Absolutely quiet and highly efficient
We replaced an old system and are stunned by the silent and pleasant operation of this unit. The air stream is gentle and not noticeable, and it keeps us warm in Canberra winter. Outside unit is also very, very quiet. The system is intelligent, and unnoticeably changes operational parameters to maintain the temperature with least obtrusion.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
I've recently had this split system air-conditioning installed by the Office of Housing, in the six (6) days since installation, I'm absolutely & utter impressed. I've been living in my unit for 23 yrs, with traditional gas heating, which eventually had to be replaced - until now, I've never ever had to air-conditioning, it's been like joining the 21st century - I'm very very much impressed.
Purchased in June 2021.

Perfect small AC
In the last 5 years we progressively populated our house with extremely efficient MHI hyper inverter units which were rated as 6 stars efficient. Yes, there is initial higher price of purchase, but in lifecycle sense of things it turns up cheaper too have good, efficient unit rather than buy something cheap(er). Despite all good words I can say about small hyper inverter units we did encounter a small, actually a big problem. Last unit we bought just before winter 2018 for our 2-year-old to keep room nice and warm on in endeavour reduce our he...Read more
ating costs. On the first night of operation we set AC to 24C (the temperature outside was just below 10C) on heat and went to bed. After 15 minutes of operation kid’s monitor was screaming about overheating and showing 29C. We thought it is a mistake but checked the room and it was very warm. So, we set AC to 22C. The story repeated itself. We called MHI the next day. The support from MHI was great. The tech came it, tested all and said… that the AC is too big for the room (2.5m x 3m). Apparently, to protect AC compressor it should run for at least 10 min before switching off. It was hard to accept as situation, but tech said that at the end of 2018 MHI will release a new version of this model that has better environmental credentials and 5 minutes cut off time instead of 10. By the end of 2018 we moved to a new house and because we were impressed by MHI AC quality, commitment for improvement and support we decided to buy new hyper inverter model. This is how we ended up buying srk20zsxa-w. The AC has 7 stars environmental rating. Whatever that means for people that rate them I’m not sure, but the AC cools and heats room exceptionally well while consuming only around 400W of power, well, that is truly impressive. What else is impressive – it is silent. I barely can hear the indoor unit and can’t hear outdoor unit at all. No more too hot/cold problems like with its predecessor. I’m extremely impressed. Everyone have their view on what the best AC for their needs/budget, but if you are after extremely efficient, well working unit and don’t mind paying a bit more I highly recommend srk20zsxa-w. Note, prices for this particular model are high, but shopping around and hard bargain does pay off. I ended up paying $250 less than advertised price for each AC. Mind you, we bought 4.Purchased in December 2021 at The Electric Discounter.

Happy customer, very quite unit
Pros - very quiet and energy efficient
Cons - High cost
I have been using the unit for 6 months now I am very happy with the unit.
I got the SRK20ZSXA-W, 7 star rated 2KW split system installed for a 16 square meter study.
I work 1 meter away from it and the indoor unit is very quiet on low fan speed and I hardly know it is working. The external unit is installed on a fibro wall but no vibrations or excess noise come through to the study. It is quite adequate to keep the room at the temperature and probably too big for the room as 23 in summer...Read more

Shush .. the Avanti Plus is trying to say something!
Split system air conditioners - holy moly, there sure are a lot of those around! Am I right or am I right. Anyhoo, we wanted a small, quiet and efficient unit (e.g. 2KW) for a bedroom. I must admit to being drawn to this brand after having a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries fridge (which runs so quietly you can hardly hear it). It was still a close call between the Mitsu, Panasonic, and Daikin, but in the end I was sold on the fact that this 7 star unit was engineered by renowned, Italian industrial design firm TENSA, boasting a sleek, sophisticate...Read more
d and modern design that was awarded the Silver A’Design Award in 2017. "Whoa back there - did you say 'TENSA' .. err I mean '7 star' ? " "Ahuh.. yes I did. May I continue? .. <whistle> So anyway, it turns out that the Avanti Plus is one of the only 7 star rated options out there (round of applause). The unit is very similar in features to the Avanti, which is its 5 star rated 'uglier' cousin, but probably just as good an option if budget is an issue. You can also find the Avanti line at the likes of Bunnings or Harvey, whereas this was a little more sparse and hence not as heavily discounted. Price difference is around 300 on a 2Kw system. For the extra coin, you do get a slightly different chassis, a motion sensor (like on the Daikin) an ultra Eco mode (for that bonus two stars in efficiency), plus some smarty pants allergy filters (cough). That TENSA design obviously cost some biscuits as well. It's still a big white box on the wall people - don't get your hopes up. Anyway, the unit is shaped quite nicely for an aircon, but it's not until you turn things on where you will notice the difference to cheaper brands. This thing is ultra quiet ... and I don't use the word 'ultra' lightly here. Not just inside either. The big difference to other systems I've seen and heard is for the outside unit. Super silent compressor unit - very impressive. Even the installer couldn't believe how silent this thing ran. You would have no problems installing this right next to a paper thin bedroom wall or near windows. The only aspect not entirely silent is the fancy flap mechanism when the unit turns on or off. The whole front fascia lifts up to reveal the IR sensor, and that motion can be slightly creaky. Once running however, it's much like most other internal units in terms of fan noise. The fan on low is very quiet.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Should I get an Avanti or Avanti Plus?

Hi Steve,
The Avanti and Avanti PLUS split systems both come in similar sizes (2.0kW - 6.0kW) however the Avanti PLUS is our premium series and comes with additional features and functions including improved components (making it much more energy efficient and allowing the 2.0kW model to achieve an industry leading 7 star energy rating) precise temperature control and an energy serving motion sensor. Our Bronte series is our larger series (6.3kW - 9.5kW) and is suited for larger spaces. Hi :)
Had this installed a few weeks back and very happy with it. Only problem is that the salesman told us we could control it via wifi, but I can't find information on how to do this anywhere. Help would be appreciated.

My room is 12 square meters. Should I buy the 2.0 kW model or 2.5kW
4 answers
Depends on MANY things. For heating or cooling primarily? Room with big or small windows. Roof type. Faces summer sun or shaded side. Lots of heat generation (computers) or not. For daytime use (study) or night time use (sleeping)...
You can always turn down an aircon but never able to run above 100%. So if in doubt, buy the larger one (small extra cost) VS never being happy you cannot turn it up higher if smaller model bought.
Bottom line is the product is amazing and should be fine with either but I would pay the extra 10-20% to KNOW I am covered.
Congrats on the choice.

Hi Henry,
As Peter mentioned, there are a number of factors to take into consideration when selecting the size of your air-conditioner. I'd suggest referring to our handy room sizing chart and if in doubt, go for the slightly larger unit. https://mhiaa.com.au/document/srkdxk-room-sizing-chart/
Thanks but the graph does not talk about the test conditions like the temperature of that day that tested. In a very hot day like 44 Celsius my room tend to get very hot with the hot av receiver, monitor and PC cpu running at 70 celsius these adds extra 4 celsius to the room at this day what size would fit the bill? I wanted the 2.0kW because of 0.31 watts efficiency though just making sure about the test conditions. On bottom of the graph it does say (* This guide has been developed to assist in model selection for the majority of normal residential air conditioning situations) I'm not sure if I know what I think it means.
