I woke this morning to a very loud noise coming from my 1 week old fridge. I opened the freezer door and the food inside had defrosted. I opened the fridge door and seemed as items weren’t as cold as they should be.
Over a period of of time the noise has gotten quieter. However every time l open both doors the fridge seems to stop....some part like a fan... I am don’t enough to o say what part.
What is going on?...

I just bought this fridge in used condition, seems great but for some reason bread in the freezer will not freeze, it stays soft, ice cubes and everything else is good. Is this normal for the model or is it faulty?

I purchased my Mitsubishi MR420EKWA on the 15th May 2022 and it sounds as if it is running all the time now.. At first it seemed to be shutting off but in the last 48 hours it seems that it is continuing to run for hours at a time.. There seems to be no vacuum when you shut the freezer door and when you close the refrigerator door it looks as if the freezer door bounces open so i have to check that it's shut..At this point the refrigerator has been running non stop for hours..What could be the problem?..

I had the same thing with the doors. What I had to do was make sure the fridge door is 'slammed tight'. Then I make sure the freezer door is reshut. It sounds unusual to be hearing the noise all the time. Mine tends to come on at night for maybe a minute or two and then stops. Perhaps you should contact Mitsubishi.

A question for Mitsubishi.
Could you do something with the freezer door?
It doesn't have the sort of grip like the fridge door, hence the 'bounce' open effect whenever you shut the fridge door.

My fridge is 4 years old and is not working, it makes a loud noise like a lawnmower and does not cool or freeze properly. Items in door freeze but items in freezer do not. Is it under warranty?
3 answers
Hi Victoria,
Sorry to hear that you are having problems with your fridge, When i purchased my fridge last December 2017 it came with a full 5 year Warranty from Mitsubishi.
I can only assume that when you purchased your fridge 4 years ago it also came with a 5 year Warranty, do you have all your paper work and receipt from when you
purchased the fridge you should have received a warranty booklet stating how much Warranty comes with the fridge hope this helps.
However having said that, even if you find that your fridge did not come with 5 year Warranty I would still get in touch with customer care at Mitsubishi and put in a Warranty
claim. The reason I am telling you this is because White goods are required by law to last an acceptable period of time from date of manufacture regardless what the warranty period from date of purchase.
I would say a fridge would have to last a least 10 years to be regarded as a acceptable period of time, yours is only 4 years old .
If you contact Mitsubishi and they try and say that your fridge is out of warranty, politely remind then what acceptable period of time is and if they don't agree to repair your fridge you will contact consumer affairs.
I hope this information is of help and I wish you all the best in getting your fridge repaired.
Regards Quint.
Thank you for your input. Very helpful!

Hi, We just bought this fridge and like it so far after owning the previous Mitsubishi Fridge for 32 Years!
My question though is: is the lighting good in your fridges as ours seems very dim, doesn't light up the whole fridge just the middle?
1 answer
Hi Sandy, glad to heart your happy with fridge so far ( but I have to say well done on getting 32 years out of previous Mitsubishi fridge). Know as far as lighting goes, we also found the light to be not as bright as our old Admiral fridge which lasted 22 years. I believe the Mitsubishi has a led light in it which is suppose to not need replacing, we found after having fridge for a few months we got used to the dimmer light, and it does not bother us anymore. Hope this has been of use to you .

Hi,
Thank you for your reply. I have had a Kelvinator for 20 years now. Am a bit apprehensive about a new one, hence my homework searching the web, as I am learning that once delivered there is no going back- according to the reviews I have been reading-. So my dilemma is 'to repair or not to repair' my old friend that got a leak near the interior electricity box and has a blob of ice there.....
Which is the best Refrigerator nowadays?
That's the question from a peaceful middle age lady for a hassle-free fridge that can survive beyond 'warranty years'.
Thanks and regards.

I have recently purchased the Mibsubishi top mount 420L fridge. So far I am very happy with it. The manual states that you need to regularly clean the drain pan. How often do you need to clean it?
3 answers
I clean it annually as I am in a rural area and have dusty conditions from the road.
Thanks for your reply. The instruction manual didn't say how often it needs to be done.
Hi, thank you for asking as I would be keen to know. By the way, seeing you have bought recently, can you recall if the new fridge had some sort of gaseous smell in it? (Not the typical plastic smell)

Hi, I have a purchased a 420L model and i have noticed the bottom part at the back is not covered. Why is that? I notice it's covered in the 406L multi draw model.
What is the technical difference?

Hi, My fridge has a white plastic cover, basically it keeps the cat (or any other similar sized pests/pets) out from the motor/compressor area of the fridge. Many fridges have this area open for air circulation and ease of cleaning as mice and rodents love to make a home around the warm motors. This is the first fridge I can remember having this cover, it is only held on by a couple of screws. You should ask Mitsubishi why yours is missing, perhaps it was removed in a later product revision or yours was missed out on the production line.
I hope this helps, I hope you realize I am just an x-Mitsubishi customer and not working for the company.
I see. Mitsubishi Electric reps can you post a pic of the white plastic cover?
Strange mate, Mine is completely boxed in and I mean completey!!! I believe you may be looking at a superceded model as an update came out on this fridge at my time of purchase.
