to go to the belly/hip position. So we didn't use it again until he was about 3 or so months old.
At 9 months now and we're still using the sling regularly - love the hipster and belly positions. Great for short walks or nipping around because it's quick and comfortable.
It can be annoying to adjust -...Read more
because you have to get the length perfectly right before you put the baby in. In some ways a ring sling would be better because you can adjust the size of the pouch after getting the baby in. Compact and easy to carry. Pretty quick and easy to get the baby in once you get the hang of it. Takes a while to figure out the newborn postion. Having to adjust the sling to exactly the right length before getting the baby in and being unable to adjust the pouch to suit the baby. Can get uncomfortable on the shoulder after a while.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I purchased this product from a baby store sale. The item that I purchased has three other small straps with plastic clips. I can't see them on any of the images I've found and can't figure out what they're for. Does anybody know?
