Best mid range Dashcam.
ok have had the mio myvue 658wifi for about 3 months now and i can honestly say this has got to be the most user friendly dashcam ive ever used and ive been thru alot!! the features this little gem has will impress the most hardened dashcam enthusiest, yes there are others out there with more features bigger price etc etc but the 658 has everthing you need....to start it has 1296p true uhd video recording now if you set this as your preferred video format remember if you play your recorded clip on a device which doesnt support 1296p then its not...going to look that flash.gps is standard as is parking sensor which i never use as it can only record where it is pointing,no good if someone bumps your car from behind however the next model up does come with a free standing rear facing camera at an xtra cost of course.the 2.7 touch screen is easy to use and has the added feature of adding tour own watermark to the video, your name or car rego or watever you wish.this also comes with a orange button on the right side of the unit that when pushed will record 10 seconds before and ten seconds after this is handy because you can also download an app in either android or apple for your smartphone so when you push that button it goes straight to your phone no having to sift thru your vids when you get home.170 degree viewing angle is more than enough and will capture from pillar to pillar on a normal sized sedan.the mounting to the window is by way of suction cup with the usb cable cleverly clipped into the mount, please note this requires a fair amount of preassure to push in but when you hear a CLICK its in,the unit then pushes on to the mount with the usb lineing up perfectly it is a fantastic way of mounting the usb as the cable does not hang or swing causing the female usb receiver to wear over time, supports up to a 32gig micro sd card, next model up supports 2x micro usb up to 32gig.best place to purchase is ebay roughly about $260NZ.now when you receive it the instruction book is in chinese but dont worry the touchscreen menu is all in english and really easy to use.so out of ten i give this a good 8.5 hope this has helped in making your choice easier.
